Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upon powering up the laptop and after the initial setup, I found that only the f, n, o, s and x keys work on the keyboard. The keypad is completely dead and only the 2, 5 and 7 number keys work. I jumped through the tech support hoops of "try this, try that" with nothing working. I've been in IT for 35 years and setup countless laptops while working as a Desktop Administrator. This is the first time I've ever had a laptop fail out of the box and this is my first time trying Acer. As someone else said, Acer wants me to ship this off to a repair depot. Are you insane??? It's now 4 hours old and they want me to have it repaired? How about investing in better quality control? As for their tech support, I won't be expecting an email from Acer as the second gentleman I spoke with had a difficult time figuring out how to spell me name, even using the NATO phonetic alphabet. Bordered on useless. I'll be returning the laptop and buying from a company I know does quality work.

Turns out there's a FREQUENT problem where the computer DOESNT turn on at all. The computer will charge perfectly fine. However, there's nothing you can do so it will turn on. I will be returning this immediately.

Poor Quality Product

The first was a 15" version of the Nitro 5, now this one. Both times the installation of Windows that was provided was corrupted which resulted in an extreme amount of BSODs. Even doing a normal "Reset This PC" using Acer's recovery partition didn't alleviate the issue. I literally had to download a Windows 10 ISO from their Media Creation Tool and completely delete and re-install Windows. For this product, the laptop had a hardware issue where the screen continuously flashed on and off rendering it unusable. Combining both the hardware and software issues, I returned the product for a different laptop.

Games perform well and it doesn’t overheat. The major issue is that they keyboard on the laptop does not work. It’s a severe issue in which I tried to get tech support and nothing works. Thankfully I was already planning to use external controls, but this is a severe issue.

Right out of the box a slew of keys on the keyboard didn't work. Exchanged it for the same one. Everything worked great, now 2 days ago, I'm having the same exact problem. A slew of keys don't work, and I'm SOL because I'm beyond the return period stuck with a paper weight of a laptop.
