Love it. Great graphics all around nice laptop for gaming

it handles all my games pretty well and is not loud at all unless you activate turbo mode.

I wanted to upgrade my Acer Helios 500 amd, I had for over 3 years and didn’t had any problem at all. Then I was watching the Helios 300 and the aero 16 but went for the Helios cuz it has more ports, better reviews and better performance for what I do ( 3d rendering ). I purchased for 999 and got an extra tb m2 Pros. -The performance has been really good -temperatures are getting around 60cpu and 70 cpu when playing overwatch or apex. It doesn’t feel hot to the touch ( fans are on custom so it doesn’t get that loud) - the screen it’s really good for video and photo editing also for playing - battery for me it’s a win win around 4h - 5h, I had only 1h at max with the Helios 500 Cons -it has a layer in the keyboard hope it doesn’t go with time

Has mux switch, liquid cooling, temps are mid to low 70's on gpu, around the same or less on cpu. These cpus run HOT so the cooling on this is really impressive, 3060 is usually running at 120w but can draw up to 140-150, battery sucks

All the great bells and whistles in a portable form factor. Beast of a graphics card for a laptop. Core i7 runs everything with ease. I did upgrade to 32GB DD5 and added 1TB of storage with a Samsung 980 Pro, but that was personal preference. It ran great with the included specs.

I’ve had this laptop for about 2 years now and it’s amazing. The only thing to keep in mind is that it doesn’t overheat because the fans work very well but are really loud. Sound canceling headphones work well with the laptop

This laptop has been great thus far, despite receiving a defective one (will discuss under cons) on the first delivery. I bought this in mid-November when the price was only $999, which yields a high utility imo. The pros include... 1. Very nice screen. Perhaps because my older laptop is only an FHD with 60 Hz refresh rate, something makes this laptop screen (also FHD but 165 Hz) more friendly and rich. 2. Computer bag. Buying this product comes with a zipped bag that you can store this laptop in. However, it's rather thin for a laptop with this weight, so definitely prevent hitting or dropping. 3. Great RGB keyboard and underbar lighting. I haven't played much with this yet, but at least the standard lighting options can change per-key. The keyboard also feels nice to type and game on, since they're quiet (though I prefer the clicky ones). 4. Decent design for the price. Although this is not the "slim" and light gaming laptop, I think for $999, this is surprisingly not that heavy. The materials also doesn't feel cheap, and the ports are well categorized (ex. charging port and HDMI in the back, USB-As and headphone jack on the sides) 5. High utility (or satisfaction level) for medium-gamers. Since I'm only a undergrad chemE student, I've only got to play games like League, Valorant, Battlefield, Warframe, and Terraria. You can expect at least 120 FPS on all these games. The cons now include... 1. Limited battery life. Plugging into an AOC curved gaming monitor, I can only do office work or watch videos for like 2~3 hours. And with a cheap office monitor, I can get ~4 hours. But hey, this is a gaming laptop, so it's not supposed to last over 3 hrs. w/out its heavy charging brick. 2. Not USB-C Gen 2. The one thing that makes this laptop worse compared to my 2018 HP Envy is the USB-C port. Yes this Predator has Thunderbolt 4 but it's not Gen 2, meaning you can't charge the laptop through this port (ex. using a MacBook charger). 3. Potential defect and long lead time on repairs. The first order I received has a hardware defect where my whole laptop would lag/freeze for one second (thus causing your gaming fps to drop to 1). The Acer Repair Center was very friendly and cooperative. However, they come with a standard/slowest shipping, so it means it takes 2~3 weeks to wait the repair while the actual repair only takes 2~4 days. A couple of recommendations for new owners: 1. Acer Care Center. Downloading this allows you to set the charging limit to 80%, which helps with keeping the battery from degrading when plugged in. 2. Disable the start-up sound thru BIOS. The start-up sound is very loud, and there is no way to adjust the volume (as of 12/02/2022), so use BIOS to disable it.
