purchased a $800 laptop just for it to not turn on. charge light won't turn on either. I see I am not the only one who had this issue I will be returning tomorrow.

Had it for two weeks before it completely turned off an wouldn’t turn on again! DONT DO IT

I spent over 1000 dollars on something to crash 3 times with one game and discord installed..

With so many options in laptops, desktops, graphics cards and peripherals, it can become easy to get caught up in the numbers game and the "what do I need" conundrum. At first glance, this system might be glanced over due to the specs, but it absolutely should be considered. I had the 15" older version, and felt the same way then that I do now. This is well worth the price of admission and performs above expectations. First, the build. 17" laptops always appear to be monstrous, but this Acer is relatively thin for it's size. That's a bonus for sure, because while laptops this size aren't typically scouted for travel, the size here makes it less cumbersome and more likely to be packed away for the trip vs. a smaller model. Keys are snappy and responsive and the RGB has great customization. Besides size of the body, the system feels extremely sturdy. I don't feel like I need to be delicate shuffling it around. The performance? Combine the beautiful 144HZ screen, the magic of DLSS and G-Sync, and the RTX-3050, and this pushes the limits of my expectations. All games played are smooth, stutter and lag free. Heat dissipation is good, and honestly, I have no complaints. While you may not physically push the higher frame rates, I can't make out the difference between this and my higher end systems. I'm sure purists will call that out, but for me, your average gamer, this fits the bill. What I haven't tried as of yet is connected to an external monitor and see how it goes. My review is based solely on solo laptop performance. To be expected, battery life is good/average and gets the best mileage during my "task work." All the necessary inputs/outputs are here, so a hub for me isn't necessary. That's it. A great system that has I need and the n some. Great for students and gamers alike.

Overall, the computer is pretty awesome! Only thing is, I didn't expect to have to press the fn key every time I need to increase the volume, or brighten the screen, or do a lot of other things. They need to remove that feature and have those stand-alone. Also, it's a little heavier than I'd anticipated. And for that price and size, you should've simply given it a whole TB HD. But other than that, the volume is really loud, the backlight is a nice feature (although, it's not various colors as the display image would suggest-- mine is red); I really like the fact that the charger is in the back and not on the side as other laps are; the 17.5" monitor is HUGE, it's super fast, the battery is super long-lasting. Off of one charge, I was able to go 8.5 full hours on a business trip before I could get back to my charger. The graphics are out of this world, and my son LOVES the gaming factor, although I got it for business purposes, because I needed a high-functioning, fast, and efficient laptop. Great buy and I'm glad I caught it on sale when I did! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BUY!

The Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop is a sub $1000 gaming laptop that performs much better than expected and the 17.3", 144Hz, 3ms response time HD IPS screen is the centerpiece of the laptop in my opinion. The laptop as a whole is great for the price but the 1080P screen with fast screen response is what makes this low level gaming laptop worth your first and most likely only choice to try and buy. I have 6 gaming laptops in my home for my kids, myself and my wife. The Acer Nitro 5 is the cheapest by $600 to the next one and this laptop is by far my favorite screen for FPS games due to the 144Hz and 3ms response time. Yes, I have 2160P and 4K $3k laptops but they both max out at no more than 75Hz and I can never get more than 100 frames per second out of either, this laptop with the 3050 video card overclocked, I have seen 162 frames per second, I was mind blown I am able to runt he laptop at this level of graphics with a 3050. To keep on going about the 3050 RTX, it is a Laptop base video card, it can handle a lot actually and does not overheat the computer either in anyway when maxed out and overclocked. The fans can get loud but not overbearing at all, it does its job to stay cool so you can keep on gaming. The DDR6 3050 with 4mb of memory is fast for processing and it shows, I cant get over how much better it does than my $3200 ROG gaming 4K laptop. Yes, the ROG looks better, but, with the 3080, it does not give me the massive frames per second and just better gaming experience this 1/3 price laptop does for me. Now, if I turn the 4K off and swap everything to run the 3080 in 1080P, it will demolish this laptop but again, it is 3 times the cost. Now, for the rest of the laptop, the 512GB SSD and 8MB of DDR4 ram makes use of the 12 core Intel Core i5 processor and uses it to the fullest extent when gaming big games like COD and Battlefield but yet never slows down or overheats. The WiFi consists of IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Gigabit Ethernet is also ready to go and 5.2 Bluetooth connectivity is ready as well. The backlit keyboard is easy to use in a dark bedroom and not too bright so the letters are super easy to read making my placement easy to check and get back online once I get off center or just forget where I am at with my finger placement. The touchpad is very responsive as well, utilizing the pad as a left and right click mouse as well, and it is easy along with knowing what is actually the left and right click. The laptop also has multiple USB-A and a USB-C connection as well as HDMI for a second monitor or a projector. Windows 11 also works great on this computer, no issues whatsoever with the operating system and after a month of use, we have yet to have a crash or the laptop to not open a program, it is a very solid device. Pros: Screen Long Battery Life Fast Charging SSD Hard drive Lots of USB ports Fast WiFi 6 Great keyboard Core i5 12 core processor 3050 RTX Graphics Cons: Feel of outer case feel a little cheap nothing else If you are looking for a sub $1000 laptop, I would highly recommend looking at this one before any others, it is a great choice and if you or your school child wants a gaming laptop to do homework on as well, this is the one.

When I first unboxed the Nitro 5, I was impressed by its bold design. It has that classic gamer look with a black chassis and customizable red accents that give it an aggressive vibe. Although the laptop is primarily plastic, it feels durable enough for everyday use—even when I’m on the go. I do wish it were a bit lighter, though; at around 5.5 lbs, it’s not the most portable option if you’re planning to travel frequently.

This has made my day..works great..I upgraded the ram to 24 gigs..I bought a 16 gig of ram from best buy for about 50$ and it plays halo infinite on all high specs..wonderful...I purchased from Bestbuy about 2 months ago and am overly pleased

This laptop is great. By far my favorite laptop I have used. The graphics are spectacular, it has AMAZING performance and its overall an outstanding laptop. To begin with, the screen, it works wonders in making sure you have the upper hand advantage by producing a 144hz refresh rate. For a laptop, I'd compare it to a desktop computer just based on how well it runs. The audio could have some upgrades but with some good headphones, it sounds terrific. I can go hours without the laptop overheating, running slow or even making the quality worse. The battery charged so fast that I barely feel like I lose any time waiting for it to finish. This laptop is the most bang for your buck if you ask me. I would recommend this laptop to any gamer in the market for a new laptop, a parent trying to get their kid a new laptop for christmas, birthday etc. or even if you are just trying to get you or a friend something nice. I'd definetly rate this laptop a 10/10. Games I have tested it on include Fortnite, Valorant, Minecraft, Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Roblox. I can say for sure this is the best laptop to have come out in the past 5-7 years.

I loved this laptop but had an issue with keyboard lighting and returned.

There are three categories for screen and his belongs in the bottom. Great graphics card plugged into a sub par display screen. It's like Mustang engine in a Pinto car, sure you can brag about the engine and maybe it runs but man are you an embarrassment. The screen CANNOT display full color range. Reds aren't showing up as anything but dull and washed out. The listing for the laptop does a lot to hide this critical failing. If you knew a head of time that the display was the cheap (not just inexpensive) version you might be okay because of the price point.

I just bought this a week ago and im getting too much fps drops.When im playing fortnite i get around 50-116fpsin creative only and in arena i get 30-80
