Very nice monitor at it's price point
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure that I would agree with the zero frame claim since there is still about a 7mm bezel but it is pretty slim none the less. I have another 27" acer that is a few years old and it's bezel is like 10mm so they have definately trimmed it down. I've used the monitor for several different things on my PC including games and can say that the picture quality and response is very good. The menu buttons location and on screen controls are pretty similar to my older acer with a little cleaner and simpler layout. There are 8 preset display modes with noticeable differences. I usually prefer to leave it on the eco setting since my room is kind of dark unless watching a video or playing a game. I kind of wish the power cord plugged directly into the monitor instead of having a power brick but it at least is fairly small, has a long cord and it easy to hide away. The monitor has 1 each of HDMI, DVI, and VGA ports. Not really sure these days why manufacturers are still including VGA ports but you get one if you ever need to connect to an older computer. The monitor also has a built-in speaker when using HDMI which sounds about as meh as any monitor speaker I've ever heard but there if you need it. Looked at some test images at www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ and I would say it passed most every one as far as I could tell. The only feature that I really wasn't able to utilize though is the AMD Radeon FreeSync since my graphics card is an Nvidia.
