Had an older 5.1 surround sound DVD player system which worked great with my old analog TV. Then I bought a new 4K UHD TV six months ago at Best Buy and the audio would never sync correctly with the video no matter what settings I tried on any device. It was driving me nuts. I finally gave up and recently bought this Yamaha 5.1 surround sound system that's 4K UHD compatible. It took a while to set up, especially cutting to length and stripping all the speaker wire ends. But it's JUST WHAT I NEEDED! I've got the Cable/DVR, the Roku, and the (new) DVD player all plugged into the Receiver using HDMI cables. The sound is very rich, full bass, and the surround sound is wonderful -- much better than my old 5.1 system. The HDMI out goes to the TV. Everything is synched perfectly now. Should have done this months ago. They did warn me at the Best Buy store that older surround sound systems may not work well with the new 4K UHD T.V.s. They were right. They're always right.

System is an excellent entry stereo system especially for an apartment. Amplifier/receiver can be reused if you want to build off of it. I'm really happy that I spent the extra 150 bucks over the other home theaters in a box systems. If you can operate a pair of wire strippers, then you can install this system.

The system does well in small rooms but lacks mid-level sounds. High level sounds are to much. Yet the base works very well. System peaks out to quickly at higher volume. Sounds distorted

I love my Yamaha Home Theater, nothing comes close at this price. It was very easy to set up and operate. The performance is way beyond any out of the box systems I have had previously and is well worth the money.

The speakers are awesome in my opinion but the receiver that came with it claimed to be able to handle the latest HDMI technology and marks one of its inputs 2.2 but it only allows basic pass through of this which was a bummer since I have three 4k devices so I ended up going and getting a better receiver. However is you are looking for an awesome home theater system this if for you most average people don't need or even know how to take advantage of high end home theater equipment and get upsold stuff by salesman who have been in a 1 hr long company training class about TV's and audio products especially the "High End" cables . any who if your looking for a decent home theater system get this works great in a SMALL bedroom or man cave

Not the absolute best but very impressive since it is a boxed system and much less than buying each piece individually. This replaced my Sony system that I had for about 12 years and finally started having subwoofer issues. Pretty nice replacement system.

It's an okay product. I would rather a BOSE sound system.

Its alright but not enough bass volume isnt very high

Subwoofer distorts and craps out at medium volume. Lame. They need a higher quality woofer for the price they charged me. Its a bummer because I like the rest of it
