Cool concept but horrible execution. And I do mean execution. Of vampires that is (by our 16th president).

This movie is sort of entertaining. Nothing special about it at all.

Costuming and tech aspects good. Simpleminded plot.

I never heard of the book before the movie came out. When I saw the first poster for this movie in the lobby of the local theater, I thought this was a joke. When I took a closer look at the poster I noticed this is a Tim Burton film. Burton does have crazy ideas. I do not think I would have gone to this film if it was not done by him. I did not know what to expect because there were not many trailers available for this film either. I found out this was adapted from a book about a week before this was released to the theater so I did not read the book. Within the first five minutes of the film I knew from the style of film Burton did not direct this. I thought this was going to be a disappointment. It was not. What I liked most about the movie is it did not go between a drama and a quirky comedy. There were not any cute puns (which I absolutely hate) to change the tone of the story or the characters. The script stayed on track. Many critics blamed the movie for taking itself too seriously. I think it did the right thing. If it would have gone between drama and comedy it would have not had a purpose. This movie is fun despite the fact it is a drama. It tells the alternative story of Abraham Lincoln. I know there are not vampires and this movie was not attempting to convince people there are. It is clearly a piece of serious fiction like 'The DaVinci Code.' If people want an escape from reality with some fun storytelling and great action sequences this is a great movie to see!

Ended up having to buy a new 3D Blu-ray player to watch this because mine from last year won't play it :/ Samsung E5900 ftw... Like others, I was quite surprised by this movie. When I first heard about the movie I just rolled my eyes and passed it off as something absurd. However, it's actually a really good movie. Action from start to finish. Honest Abe lays a serious smackdown on vamps here. The movie takes you through all stages of Lincoln's life as a kid, young adult, and over the hill as he's in the White House. Think he was swinging that axe even better in his 50s than in his 20s! This was the first 3D movie I've watched at home and I was thoroughly impressed by the effects. Didn't get any headaches or anything. Loved seeing the heads go flying or the hanging blood splatter from an axe to the face. Extras are apparently on the Blu-ray disc, but I was too lazy to swap the disc out for it and put in some anime instead. And..."still a better love story than Twilight".

Though this was a very good storyline and an interesting twist on vampire hunters, I am not a big fan of movie producers, writers and directors that "ADD" some previously unknown talents or abilities to "historical" figures. I love a good movie and especially one that "takes me" somewhere new and unseen previously. BUT ... not made-up with people who really lived. "Blade" series was so much better than this film. But I must admit the look and feel of the movie were excellent. Just please let Lincoln rest in peace.

I went on vacation last year and visited Springfield, Illinois and the various Lincoln related sites there. On the way, I visited his mother's grave and where he lived in Indiana. I also visited his father's grave and visited the site where he was raised in Illinois. During the trip, I read and studied almost everything about Lincoln. It was amazing how the film related to actual history that I had fresh in my mind. I've been to Gettysburg and Washington, DC sites too. History re-written!

You have to like movies for this one - its going along for the ride just to see where they will take ya. If you are expecting Spielbergs Lincoln - you will be disappointed - if you are looking for fun - it has good moments enough to keep you entertained. Vampires mixed with history - they took something that sounded so ridiculas and made it into something enjoyable.

Good movie if your into vampires and American History. Abe Lincolin Mother was killed by a vampire and it interesting twist into American history. It walks threw his lift as a young Lawyer, President, Freedom fighter, equal right, To Gettyburg. Plus vampires.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a great movie. It keeps you on edge although there are some slower moments. The 3-D depth/experience could've been a little more breathtaking. However, you can improve the 3D depth a little bit by adjusting the 3D settings on your television or bluray player.

How can this movie be good? It just didn't seem possible, but it's not just good, it's great. As long as you're willing to roll with the premise, this is one of the most fun and entertaining movies you can watch. Other than the vampire premise itself, it even has a good bit of historic accuracy.

The Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is an amazing twist on history. It tells the Lincoln story, but from a vampire perspective. I think this will get the young kids attention and they'll learn something about history as well. Much more interesting to watch than the "Lincoln" movie.

This movie is pretty awesome! Based off the name and the premise I thought it was going to be dumb, but it really surprised me. It's great!

This movie delivers exactly what it promises. It is an absurd summer action movie. The name of the movie should tell you exactly what to expect. It is pretty fun to kick back and watch a film that makes no pretense at being serious. I cannot recommend purchasing this movie, as I can't imagine too many would want to watch more than once. However, it is worth a watch. If you see it on sale for cheap, you won't be disappointed.

Abe Lincoln vampire hunter is a fairly well done action movie, though chronicle wasn't as good as i had thought it would be

At first i thought is was going to another low buget rubbish.Wrong the movie was good i really liked it see it you won't be sorry.

Don't know why this movie got slammed so much. It's not a history movie, just watch it and enjoy it as an action movie.

If you like scary movies this is the one. The plot is great and the graphics are amazing.

Never got to see this movie while it was in theaters, and I regret it! Overall, it was great! Good effects, good story-line, and a bit of humor. Great on blu-ray for an awesome price!

Great 3D, no blurring. Story line is what it is but still decent. The CGI was fantasic. Well worth $20.
