I bought this for my streaming set up on a pretty solid sale, and as a Nintendo girlie at heart, I'm such a fan of this keyboard. Admittedly, I haven't had a chance to use it too much, but the keys are clicky, solid, and the build is great! Really excited to use this in my streams!

Build quality is better than I expected. Not only does this keyboard come with additional accessories, but it is a mechanical keyboard with the right amount of tactile feedback. This is perfect for my use case as I needed a wireless mechanical keyboard without backlight that can last longer.

This Mechanical Keyboard is a fantastic choice for anyone who loves retro aesthetics. Its design, inspired by classic Nintendo consoles, is eye-catching and nostalgic. The keyboard itself is well-built, offering a smooth typing experience with its Kailh Box V2 switches. The Dual Super Buttons are a great addition for enhancing productivity.

    Nintendo Keyboard by 8bitdo

I'm late to the trend, BUT, I've been eye-balling this for awhile. First and foremost, I grew up with the original NES and older systems (Atari 2600, commodore 64, typical arcade). So I'm a long time fan of many things Nintendo. When I stumbled upon 8bitdo a few years back, I've been watching them grow and change their line-up of products. When this debuted, I knew I had to have it, but I kept putting it off (adulting sucks!) then low and behold - there it was at Best Buy, the price was right and I had some extra cash to splurge. So far I've used it on my big screen TV and my Mac Mini, gaming, chatting. The keyboard feels nice to type on and the extra large A&B buttons are fun to smash! If you're a nostalgic fan such as myself, this is definitely an item to use and add to your collection if you haven't done so yet!

The feel of the keys is great. The price was right. The additional peripherals are gimmicky but that's part of the reason one buys these things. I don't see myself using them that much, but the keyboard alone is great. Not just great for the price, but really, really good overall.

[Employee of bestbuy] Stabilizers were pretty good and balanced. I replaced the switches and would recommend tape modding and putting foam/some type of filling in the keyboard since it sounds pretty hollow. The software is a little confusing, but after watching a video or two it's not too bad.

This keyboard works and feels great. After about a month of use, I still haven't tried the buttons or joystick that came with it, but they seem like a fun idea for maybe some retro games. The design hits the nostalgia feel, and the quality is great too.

I bought the 8BitDo Retro Keyboard mostly for the aesthetic, but I was genuinely blown away by the quality and features—it quickly became my favorite daily driver. This is not a gimmicky piece of hardware; it’s one of the best mechanical keyboards I've ever owned, blending that classic NES/Famicom look with modern performance. The build quality is superb, with a robust shell and durable PBT keycaps that feel fantastic under the fingers. The typing experience is pure joy. The Kailh Box White switches are satisfyingly clacky, tactile, and responsive—giving you that wonderful, old-school mechanical sound. Plus, the board is hot-swappable, so you can easily customize the switches later if you want a different feel. What truly sets this keyboard apart are the Dual Super Buttons. Being able to program these massive, dedicated buttons for complex macros (like launching programs or executing in-game sequences) instantly, without needing external software open, is a game-changer for both productivity and gaming. Add to that the seamless tri-mode connectivity (2.4G, Bluetooth, Wired), and you have a keyboard that works flawlessly in any scenario. If you’re a fan of retro style, or if you’re just looking for a superb, feature-packed mechanical keyboard that includes incredible macro capabilities right out of the box, stop looking. This is a five-star product, period. Highly, highly recommended!

Great keyboard with great features and the fit-n-finish to match. The included buttons and joystick are a bit of a novelty for me so far, but are appreciated nonetheless. They keys have a great, high quality feel. It sounds amazing. The included accessories like the "Mario brick" style dongle and the embossed type c cable are a nice touch. The volume knob is endlessly helpful, the programmable buttons are intuitive. Lots of great things to say about this keyboard. So nice I even bought a second one.

Awesome keyboard, with an NES theme. It comes with a wireless adapter if you don't want to rely on bluetooth. Keys are clicky. Extra buttons are programmable. Joystick is all right.

It's decent enough, keyboard is smooth for typing, though I wish it had backlit keys. Volume control and such is nice feature. The design is neat if you are a retro fan like me. Big buttons and joystick are fun to setup with gaming or basic quick tap controls for whatever you need done quickly. I jus hate it all has to be attached to the keyboard, it would have been nice if you could use both wireless or wired.

The key strokes feel great while typing, not overly hard to punch while still slightly clicky. The aesthetic reminds me of late 80’s computer lab. The joystick and big buttons take up a fair amount of real estate on my desk so i haven’t used them much. I haven’t really found a game that actually still utilizes the old stick yet.

According to mini-humans, I'm now very cool cause I have a VINTAGE keyboard. The keyboard works great so far, the keys click exactly as satisfyingly as you would imagine. I was looking for something to add to my work from home set-up and opted for this purchase as soon as I saw the color palette and the joysticks. Keyboard isn't too narrow and fits under my laptop stand perfectly. 10/10 would buy again, especially since I got the set discounted. I have mostly been using the wired connector and it was an easy plug and play set-up.
