    Awful experience

    I got one of these because my Razer motherboard fried after a year and a half of having it. Still have tons to pay off on it. So I needed something cheap. Got this. Brought it home. Half of the keys didn’t work. Took it back. Brought home another. Out of the box, the left speaker was blown. Now I’m stuck without a laptop because I don’t think I can do this again and be let down... again. My boyfriend has a USED, year old 15.6 inch one and it works fine. I don’t understand why my new 17.3 in. won’t work properly.

    Problems Came Quick

    My first initial thought was how great this laptop was for the price.. but by 3 months, It started To freeze and I though oh, it’s okay just once.. then It started To become more frequent which is a big problem. Its not Even one year yet and I’ve gotten so frustrated that I don’t want It. It freezes constantly, has slow start ups. I do not even have a lot my laptop. If i am lucky in some days, it actually runs fine.. The only thing it’s practically used for is to play league, literally, and maybe some small activities here and there like to print for school etc. I seriously want my money back.. should’ve invested in something else.

    So I just bought the laptop and it didn’t turn on I’ve seen really good stuff about the computer to once I get it replaced then I’ll update this review

    Broke after 2 weeks.

    I received this laptop on September 3rd, 2019, and it was broken by September 18th. I used it just about every day over the course of these 2 weeks, and when I went to use it tonight, it was unresponsive. I had it plugged in, and when I went to turn it on, the screen stayed black. The blue light on the side (which signals it's plugged in) turned on, but that was it. I let it sit on the charger for a while and tried again, but to no avail. Tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, but that didn't work either. It worked great while I could use it, but I'm beyond disappointed and obviously upset that it stopped working after only 2 weeks. I definitely expect to receive a new laptop or get my money back. This really isn't acceptable.

    Unreliable laptop

    I bought this laptop for work 4 months ago, and it has had multiple problems. The keyboard was almost always laggy and misses keystrokes frequently. As of recently, It will no longer power on. To have it repaired under warranty, I need to send the laptop all the way to Texas, and be without my work computer for 2 weeks, during which I will be without my files and work computer. Do not buy unless you are prepared to deal with many problems and can afford to send your machine in for weeks at a time. I will not be buying an Acer laptop again in the future.

    Nothing but problems from start to finish

    Out of the box the laptop was defective. It would not power on even after it was charged and apparently this is a relatively common issue. We sent it back and received another one which didn't turn on immediately either. After charging for a couple hours it turned on and worked fine. Fast forward 4 months and part of the keyboard stopped working and the laptop won't power up yet again. 4-6 weeks until I get yet another replacement. It's a good laptop when it works, but in 4 months I have already had to send it back twice and no laptop is worth that IMO. You're better off finding a different laptop for your money.

    Took 2 of them back

    Bought this Laptop and the hard drive was failing around the 3 week mark of using and it would lockup and give me the blue death screen . Got a replacement of the same Laptop and it started to run very noisy (not normal noise) coming from the thing and I felt it was only a matter of time until is messed up so I took it back and got a Lenovo Legion and it's been superb. I will never trust Acer again. The Acer Nitro was of pretty good build quality for the price, but under the hood not so much. 8GIG isn't enough ram either.

    Most Keys don't work

    How do you sell any type of laptop with most of the keys not working? My almost 6 year old HP laptop is typing out this review just fine. I bought this to replace that laptop. (Maybe I should've just bought an HP laptop yet again, instead?) A keyboard is the most basic thing for a desktop/laptop. So, for most of the keys to not function, and for ACER to not have recalled this from the market, is unfathomable to me.

    I can't believe there is no dvd player/writer. How can you expect to load a game if there is no drive to load it. Obvious oversight!

      We are sorry you are unhappy with your Acer purchase. The laptop not having an optical drive is by design, not oversight. More and more computers these days are shipping without optical drives as the push for Cloud storage and USB storage has been gaining ground. Also many software vendors offer the download direct from their site. We would suggest contacting the reseller from where you purchased the system to see what their exchange/refund policies are, and perhaps you can exchange it for one that has an optical drive. You can also use an external USB optical drive as an option, if necessary if you cannot return the computer.
