    Thank goodness I had one on my lens. This is a replacement because I dropped my camera on its head and the filter instantly broke into little pieces. The glass on my lens did not.

    this is specifically on so that I don't get dirt or moisture on my expensive lenses. I have one for each lens and just leave it on. Fits right under the lens cap and is a breeze.

    honestly I bought this to make sure I wouldn't accidentally scratch my lens and it works perfectly. fits the lens that came with my SL1 as well as my telephoto lens
