Computer is great, my 12 year old loves it. Be careful with the charging port though. He damaged it, but that was no fault of the product. Super fast shipping from BestBuy.

Mouse Pad is Terrible! Must Purchase Controller!

The computer performs excellent. The mousepad is horrible. While playing a game, it is not sensitive enough to know when I am swiping to look around or change direction. I keep getting killed playing GTA 5, because I cannot effectively change the direction I am looking. Since there are no mouse buttons, it is impossible to aim and shoot. Even after changing the shoot button, I still cannot aim and shoot rockets, or shoot from a vehicle. I purchased a controller since the game is otherwise unplayable. To be fair, most other gaming computers I see on the market no longer have mouse buttons. This is probably a ruse to make consumers purchase controllers so that Microsoft can make more money. They should give everyone that purchases this computer controllers for free. Battery life is about 2 to 2.5 hours for me, which is not great.

Little hesitant to go with an Acer laptop but after reading reviews and researching device for weeks, decided to give it a try and happy with the decision. Nice design, keyboard and easy to add additional 1TB SSD for storage.

Best budget laptop in my opinion Laptop temp ( GPU and CPU ) is within " normal " range when playing e-sport category games and even triple A games. Only problem is that speaker dull or should I say decent. I've been using it for almost a month now and has not seen or encountered any issues with the product.

Had this laptop for almost a year now. So far so good. Works really great. Laptop gets hot quite fast while gaming especially games that requires 1080p and above resolution. It reaches 83 degrees temp on the GPU.I suggest to play in a cool place or AC'd room. Helps a little bit lowers the temperature of the laptop. Unless there's just a manufacturers defect.

This review is for the 15 inch Acer Helios 300 model N223C. It has an IPS display, a 512 GB SSD,16 GB of DDR5 RAM, an Intel i7 12700H CPU and Nividia RTX 3060 mobile GPU. The screen has a really narrow bezel and it does have a number pad. I am not going any further on specs as they are readily available online. This is a solid well constructed laptop. Hinges seem solid. The backlit keyboard is the best I have seen on any keyboard. Colors and themes are variable on the Pulsar Lighting keyboard. Trackpad is smooth and responsive. It has HDMI, mini Display Port, Thunder bolt 4, 4 USB 3.1 and 3.2 standard and one mini receptacle. The heat sinks for the CPU and GPU are installed with liquid metal. It has raised legs on the back of the bottom so it can get decent ventilation on hard surfaces. It has a Turbo fan mode , which is fairly loud, but if you use it you will probably be wearing head phones. I found it to be moderately effective, more so for keeping the hotspot temps down and little effect on general package temps. I had some experience of slightly higher GPU speeds when Turbo Mode was on. I found no significant difference in GPU performance with and without the fan in Turbo Mode when using Furmark as a benchmark. GPU top speeds were between 1950 and 2050 MHz and the CPU boosts to nearly 4800 MHz on 3 of the P-Cores. CPU package temps remained acceptable at 68 to 72 degrees. These tests were done with Furmark at 1080 x 1920 and 8x MSAA, which yielded an average 48 FPS, with or without Fan turbo mode. Now this laptop is no different than any other laptop. If you run on battery, Top CPU speed will drop to 3800 MHz and GPU will drop to 1400 MHz, but it is snappy and just fine for any normal spreadsheet, word or browsing. For top performance you will need to plug in the power supply which measures 8" x 4" x 1" and is quite heavy. The laptop is also quite heavy, so if you need to carry it in a bag, it may be a workout if you have to climb stairs. I run flight simulators, which are demanding. On DCS World with all the highest settings it maintained 90 FPS and 78 degrees on the GPU and it was buttery smooth, so G-Sync works great. I think the RTX 3060 in this would run a QHD monitor at good quality settings. I also think this would be a great all around Laptop for anyone that has a mix of gaming and graphic work. What I didn't like is the display. For supposedly being an IPS monitor, it acts more like a VA panel as screen quality degrades significantly when viewing off center horizontally. Vertically it seems fine, so if you like to tilt the screen back it will be fine. Next on my dislikes is the sound. Cranked up all the way it is borderline acceptable. The speakers are Okay, but not great. I also think that a 512 GB SSD is not sufficient for either a gamer or graphic designer. It is a good looking laptop. the finish is a black matte and like any other laptop, if you have oily fingers it will leave smudges. It is solid and well built. The bottom will come off if you need to upgrade the SSD or memory. So I would suggest that this Predator Helios 300 will fit the needs of a lot of gamers and be attractive for graphic work also. It has a great CPU, a very good GPU and sufficient RAM. Also, SSDs and RAM can be upgraded. It has a very good cooling solution the screen tilts back far enough for those who like to stand up, it has an awesome keyboard and looks like a gaming laptop.
