Customers are saying

Customers admire the Predator Orion 5000's high performance in games, resulting in high FPS rates, especially at higher resolutions. They also appreciate its ease of use and impressive specifications for the price. However, some customers express concerns regarding the CPU cooling system and the included RAM. The system's ability to handle demanding games is a major selling point.

Bought my pc in january and it was working fine for a while, around April my pc crashed for the first time, which i thought fine maybe the graphics card overheated or something because the game just had an update. Continued playing for a month or two without any additonal problems. Towards the end of june the pc has has had the same problem quite frequently, which is odd i usually dont have problems with a pc less then 6 months after purchase. But recently the pc has been overheating, on random things from astroneer to diablo 4. Im not very technical so im not sure the ultimate problem but my guess is terrible temperature flow or a faulty part. Would not recommend

Great PC & widely upgradable! Only complaint I have on this version of the Predator series is that this particular PC does not have overclock capabilities due to it’s bios firmware version. But in hindsight I previously purchased and had to return exchange within a matter of 30 days to ibuy power PC’s due to fail power supplies so with that being said this computer shouldn’t put out too much power and burn up its power supply due to it not being able to access its over clock settings.

Great computer. Everything worked properly out of the box. Well packaged and the cables were managed very neatly. Even behind the side panel that isn't see through. Tasteful RGB that you can program from the installed acer predator software. Everything looks upgradeable and the case is easy to work in. Some bloatware was installed but easy to get rid of. Very happy. Will probably buy again so the wife can have her own PC.

Been using this for a month and so far so good as far as games go. Going to start moving my video editing, digital art, and other stuff over to this, and I expect it will be just as great an upgrade for those (previously using an Acer Nitro 5 laptop from 2020). Might not be portable, but by all accounts it is relatively upgradeable, so I'm hoping it will be a good home office/gaming computer for a long time to come.

Big upgrade from my previous rig with a 1070ti and 7200k! Mostly using it for playing FiveM and WoW, in which I can play at maximum graphic settings at around 80-100 fps on a 32” full HD monitor! This is also sometimes in a car meet with 74 other people, so that says a lot.

My first gaming computer , I was able to get it for 1750$ at a day before black friday sale. The case is a lot bigger than my old computer but has plenty of room for add-ons later. A free Warhammer game was included thanks to Nvidea . The set up was simple even for a novice like myself. Loaded the windows 11 no problem. The sales person was very helpful i would give him 5 stars too.

The Acer Predator Orion 5000 with i7 and RTX 3080 is an absolute beast. It does a great job of checking off many of the important points sought out by gamers. Are you looking to max out your graphics in 4K? Check. How about running 240Hz in 1080P for competitive first-person shooters? Check. Other quick notes, the case itself is attractive. Obviously, that’s subjective, but I don’t many people would find it off putting. Decent amount of airflow. Comes with a gaming keyboard and mouse. Has modern support features like DDR5 RAM slots, and m.2 slots. Performance You should expect high performance from this setup. Anyone who keeps up with PC gaming components knows the combination of an RTX 3080 and a 12th gen i7 is quite the punch. This is a combination that will confidently futureproof you for the long term. For reference here’s a few games I play: Risk of Rain 2, PUBG, Overwatch. Here’s some performance notes for each: Risk of Rain 2: Maxed out settings, between 70 – 140 FPS. 1080P. PUBG: Maxed out settings, between 150 – 300 FPS. 1080P. Overwatch: Maxed out settings, between 130 – 180 FPS. 4K. The majority of the games I play, I play on my 1080P monitor because I strongly prioritize framerate over resolution. Some people might think this setup is overkill for 1080P, but I disagree. My 1080p monitor is 244Hz. That still squeezes every ounce of performance of this setup on maxed settings. However, older games like Overwatch I play in 4K since 150ish FPS is enough for me. Also, racing games like Forza Horizon 5 plays amazing in 4K. More than enough frames to be enjoyable. The performance of this PC will not disappoint regardless of your gaming preferences. Build Quality I took a good apart of this PC apart to check for quality. The biggest knock-on prebuilt PCs has always been the build quality and the quality of the component use. I didn’t find any real red flags. The motherboard is a custom motherboard, appears to be of reasonable quality. The RAM sticks are extremely basic. They have no heatsink, however this isn’t really concerning as RAM doesn’t really get hot enough. I removed the SSD to inspect it. It’s manufactured by Samsung which is a great SSD maker. I expect it to be reliable. The case fans provide good airflow and seem of decent quality. The GPU is exactly what you expect. It runs cool and has three fans. All in all, it appears to be of good quality, and I don’t foresee long-term issues. Conclusion If you aren’t interested in building your own PC, obviously you must buy a pre-built. Acer is a large computer company that makes PCs in all shapes and sizes. This should give them an edge as far as consumer trust. I am a fan of buying gaming PCs from companies that didn’t spring up a year ago. My point is, if you are going to buy a prebuilt gaming PC, go with a company like Acer. If this level of performance is something you are looking for, then the Orion 5000 is a great choice.
