Excellent monitor at this price point. It will not have the pop of an OLED (organic LED) monitor which will provide better picture quality, but OLED displays are much more expensive. That being said I did find that this unit produced very bright colors and handled mid-range gaming with ease – no color bleed and very sharp images - nice. Bear in mind this unit has a very basic but usable stand and does not have speakers. I didn’t want a monitor with speakers as it is quite easy to find a Bluetooth speaker with terrific sound at a very affordable price to pair with this monitor and your desktop or laptop. There is no webcam so if that is important, you need to add a webcam to your setup. There is a VGA port and an HDMI port, no Display Port. A Display Port will handle faster refresh rates and higher resolutions. But since the specifications on this unit would not support a Display Port level of performance, then the lack of this port is of no concern if you are looking for a great IPS 1080p unit; this would be an excellent monitor at an attractive price. I did want to see how this monitor would handle various monitor tests to see if at the lower price the key specifications would still reflect a high-quality experience. Here’s a summary of what I found: Test Pattern colors were brilliant and actually popped off the screen and the color gradients showed no banding. I did not see any defective pixels with a full screen of black, white, red, green or blue – nice, and that means great quality of production and manufacturing; tip of the cap to the engineers. Brightness was quite equally distributed across an entirely grey screen – perfect. A Sharpness test showed crisp and clean text at the various font-size levels I used – display was absolutely wonderful. Viewing angle was the one area I felt this monitor was weaker. I found that moving left to right at various distances I could see the test images ‘change’ too much. However, in a gaming environment or constructing an animated presentation, this did not interfere since I was very much directly in front of the monitor. If you have a need to do demos for several people surrounding the monitor, then I’d suggest a different monitor for that purpose. That was not my need. Overall, I found the simplicity of setup, basically plug and play (2 minutes) was great. This unit is lightweight but very solid. The stand supports the monitor quite firmly. I also found the overall performance of this monitor to be excellent as well and I would highly recommend it for the type of functions I outlined above.

As an avid gamer, this monitor is small and probably not my daily driver. That said, I recently had the opportunity to test out the new Acer Nitro 23.8” IPS FHD FreeSynce gaming monitor and was pleasantly surprised by the immersive experience at such an affordable entry level price point. This monitor delivers as advertised and can be enjoyed by anyone as long as the user understands this is not a top tier gaming monitor. As an entry level monitor, the Acer Nitro would make a wonderful desktop or laptop companion monitor for smaller working spaces. For day to day work and computer use, the 100Hz refresh rate is more than enough and will provide a crisp and clean viewing display. For the record, I typically could only make it pull about 75Hz. For gaming purposes, this monitor is better than your average 60Hz television and runs at 1ms response time. The screen is IPS LED and provides a vivid display at 1920x1080 resolution. This also makes those vivid colors equally vivid at different viewing angles. The AMD FreeSynce offers added value by helping with screen tearing, offering preset color settings, and other enhancing features not normally found in monitors at this price point. The design of the unit is a sleek, lightweight but sturdy minimalistic look. There are some drawbacks to this monitor, but at this price, they are not worth mentioning. This is a solid choice for anyone as long as you understand that you are not buying a top of the line. It will, however, feel like, at times, you did buy top of the line.

Setting up the monitor was very easy, a simple snap of the base, stand, monitor, and hinged screw. No tools needed. Comes with included HDMI cable. The user-friendly on-screen display (OSD) menu provides access to various settings for customization, including color adjustments, gaming presets, and blue light filters for reduced eye strain during extended use. In terms of affordability, this monitor is an excellent value for the price. It competes with higher-priced models in terms of performance and features, making it a budget-friendly option for anyone looking for a reliable and feature-packed monitor. So, first off, I'm not really sure why any modern gaming monitor needs VGA over DisplayPort considering that so many graphics cards these days tend to have one HDMI output and multiple DisplayPort outputs. This feels like something that would be more at home on an office monitor or something. That aside, the monitor does work pretty well. I appreciate the fact that the power connector is a standard cable rather than some barrel adapter, and while I'm not a fan of the glossy finish for the base the panel itself looks good enough. I do like the small bezels. It would be cool if the power button were on the bottom rather than the back where I have to feel around for it. I also like that it can be easily disassembled and put back in the box - it made it easy to transport to a LAN party. In terms of gaming performance, it's pretty decent. It's not the crispest display ever, but it's not prone to glare as much as some displays I've used. It's capable of keeping up with 60FPS gameplay (which is what I generally shoot for on most games these days), and the colors aren't bad. It's got decent brightness as well. The viewing angle is comfortably wide, which is good considering that unless you mount it this monitor isn't hugely adjustable (the stand does not change height). Overall, I'd say that this monitor would be a good entry-level one. I'd not recommend it for someone who's looking for the best of the best or a multi-monitor setup; but it would be ideal for someone who's building their first serious gaming PC for 1080p 60FPS gaming. If you have a kid who's just getting into PC building or gaming, this would make a great gift for them for instance.

It comes with a HDMI cable for connection, but also has a VGA port to connect a VGA cable for connection. Movies appear in full cinematic display with a picture quality usually only seen with a top of the line television. For starters, I notice occasional screen glitches, which, while potentially related to a weak internet connection, was still irksome. As a gaming monitor, this fault absolutely undermines the gaming experience, especially during fast-paced activities or crucial scenes. Compounding this issue, the graphics leave something to be desired. They lack a crispness that could elevate visual engagement, and there is little range in terms of colors and brightness. Beyond the visual aspects, I also find that I am not able to receive any audio after connecting the monitor to a computer or game console unless I use some external headphones. This is forgivable, however, since headphones do make for a more immersive experience. On a positive note, 24 inches is a very comfortable and practical screen size, larger than my own desktop but not excessive or bulky. Navigating through settings to make adjustments is very simple and the monitor is fairly responsive. On the whole, the Acer KA2 monitor positions itself as a mid-tier option. Its modest performance doesn't excite, but it presents a fine choice for someone not looking for anything fancy. With its fair share of drawbacks and a handful of positives, it lands somewhere around a 6 or 7 out of 10 - a decent choice that doesn't push the boundaries but doesn't fall terribly short either.

I got this monitor at my local best buy for my son and its very good for its price. My son really likes it plus hes been wanting to get a monitor but some are too expensive. I think this is the best quality monitor for its price

The Acer - KA242Y Ebi 23.8" IPS LED FreeSync Monitor is an all around good monitor. It’s great for everyday task, Office Work, as well as Gaming. The monitor was very easy to setup. No problems at all mounting the included stand to the monitor. The monitor stand can be adjusted via tilt, but it cannot be adjusted up or down. It might be a slight challenge for anyone that has never setup a monitor before because the font in the instructions are quite small. It would be nice to have larger font and illustrations for those that have never put a monitor and stand together. The monitor has 4 screw holes which will allow you to connect it to a vesa mount. It includes an HDMI cable for connecting to your computer device. There’s also a VGA port for connecting to the monitor as well. There’s no headphone jacket for AUX output, therefore you will not be able to use the monitor for sound. The screen is good quality and is also matte. This helps to keep reflection and lights in the background to a minimal. Overall, I’m pleased with this monitor and hope to get years of use from it.

The Acer Nitro "23.8 IPS LED model KA242Y is a good budget IPS monitor that features FreeSync and a 100Hz refresh rate. It has a single HDMI and VGA input with a removable fixed monitor stand and a standard VESA mounting pattern allowing you to either use the included stand or add your own. The top and side bezels are very thin allowing you to mount other monitors around this one and to keep a good look with relatively little gap between monitors. I feel like this is a great budget gaming monitor and I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to get a decent secondary monitor. It's smaller size, at least in my opinion, wouldn't make this a great primary display unless you are looking for something to hook your laptop up to, and in that case it would be a great alternative to most laptop displays. With only the single HDMI and VGA input you are a bit limited if you want to use multiple devices with this display, and if that is your use case I would recommend either a docking station or an HDMI splitter allowing you to attach multiple devices to this single monitor.

Perfect for the budget office. They are aesthetically pleasing. The mount does not go up and down but does have the ability to adjust the angle.

This monitor is a value for the money. Very easy to set up. I was pleased with the quality. One note that you do need to use speakers for sound.
