Took me about an hour and a half to get my new system going.

Very good surround and separation but muddy and uninteresting bass and sub bass

I love the surround sound. It's so crisp and clear.

A wonderful starter home theater system to own and upgrade!

It's an ok system, not as loud as I expected, the set up wasn't too bad.

Had trouble connecting to my tv. I had to ask around to get it connected right because the instructions did not have enough troubleshooting problems. Stressing...

The best part of this system is the receiver, it has great features for a receiver and I love that. The issue is that the subwoofer doesn't really hit the lows as expected. I love bass!!! But this sub is too forceful for music and ok for movies

I needed to upgrade my surround sound system after having problems with my Samsung blu ray surround sound. I didn't want to purchase a receiver and speakers separately so I settled on this Yamaha system. I was ecstatic to see I could order an open box in like new condition at more than $100 less than the regular price. The product I received was very disappointing. It was evident it had been returned and all of the packaging/styrofoam was not in the box. As soon as I picked it up, I could hear the speakers rattling around as it was shipped out just the way it was probably returned in the store. The speakers have a black, piano finish on them and they were all scratched up. The receiver had a dent on the top. After calling customer service and getting a discount, I decided to keep it and set it up only to find out it would not power on. I was able to exchange it in store. The actual product I would give a 5 out of 5, No complaints about the performance. Only thing I would mention is after running the YPAO, you might want to turn up the center speaker. When watching certain shows or sports, it seemed like the background noise could sometimes over power the center speaker. That is correctable by turning up the center speaker in the settings or there is a setting to turn up the dialogue volume. Coming from a passive sub to a powered sub was huge as well. The sub is very strong without overpowering the system. There are so many settings to tweak the system just how you like it. Overall, the product is great and the customer service surrounding the problems I had was great as well. It's unfortunate I had to deal with those to begin with.

instructions & function of buttons didn’t match went thru it 4x before realizing. Finally got all components to work but buttons on front do not function correctly.

It's passible, but in all honesty the speakers sound terrible compared to something like the Klipsch speakers. I bought for my gaming rig, so I didn't need a massive home theater system, just something to improve the gaming experience. It falls short quite a bit. Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 sound signifcantly better, even without 5.1 surround. Even my cheap VIZIO sound bar sounds better than this thing.

This is a decent option for a basic home theater setup. My home theater room was already set up for 7.1, so this didn’t fit my current setup.

The remote start working shortly after purchase. Could no longer turn volume up and down.

Was expecting to be blown away with this system. Sound quality is ok. Could probably get something better for the same price range.
