Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the screen size, ease of use, and price as significant advantages. Positive feedback also frequently mentions the resolution, HDMI connectivity, and clarity of the display. While some users appreciate the refresh rate, a common drawback cited is the lack of built-in speakers. Minor concerns were also raised regarding the monitor's base and potential glare.

I have been impressed with this monitor. I will say though, it is much better suited for general computer use than gaming. While it is compatible with freesync technology, the panel itself is only 60hz. Games will still look crisp and play fine, but you will be limited to 60fps. If you target 60fps, then this is a great looking panel for the price, but if you need 100+ fps for competitive shooters, you will need to look for a higher refresh rate monitor. As a general use screen though, the panel is bright, colors look crisp to me. Overall this will be a great primary or secondary monitor for someone that wants some extra size in their screen and is not concerned with high fps gaming. They physical design of the monitor is attractive, with slim bezels that make the unit look more expensive than it is while sitting on a desk.

I needed this monitor for my home office to use when I work from home. It works and the picture is nice and bright. There is little glare in my sometimes bright home office. It took me a while to dial in the settings to my liking. The black assist setting is strange. I had to turn it down to zero, otherwise everything looks faded. Overall a great monitor and great value for office use.

Good for those who want to stay at 1080p

This ACER 27" FHD monitor is an ok monitor. For any gamer who is looking to stay on 1080p and want a larger screen than your standard 24", this is not a bad choice by any means. Although it is only 60Hz, it does have freesync which will smooth out your frame rates when gaming. Out of the box, you get your standard equipment. You have your screen, stand, power cable, and a VGA cable. It is a little disappointing how they could not have at least included a dvi cable since this is a gaming monitor. The assembly of the product was very easy and straight forward. You do have to tighten the screens quite hard or else the monitor will wobble at the slightest touch. After you have it assembled, you can pivot and that's all the range of motion you have. The ports in the back also face outwards, so if you were planning on wall mounting this you might need to get right angle adapters for your display cable. On the back you only get VGA, DVI, and HDMI ports. I'm quite surprised they did not include a display port cable for a gaming monitor. The software on the monitor is quite standard. You get your usual gaming assists and mode select. I do like how easy it is to navigate the menus, sometimes it's fustrating knowing which buttons to press. After gaming many hours with this monitor, it does hold up quite well. The colors are bright and vivid, and the freesync definitely works to smooth out the framerate. Overall, I like the monitor but I do not love it. There were quite a few things that Acer could have added to make this monitor worth its price tag (more adjustable stand, more display ports, higher refresh rate). However, as a 27" 1080p monitor, it does excel in providing a larger display for gaming and productivity.

If you are in the market for a good all around monitor that won’t break the bank, this is a good choice. I primarily use this as a second monitor while using my laptop with music recording software. While it may not be as sharp as a more expensive model, the colors are vibrant and pleasing once set up for your tastes. With a little tweaking using the monitor buttons and on-screen display, I was able to get the blacks a little deeper and the colors a little more vibrant. The brightness is a little bit lacking, but certainly on par for this type of monitor. For most standard applications, this monitor is great. Office software such as spreadsheets benefit from the size of the display. That said, the text (even with ClearType turned on) is nowhere near as sharp as I would prefer (only 100 pixels per inch). I am used to viewing (and have been spoiled by) a 5K iMac, but it is unfair to compare the two because this monitor is only 1080 and doesn’t have a retina display. This monitor is pretty versatile. Having HDMI, VGA, and DVI inputs, you can hook up plenty of sources depending on what you’d like to view. If they wanted to take it up a notch, they could make it compatible with Mac’s and also think about including Mini DisplayPort and/or USB ports. The built in speaker will get you by in a pinch, but you will want to monitor your audio from other speakers or headphones for best results. Having an anti-glare screen is a nice touch and does work quite well. All in all, there are definitely pros and cons, as there is with most tech. For my use, it works wonderfully. Monitors seem to be getting cheaper and cheaper in terms of price these days. I can remember when a monitor like this would have been at least double, if not triple the cost. PROS: Affordable large monitor with a 60 Hz refresh rate HDMI input VESA wall mountable Anti-glare screen Colorful Light CONS: Pixelated text (only 100 pixels per inch) Only 1080 resolution Speaker

A great monitor for work or entertainment

The Acer 27-inch LED FHD FreeSync Monitor is a bright and vivid display which can be used for a wide array of tasks ranging from business to personal entertainment. Even though this monitor is 60 hertz and has a 4-millisecond response time, you can still do quite a bit with it. Gaming on this monitor is on par with this typical run of the mill caliber of monitors. On board you have access to quick display settings to adjust the monitor’s various settings such as brightness, contrast, colors, and so forth to fit what you are doing. Instead of using a typical power cable, like the one that you might find when using a regular desktop computer, the Acer 27-inch LED FHD FreeSync Monitor comes with a small power brick, like one that you might use with a laptop computer. So, if something were to happen to the power brick, it would be a bit more difficult to replace. This is a minor issue, since you can easily find a DVI-D or HDMI cable, but you only get a VGA cable for connecting your monitor to your desktop or laptop, even though the monitor also supports DVI-D and HDMI. The tilting mechanism is decent and allows for easy viewing whether on your feet, sitting down in a chair, or even slightly slumped into your chair. Unfortunately, you do not get any sort of cable management in the form of a hole in between the monitor and the base for the stand. You also do not get any sort of height adjustment, so if you are on the taller end of the height scale, you can tilt the monitor, but you can’t get the monitor to be eye level with you. In addition to the built-in display outputs, you also get a 3.5mm audio out to connect an external set of speakers straight to the monitor. This allows you to take advantage of the HDMI cable for both audio and video data transfers and connect the 3.5mm cable directly to the monitor instead of having to route the cable to the back of the computer. However, I do wish that the monitor had some built-in speakers in case I don’t have an external speaker available. Overall, the Acer 27-inch LED FHD FreeSync Monitor is a great 27-inch monitor to use for just about anything. From performing work tasks, playing the occasional game, or watching a video or movie.

    Great Looking 27" Monitor

If you've been wanting a larger monitor than your current one, consider the Acer S271HL LED monitor. This monitor produces a superb 1920 x 1080 sharp image on screen. It features AcerVisionCare, a screen technology designed to reduce eyestrain during long viewing periods. Installation was extremely simple. This was connected to a Mac. The only step was to connect the included power cord and HDMI cable to the Mac and look at that great 27" image. No additional setup was necessary! The only negative was that there were minimal instructions about connecting the base to the monitor with no diagrams. It was very simple to attach, but I had to figure it out on my own. If you want a larger monitor with a crisp display, check out the Acer S271HL For under $140 you just can't beat it!

Purchased for my 16 year old son, had an old 20". This monitor is not a 'gaming' monitor but he insists its awesome. I'm not a gamer but from what I saw it seemed to do the job well. I got it a week before Christmas for $119 and there were others in 27" to choose from. Read reviews and glad I made a good choice. I'm sure I could have spend load more but in the end both of us are happy. He was able to have it set up and using it in no time at all.
