Shorted Out 1 Month After Warranty Expired
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The machine worked fine for the first 12 months I had it. Ran every game I played just fine. Until it shorted out, just one month after my warranty expired. Not sure what caused it to short out, it was running fine one moment, and then nothing. Customer service wouldn't honor the warranty since it was 1 month past the 1 year warranty period, which was frustrating. Acer will do out of warranty repairs, but for this model, there is a $700.00 up front repair cost, so it is cheaper to buy a new one. Very frustrating customer sercice experience. Unhappy customer here.

And its not too expensive for what your getting. Its really good overall in all catagories and you could always upgrade the storage and ram.

Regardless, last week I was using this laptop and it said it had a 0% charge. I thought that was weird, but maybe I forgot to shut it down and it just lost battery. This week, same issue. I left it plugged in over night and all day while I was at work. I get home, open it up, and here it is 0% battery still. It works while plugged in, but the battery is fried. I did not get the warranty because why would I. Now I am regretting it, though it should not have died this quickly. I am unsure if I have the receipt anymore, or if it is within the usual 90 day return policy window. All in all, the laptop is pretty good but without a decent battery I absolutely cannot recommend this product.
