    Steller Gaming Monitor

The Acer Nitro XV1 is a Steller gaming monitor with all of the perks you could ask for. The base and cylinder are a nice change from most monitors, it can swivel 90 to make it a portrait monitor when you need to read some lengthy game tutorial. You can raise it, lower it to about any height that you need, to set up for a long gaming night. When you get a chance check out the Acer Display Widget Utility Software. Not only can you set up the monitor for some high speed gaming. You can set up the monitor for split screens and with a 27” monitor you have enough room to game and see your optics on the side. The Nitro XV1 has AMD Freesync, can be overclocked to amazing 280Hz refresh rate, and has a 0.5ms response time. No issues with tearing, ghosting, or lagging with this monitor, set your setting at full throttle, and let the slaughter begin. It’s time to test your skills with this beast and just hope your rig can keep up.

Excellent Monitor for the PC Gamer

The Acer Nitro XV271 is an overall quality gaming monitor providing fabulous display capabilities, with the major deficit being sound quality of the internal speakers. From opening the box to display – less than 10 minutes. I must applaud Acer for the packaging. Quick to remove stand base from the box, wires were well packaged and easy to remove, and overall a well-cut two-piece of Styrofoam for the monitor. One of my favorite aspects of this monitor, was the screw for the base. It had a piece that could flip up and be used to tighten the screw, rather than need a screwdriver. So simple and convenient, I know it sounds silly, but it was such a relief to not have to go and grab a screwdriver. The monitor just fastens into place on the stand, and you are ready to go. Look at the images of the stand prior to purchase, and make sure that the stand goes with your overall look as the shape and presentation is distinct. There is 1 DP cable and 1 HDMI cable included along with the power cable; making everything for setup in the box. There are a total of 2 HDMI and 1 DP inputs; allowing for multiple devices hooked up at once and toggle between displays. The monitor has an interesting control button on the back, it is a joy-stick style button that works quite nicely. There are pre-set modes for Gaming action, racing, and sports. There are adjustments for brightness and contrast of picture, and some other picture settings including HDR toggle, blue light, sharpness, and a “max” brightness. As expected in a display, color temperature can be changed. And of course, for gaming, there is AMD FreeSync. The best advice I have here is to change the setting from the default ECO mode to whatever you believe fits your style the most. I found ECO mode to be quite dull compared to my preferred brightness for display. With the AMD FreeSync, Acer boasts that gaming framerate will be determined by graphics card and PC settings versus the monitor. This is a dynamic system to create smooth display. Previously, I was using a more primitive monitor, which after conversation with a hardcore gaming friend of mine had concluded fixing my frame rate because of my display. So, for years now I have been playing games at 60fps FIXED, rather than allowing higher framerates because the display could not keep up. This is no longer a problem; and it is absolutely satisfying. I have been able to play Final Fantasy XIV, GTA5, and Warzone with beautiful display. All 3 of these games ran smoothly on the monitor (emphasis on smooth) and I finally feel that my CPU and graphics card are the limiting factor of gameplay, rather than an outdated monitor. The monitor was designed with image display in mind, and with that I almost feel the speakers were overlooked but still included. Of course, one does not buy a monitor necessarily for sound; however, when investing in this caliber of a monitor for display purposes AND it includes speakers you would for quality sound. With computer volume at 100 (and the internal monitor volume raised also – this defaulted to 70%), I was not at all blown away; rather, a moderate level sound at 100%. I would not be proud to show a YouTube video or movie to a friend in the same room with the overall quality. Overall, I am impressed at the display options available and the ability of the monitor to not be the limiting factor in my computer setup.

This gaming monitor blows all others out of the water! The graphics are unprecedented. The up-to 280HZ refresh rate and 0.5 millisecond response time make gaming so much more fun. FreeSync prevents screen tearing which is so useful for games like Call of Duty. The display options and blue light shield make it possible to sit in front of the monitor for hours on end without straining your eyes or developing a headache. The adjustable height and monitor positions allow it to be placed anywhere on a desk and still have optimum viewing. My son, who is the real PC gamer in the family, has spent so much money over the years on monitors and graphics cards only to be let down every time when they don't work well together - with the graphics card that he has now, this monitor was like a dream come true for him. Go buy it!

Extremely horrible monitor. Not bright enough. Ghosting still present even when OC 280 mhz. Not worth the 400$. Maybe a 250$ monitor at that. Go get the Asus.

This monitor is everything ACER promises AND MORE. 27" monitors are a class of their own when it comes to gaming. Over the years its been debatable if a 27" 1080P monitor was even worth the trouble because of the pixel density drop-off with the larger size screen. However, Acer just made me eat my own words. This monitor is beautiful at 27" with 1080p. The material quality is premium, the colors are rich, the refresh rate is acceptable, the resolution is stunning, and the onboard menu has plenty of options for settings so you can adjust your monitor to be the perfect set up for you. Even if your gaming set up can't handle 280hz, Acer gives you plenty of options to step down and avoid any frame tears. The monitor is VESA ready which is expected out of all gaming monitors in 2021 AND the stand is fully adjustable. It's hard to say anything negative about this monitor aside from it only being 1080p. But one thing to remember in 2021 is that many games can't support 280hz yet and the ones that do... well you can only hit 280+ at 1080p because 2K resolution isn't quite there yet and 4K is barely at 120. If you are big into fast paced shooting games where FPS matters, this is the perfect monitor for you. If you are looking for high resolution and high frame rate, you may want to consider 2K or 4K resolutions.

    Competitive Speed!

I've had this Monitor for awhile and let me say it's fast! This monitor has an overclock of 280hz! For competitive gaming it gives you that edge in response times. It's a perfect competitive gaming. It's 1080p but where it lacks in resolution it makes for it everywhere else. It it soo butter smooth in game with that extra refresh rate. I don't think I can go back to anything else. It has a bright display, and I mean bright! I turn it on and it was okay, then I really turned it on. Then man it was pretty bright almost too bright. The color looks great, and blacks look good as well. It's pretty fantastic looking display in all categories. It has built in speakers which I love because it adds extra versatility. They sound decent with good amount volume. They are good in a pinch. The stand is constructed really good with great ergonomics. The stand rotates very smoothly from the base, almost like a Lazy Susan. That being said the base is pretty large and circular rather than a stand with legs. It takes up quite abit of desk realestate with it sticking out. If your a competitive gamer, or a gamer this is the monitor for you. It has all the features you need and great colors. It's a very well rounded monitor and it goes to 280hz! I definitely recommend this monitor.

Good light 1920 res 27in monitor

Acer - Nitro XV271 27" IPS is a good HD 1920 x 1080 resolution 27” inch monitor. With good build quality and thin bezel, sturdy stand (tilt , height and rotational ), along with the ability to use the built-in 100 mm x 100 mm VESA mount which is behind the docking piece for the monitor stand , it gives you a versatile setup. Note since this is recessed you have to use a 100x100 plate not an adjustable one. The monitor is well boxed and easy to assemble. The monitor has nice brightness and contrast and good colors and viewing angles due to IPS technology. Along with up to an overclocked 280Hz and 240Hz normal refresh rate with a 0.5ms response time. If you are using AMD video cards, you have the added advantage of this monitor using AMD FreeSync technology. The monitor has uniform lighting and a good uniform black and a 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio. At the higher Hz rate there is very little ghosting in high FPS games but you really have to look for it. The monitor offers both responsive performance and great image quality without compromises for a 1920 res monitor . There are multiple settings available on the back of the display with four buttons and a joystick. Three buttons are programable for your favorite settings. The monitor has two HDMI 2.0 ports one DisplayPort 1.1 port, and it uses a standard included PC power cable - no brick is needed. It also has 2x2W integrated speakers. You receive both a HDMI and DP Cable If you are looking for a 27” monitor for gaming of everyday use that is full HD 1920 x 1080 with HDMI /DP and a refresh rate that can be overclocked to 280HZ on a DP connection this is certainly worth looking at.

A breeze to set up and only requires minor tweaks out of the box. I prefer a cooler look compared to the factory settings. Outside of that, and the required overclocking setting needed to change to get to the max 240Hz refresh rate, this thing is buttery smooth if you have the computer to push it. It’s on the brink of mesmerizing. It’s really a beautiful monitor and the refresh rate is just obscene. But it may not be the best for everyday use. I personally need a little higher resolution for my work needs. If you work from and are considering using this as a work monitor during the day and a gaming monitor by night, I might suggest looking at something else. But let's remember, that is not what this monitor is really made for. Also, I’m unsure why this is shown to not be mountable in the specifications. There is a clear 100x100 Vesa mount pattern on the back.

I was very impressed with this monitor. The setup was pretty easy. No tools needed. Once you get it set up, you may have to tweak the settings a little bit to get it where you would like it. But once its done, the picture is great. This monitor will run most games very smoothly. Refresh rate is really good. I like how adjustable it is. It rotates and swivels to where you need it. I have a very tight space so being able to adjust the height and tilt was very helpful. The integrated speakers are pretty good, but I use a headset most of the time. It's always great to have the option though. Overall I think that this is a great deal for any gamer out there looking for a reasonably priced monitor that offers most of what the higher priced ones offer.

Overall Phenomenal monitor after making a few tweaks in the display settings. Gives a bright and vivid color output. And not the bright that burns a white flare into your retina. But bright enough to not be washed away with the light from a bright room. It isn’t overly flashy (LED lights, Bright colors, gaming aesthetics, etc) which makes it a good fit for just about any desk in either a bedroom, den, study, office, etc. It’s got a very sturdy build with a small bezel giving the screen a large surface area. Setup Acer really packed this thing in the box in a way that it would be difficult to damage during transit. Obviously, if you threw it off a flight of stairs you’d probably succeed. But you normally won’t have such a brash impact during transit. The monitor arrives in a clamshell foam with mount and saucer base molded into the outside. There’s a set of instructions along the inner flap of the box, which I missed in my hurry to get it out. I ended up struggling getting the monitor out and eventually gave up. It’s certainly recommended to unbox with 2 people, although its certainly possible to unbox by ones self. Once out, it comes in 3 pieces which screw on, saucer base > stand, and clip in, stand > monitor. There’s an additional set of HDMI cables and a DisplayPort cable, along with a manual. Gameplay This was the fun part of the whole thing. There’s a joystick in the lower right corner along the back of the panel. It gives display adjustment options along with 3 keys which can be configured to quickly bring up frequently changed settings. I went with some of the predefined profiles, Graphics and HDR. Those worked perfectly fine for me without too many other tweaks for JRPG’s, FPS, and adventure types. Besides that, changing the refresh rate to the overclocked 280hz was a must. Then match in the desktop environments settings. After all that, bring up a couple of games and awww at its beauty. Aside from modern games, I gave a few older titles a try. Titles that originally released roughly 6+ years ago. To my eyes, the pacing of the characters movement seemed to flow more smoothly. Other Considerations It comes with built in speakers that aren’t very powerful. You’ll get more noise and a richer sound from your smartphone. Unless you read the manual, overclocking the monitor isn’t an inherently obvious thing. But if you spend several hours adjusting your settings and going through everything you may end up stumbling on it.

    Great monitor, wobbly base

Acer Nitro Monitor Despite having a very good video card, I prefer to do my gaming in 1920x1080 over 4K, as the performance is more important to me than the graphics quality. The Acer Nitro FHD monitor that I received is perfect for my gaming needs. While I went with Nvidia GPU for my current PC build, this monitor supports the FreeSync Premium standard, which is AMD's offering. There is a deep rabbit hole of compatibility and similarity of options to be able to explain the nuances of each competing tech, but it is enough for this review to state that despite having an Nvidia GPU, I'm still able to benefit from the blazing fast 240Hz refresh rate (with the ability to boost it even further) and there is still some adaptive sync going on (which is the point of the GSync/FreeSync tech). This translates to a buttery smooth performance, provided your graphics card can keep up. The construction of the included base and stand is interesting, but could use some QA. The base consists of a "lazy susan"-style circular platform that allows you to rotate the footstand while staying in place. While this is a nice idea, the either the footprint of the base isn't exactly flat, or both my desk and my floor aren't, and the result is a wobbly mess. The stand allows you to raise and lower the monitor height and angle, which is excellent for ergonomics, and is easily adjustable with one hand. The monitor has both a DP port and an HDMI, so it's possible to connect both a computer and a console, provided you have the right output on the PC. If it wasn't for the wobbly base, there would be no complaints by me. If you plan to use a VESA mount, it is compatible.
