Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Nitro 5's performance, graphics capabilities, and backlit keyboard. Positive feedback also highlights its price, display, and storage options, along with its sturdy build. However, some users note that the battery life could be improved, and that the fan noise and heat generation are potential drawbacks. The weight of the laptop and the sound quality of the speakers also received some negative comments.

I love acer products so for me it was a no brainer to buy this laptop to get started into PC gaming. It was a very good price for what it is and what it offers. Best deal you will find.

    Decent bang for the buck

After my MSI GS63VR died on me while travelling, I was in urgent need of a decent gaming laptop . Narrowed it down instore to the Acer Nitro 5 or the Asus Tuf A15. Both have 144hz displays ,Nvidia 3050TI dedicated GPU's and 512GB SSD storage. I went with the Nitro 5 for the following reasons :- 1. It comes with 16GB of RAM vs the 8GB on the Asus. Admittedly it is DDR4 3200 Mhz vs the DDR5 4800 Mhz on the Asus, but what I use the laptop for doesn't really require that faster RAM speed. 2. The price. At $849 vs the Asus at $879 (which I would have had to purchase another 8GB of RAM for to benefit from dual channel), the Acer was a better bang for my buck. 3. The keyboard. To me it was better than the Asus. My one complaint is the battery life. Don't expect more than 2 hrs from it. Which isnt a major issue since I rarely use it unplugged.

It’s not the fastest nor does it have a top tier video card but for the price it plays all the games I want it to and more on high settings. The backlit keyboard is a definite plus.

Ran applications well. Not bad as far as gaming. Battery life was really poor. If you had this thing off of thw hook on optimum settings for more than an hour you were getting to the 27% batter mark at a constant.

For an affordable laptop that really packs a punch, look no further than the Acer Nitro 5. Whether it's for work or for play, the Nitro 5 stands out as your go-to machine to keep you productive and entertained. Aside from the red corners, the black shell isn't much to look at, but the overall build is nice and sturdy. It has a glossy finish, so unfortunately I already see lots of fingerprints gathering throughout the top lid. On the underside, four rubber grips give the machine a slight lift, to the benefit of the unit's dual fans. It's not the most portable of laptops, so be prepared to set up shop somewhere whenever you use it. Battery life is average, as gaming for long periods of time with optimal settings will really bleed it dry very quickly. The keys have a soft, rubber feel to them, and some of the button positions need some familiarization, but overall it's a great layout that utilizes its space very well. Performance is top notch. With 16GB of RAM out of the box, the Nitro 5 can handle almost anything you throw at it. The processor itself isn't the most powerful, but multitasking between gaming, streaming, and working is seamless. Most games should run very smoothly with the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, and on this full HD screen, they look bright and beautiful as well. One thing I think worth noting is the utilization of NitroSense on this machine, allowing you to monitor and adjust your CPU temperatures, fan speeds, and power, as well as letting you customize your keyboard lighting effects among other things. The Nitro 5 runs games well and reliably; it's really that simple. Overall, the Acer Nitro 5 stands out for its reliability, power, and great performance. Highly recommended for serious and casual gamers alike.
