It usually takes two rounds of making ice before the cubes are in top form. Also, the colder the water you put in to the maker the quicker the ice cubes reach top form.

I make bags of ice each use and freeze them so I don't have to use the machine constantly. I love it! It is enough for what I need. The first one last just over a year. This time I bought the extended warranty.
