Customers are saying

Customers admire the Predator Orion 5000's high performance in games, resulting in high FPS rates, especially at higher resolutions. They also appreciate its ease of use and impressive specifications for the price. However, some customers express concerns regarding the CPU cooling system and the included RAM. The system's ability to handle demanding games is a major selling point.

Not too shabby. Only downside is how loud the fans get. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my purchase!

The Acer Predator Orion 5000 is a pretty cool looking pre-built gaming pc right out of the box. The case is quite large and has a pretty good airflow despite having only one exhaust fan in the back, and the fans are pretty quiet. The computer boots up in a blink of an eye thanks to the Cable management is pretty good, Acer used a lot of fabric woven tape to hold down wires, particularly on the connections to the motherboard. Overall for a pre-build it seems like Acer really cares about quality and functionality, with the RAM and SSD coming from Samsung and the power supply from LiteOn. The Predator Orion is quick, powerful and all around a great gaming computer. It was able to handle almost everything I threw at it with ease, running on Ultra settings 4k with consistent framerates. Taking a deeper dive into the build, as far as expansion goes there is a hard drive cage that can fit two HDDs, mounts for two SSDs on the back side of the case, one extra m.2 slot (strangely placed to the right of the ram and above the graphics card facing outwards from the motherboard), two DIMM slots to expand the ram (although it might be a really tight fit with the shear size of the CPU fan heatsink, one more PCI slot for a capture card or whatever you need, and one expansion bay in slot in the top of the case that I haven't figured out yet. There are three very convenient USB 3.0 ports and a USB-C port right on top of the case, along with a microphone and headphone jack, all of which I greatly appreciated. Somethings I would have liked to see would have been a full ATX motherboard for even more expansion possibilities, heat-shielded ram sticks, and probably the most important being a 240mm radiator for the CPU cooling (this case will not fit a 360mm). But again, overall I am very pleased with this build. It works great for me. Would recommend for a high-end prebuilt gaming computer.

This is probably the best pre-built pc on market. Buy don’t look at others, this is the one that will hit all your expectations. Easy to upgrade also won’t be stuck like other models' years from now.

Acer hit it out of the park with this product! I’ve utilized and reviewed numerous different pre-built gaming PCs over the years, as well as assembled multiple custom systems. Acer’s attention to detail and inclusion of high end, top performing hardware make this unit a fantastic deal. I would usually recommend building a custom PC over purchasing a pre-built as the quality of parts suffers and explains why pre-built PCs can be more affordable in most instances. However, Predator Orion 5000 is clearly an exception to my past and is a welcome, refreshing change. The first thing you’ll notice when unboxing the PC is the build quality. The case is clean, sleek, modern, and sturdy. You have plenty of transparent panels so you can look in and see all your lighting and aesthetics, and it leaves you wanting to place it on display for the world to see. Gone are the days of hiding your tower in cabinet, this tower will sit front and center. The cable management is immaculate, they did a great job hiding all the cables inside so they don’t become an eye sore. There’s room for a 240mm radiator at the top of the case, a removeable dust filter at the bottom of the case, and a bunch of name brand, reliable parts in between. Moving on to performance, this PC will stomp on any benchmark you throw at it. It’s loaded with a top-of-the-line CPU (Intel i7-12700F – 12 core 8P/4E), Nvidia RTX 3080, 16 GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB Samsung based Gen 4 NVMe SSD. This stacks up for some serious performance. In different benchmark tests I ran, it averaged the 84th to 97th percentile in performance for a gaming desktop. This desktop is appropriately named as it appears to sit at the top of the food chain relative to performance. It had no problem keeping steady frame rates at numerous different resolutions, anything from 1080p, 1440, up to 4K. I was concerned about heat knowing this has one of the most power-hungry CPUs and GPUs inside, but temps stayed relatively in check, not exceeding mid 70 degrees Celsius for either device. I wouldn’t be opposed to adding some liquid cooling however to keep temps a little cooler. However, I didn’t experience any stability issues at all, I just prefer to have components run cooler. Overall, this is a very impressive pre-build gaming machine. Acer put a lot of design effort into this package, from little features on the case (removeable upper panel), selecting high-end, upgradeable hardware (there’s 2 open RAM slots on the motherboard, a spare M.2 NVMe slot, spots for 3.5” Hard Drives, etc), and in general just designing an amazing looking computer tower. If you’re looking for a high-power, high-end gaming desktop, don’t want to build it yourself, you don’t need to look any further. This desktop looks great, will handle anything you throw at it, and can still grow with you with its upgradability. The amount of detail into this package makes it feel like it was custom built for you.

Good build but missing the screw that holds the SSD in the additional M.2 slot. Wanted to install games on separate SSD but can’t mount the SSD without the screw. Very frustrating.

    Non-USB Headset Users Beware

Got this PC yesterday only to realize today that there is no combo audio jack for 3.5mm gaming headsets. Now, I get to take my $150 headset and determine if I want to plug it in for mic capabilities or audio capabilities. Can't have both unless I get a splitter and then, it may not even work as intended. On my previous machine, I could hear myself talk through the headphones but now it's not doing that. Very dissapointing and completely bewildering they wouldn't have a combo jack for gaming headsets on a GAMING PC!!!

Acer pulled a "Don't believe me? Just watch" with this one. As a long time fan of Acer products I can honestly say they've outdone themselves. The power packed into the predator orion is too good to be true, even at a more than reasonable price point. Design wise, it's got all the usual RGB and customization you've come to expect as far as personalizing your desired color palette. The case itself is minimal and leaves plenty of breathing room, with space for additional upgrades, if you so choose. I will say that you'll want to pick a home for this bad boy and let it get comfortable because it's definitely not light. All throughout I was thoroughly impressed by the sheer performance and no frills execution,  this machine has to offer. Every game I booted up was instantly set to the highest settings available and ran flawlessly. I normally play multiplayer fps's and the installed 3080 graphics card made for an incredible experience with some of the highest frame rates I've seen. On the other hand, the fans kept everything cool and as silent as can be. This is undoubtedly the best gaming rig I've ever owned and I couldn't be happier. For someone like me who doesn't have alot of free time to build my own PC, this one works wonders. I was able to unbox everything, boot up the system and finish setup in minutes. I highly recommend this PC overall.

    Everything I needed and more.

Without a doubt, the best PC I've ever bought. Fairly priced, booted up right away, and it just works wonders. I use this machine for Video Processing, Leading my High-Production Online Lessons for IT Professionals, and Gaming. With a 1TB Solid State Drive, everything loads exceptionally quickly. Video encoding is a breeze (fastest ever), and producing my live, online lessons is painless, clean, and fast. For gaming, I couldn't ask for better. It simply has everything you need. I run every game at max settings, maintaining a clean 120 - 144 fps. Further, I had to install my old Harddrives into this machine in order to pick up everything I needed to work. This PC comes with 2 additional HDD slots, where I store all of my digital assets and videos. The caddies made it incredibly easy to install, and loading from my old harddrives was faster than it was on my old PC (which was quite unexpected). This computer accomplished everything I needed it to. Painless. Literally plug it in, turn it on, and enjoy.

A powerful pre-built that you can upgrade.

Bought this because I wanted to build something similar, but was having trouble finding the parts I want due to limited inventory in my area. Out of the box its a great machince. Powerful and fast, and the Black Friday deal I got made the price very competitive to building a PC. Whats great is the upgradabikity with this, you aren't buying a glorified laptop like some pre-builts, so the ability to upgrade down the line is there. My one complaint is the location of the fan in regards to the memory slots. It is positioned over one of the slots making it very difficult to get the cards in and actually take advantage of said slot, but it can be done if you aren't using the fancy cards with RGB and such. Still I was able to upgrade the memory, so I am not going to ding for one minor complaint. Overall, a great way to up your game and skip some hassle with buying/tracking down parts and more powerful and upgradable than any gaming laptop you can find at the price.
