Never got to even try this box system out. Saw many reviews online about DOA systems but thought it wouldn't happen to me. Well, I was wrong. Hooked system up, turned on, and had no video. After calling Samsung tech support they said that there was an issue with the video driver and needed to be sent in for repair. Ended up returning and purchasing a separate receiver system that ended up fitting my needs better. Sometimes you just shouldn't try to cut costs, this was one example.

    Good value set... not perfect

I purchased this item after reading the multiple reviews on this site. I was also considering purchasing a separate receiver unit and using some speakers I already had, but was enticed by the prospect of wireless rear surround speakers. Overall, I am pleased, but this unit is missing some key functionality to make it perfect for my use. Points below: PRO: 1. wireless speakers - mostly convenient, although I still have to run wires between them and the wireless receiver. They are not truly wireless. 2. bluetooth - this feature is awesome. Some other units that cost 2-3 times as much do not have this. I enjoy this daily. 3. sound - it's good sound. Not the end-all-be-all, but it'll work for now. Solid surround. 4. Blue ray included - good quality picture, painless execution, good home screen in my opinion. 5. includes Netflix and Amazon service support. 6. FM tuner included. CON: 1. wireless speakers... realize, they will both need to be wired to a wireless control unit. So, to me that is not "wireless" but you don't have to run individual wires to each speaker from the unit. semi-convenient, but not perfect wireless execution. 2. No HDMI pass-through. So the unit has to both be ON and HDMI selected. So, if I wanted to watch football on my tv with ipad streaming bluetooth Pandora... nope. Or if I just want to watch tv without the ful stereo, the unit has to be on. 3. No optical in - so, no connecting my tv output to the unit. 4. Speaker connection use proprietary connections, so no running my own wires for future expansion. 5. 1 x HDMI in - so only the cable box gets run through the stereo unless I swap HDMI cables each time. 6. 1 x HDMI out - pretty standard, but would love an additional output for my 2-tv display. Bottom line: Despite a long list of "cons," still a solid unit for the money spent. Samsung had to compromise on the feature set for the consumer, I get that. As a result, this unit does not have everything I was wanting. The "mostly wireless" rear speakers make this a good unit for me right now. But would I buy it again? Probably not. I was considering a $250 Denon with a blue ray player separate. More power, bluetooth, multiple HDMI inputs, and can upgrade to better speakers as I go.

Thumbs up To Best Buy! Great Product

Originally I had purchased the Samsung 5 series but changed my mind prior to pick up so I cancelled the order and got the 6 series. This system is incredible. I have been using a Samsung sound bar for years and the sound is great for a room. This time I wanted a 5.1 system for my living room and this one is perfect. The sounds are much deeper, it has an additional HDMI input, the blu-ray player works great and smart features are fast and convenient. It comes with a really nice small remote. On a side note, I noticed that the price came down another $50. Happening just days away from my purchase I called Best Buy and they refunded me the difference. That's what I call customer service. I ALWAYS buy my electronics at Best Buy and will continue doing so. One feature that I really enjoy out of this system is that you don't need wires from the back speakers to the front of the room due to the wireless feature (wires are needed form back speakers to the receiver in the back). When you look at price vs features you will notice the 6 series is a bargain! I am now getting ready to purchase a 60" Samung 4k 3D Smart TV on black Friday. This Home Theater will definitely complement the new TV. Do not look at anything else. This is the one to buy.

    The Remote Is A Joke

The sound quality seems to be as good as any I've heard in this price range, but the tiny little remote is a joke for anyone with sizeable hands. I am constantly pressing more than one button at a time and need to use a fingernail to select anything with the remote. It's about 1.25 inches by 4.5 inches long. I will absolutely need to buy a universal programable remote if I decide to keep this system.

I purchased this system after returning a Sony Home Theater system because of problems. The first day I connected this unit, I had problems playing DVDs. My picture would start off pixelated and freeze. I had to open and close the dvd player in order to get it to play. I don't watch many DVDs and I didn't want to go through the hassel of returning another system. The remote control is a joke. It's almost impossible to get the battery cover on it and I can never remember how to skip to stored radio stations using this remote. It's almost like a toy remote. Recently, my sound has stopped playing. I'm using a optical connection. It will play for a little bit and then just go completely out for the TV. The radio and DVD player still play the sound. I tried calling tech support. Somehow, the guy ended up hanging up on me and did not bother to call back. I haven't made time to call them back. I've owned this system for two months. I wonder if Best Buy will let me return it.

Excellent sound system for the Price

Blue tooth and wireless port for separate rear speakers are great options, the sound quality is excellent. This was my first Samsung theater system after using Sony prior to this one. Very pleased with it overall. The remote is tricky to use at first, and takes some practice learning how to navigate around the menus. The fast forward and rewind buttons have to be held down to work or you just end up skipping chapters. And holding it down multiple time to fast forward at a higher speed is a drawback.

    Decent system for the price

Reviews of this system were mixed. If it worked right away, most people seemed to think the system had good sound and was easy to setup and use. Others had issues immediately and returned it. Despite the mixed reviews, we decided to take a chance. Wireless back speakers are a must for our open floor pan and this system seemed to deliver what we needed within our price range. Our system worked fine when we brought it home but a few weeks later, the wireless speaker hub stopped working. After a couple of calls to Samsung support to determine the issue, they told us the unit needed replacing. Brought the whole system back to Best Buy and requested replacement. They didn't hesitate and replaced it with a new system of the same model. Since they didn't have another in stock at my local store, the store manager personally picked it up from the next closest store and brought it to my local store the next day so I wouldn't have to wait the usual 3 days. Great service!! It's been 9 months now and the system is still working well. The sound is great, especially for the moderate price. Much like others' experience - when it works, it works great. No in-between with this system.

    Overall a good product

We have thoroughly enjoyed this product. After our home theater system went out, we looked high and low for another system. The wireless speakers in the rear are great for cord control. My only complaint is that this system doesn't have the same level of bass that our old system does, but it's still a good system.

Had the unit about a month now. Sound quality is great! DVD/Blue Ray player has the usual 'smart' options/apps and works great. Appearance of item is nice is well. Clean looking. Remote is a bit simplified as stated in other reviews but does it's job. Overall...you won't be disappointed!

Weak Bass, Poor Surrond Sound, I may Return it.

This is my 2nd day with the HTIB. I am somewhat disappointed. I could not get the Optical cable to work, Samsung Support is a waste of time they don't know anything past a script of questions. It's like talking to a robot and Disney land. Terrible Support! The Bass is very week, You don't feel that Boom Boom Boom that I want. I watch tons of movies because I work Mids so I'm up late many nights, IMO this is an expensive device and 526 plus tax. I really expected POW. Don't get me wrong; you notice the change to a degree. Maybe I'm spoiled by my old Denon. Movies rattled with the Deep thump during some horror flick. This system doesn't come near that. Remote is small but I like it. Better than my small Samsung 4k TV remote (It comes with two). You can gauge any sub woofer by its weight. Go to the store and pick the display model up and you'll see. On the good side it integrates well with my 65 Sammy TV (Best in the Buss) , perfect, I mean its like a sound bar, unnoticeable. All the same feature of my Samsung Smart TV. The rear wireless is a cool idea, yes it has a Hub box but it does not need batteries to run the speakers, nice. Is this a good buy? Well currently No. but I'm giving it a few days. Very borderline. Funny thing is that its hard to compare. In-store demo's are finely tuned. Nothing sounds/looks the same once you get it home.

I love this unit, but have had to return it twice now. First unit the Blu ray play would not read the disks after about a month. The second unit, the wireless speakers would not sync to read the 2 back speakers right off the bat. I'm not sure if I'll buy a third unit or go with another brand. The Samsung sound was amazing, just not worth returning. I went with this system because of all the great reviews, but I have had problems with both of the ones I bought. Hmmmm.

I received this(new) HTIB as a Christmas gift. The set up was going smoothly until I realized that the wireless module wasn't syncing up with the main unit.I also realized that the store warranty was no longer valid,so I called Samsung for a repair. They fixed the problem, but a couple of days later the main unit continuously powered off after one minute. I called Samsung again for another repair. The problem was NOT fixed. I was told that I need to send the main unit back for a repair. At this point (3 and a half months later) I became very angry because not only was the HTIB considered refurbished at the retail price after two repairs, but it was ridiculous to send it back for the same problem knowing that it couldn't be fixed. I insisted on an exchange and was granted,so I did what I was told do to in order to receive a new main unit I spoke with another rep in the service dept. who told me that the product had to be serviced three times before I could exchange. I don't think their policy is reasonable, the process that you have to go through for servicing is lengthy and after four months I am left with a useless piece of equipment and totally digusted. I can't comment on the quality of this product because I never had the chance to sample or enjoy. Moreover, my sister bought the same HTIB and has the same complaint. My mother owns a 5500 model and while watching a DVD movie the background sound was audible, but we couldn't hear dialogue. I will no longer recommend Samsung to anyone or purchase any of their products and will go back to being a SONY consumer.
