Customers are saying
Customers recognize the Predator XB272 monitor's exceptional picture quality and high refresh rate as significant strengths, leading to overwhelmingly positive feedback for gaming experiences. Many appreciate the G-SYNC compatibility and vibrant colors, while the sturdy stand also receives praise. However, some users point out that the speakers are subpar and the price may be considered high by some. A few isolated reports mention minor issues such as dead pixels, but these appear to be less frequent.

One of the most fluid gaming experiences
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was not only my first 240Hz gaming panel, but also my first G-sync monitor.Let me tell you...the hype is real. I am coming from a 3440 x 1440p IPS 60Hz monitor and in terms of fluidity and smoothness, the Acer is a clear win. I play a lot of CS:GO so I was instantly hooked to this Acer monitor. It must be noted that this monitor is best suited for someone who is mainly looking for a top notch competitive display. Being a TN panel, this monitor wont give you the deepest blacks or the most accurate color reproduction, but it will give you the smoothest, unhindered, and snappiest playing experience. On my original monitor, I am used to tearing with V-Sync OFF since my 60Hz monitor is not fast enough to display more than 60 frames per second. Turning V-Sync ON fixes the tearing, but introduces input lag. With this Acer G-Sync monitor, there are no trade-offs or compromises. Leave V-Sync off and you're done. Enjoy the gaming experiencing the way it should have been enjoyed years ago without having to mess with V-SYNC. In terms of of quality, the monitor is substantial. It has a very clean and sharp decor and construction quality is superb. Great stand and has very slim bezels. Putting it together is extremely easy and I didn't need to use any instructions. For someone looking for one of the best competitive gaming experiences, give this one a shot!

Crazy Fast Gaming Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Acer Predator XB272 is a crazy fast, 27inch, 1080p gaming monitor. It really pushes the envelope of silky smooth gaming with an ultra-high, 240hz maximum refresh rate and 1ms response time. State of the art (and affordablity) seems to be either 4K at 144hz, or 1080p at 240hz. It also includes Nvidia's G-Sync tech for adaptive frame sync, which makes it particularly suitable for Nvidia equiped gaming rigs. The controls include regular buttons and a jog button, and allow for a wide variety of settings and on screen displays. Pros: * Color and contrast are excellent. * Backlighting is extremely uniform across the entire screen. * Excellent sharpness across the screen. * Ultra thin bezel. * Control interface very easy to navigate, very intuitive, very customizable. * Really sturdy base that twists, tilts, and adjusts for height, stays put where you set it, doesn't wobble or creak, and provides good isolation from desk bumps. * Built-in 4 port, usb 3.0 hub. * Three year warranty Cons: * Only 1 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI port. The DisplayPort must be used to get the higher refresh rates, HDMI port limited to 60hz at 1080p. * Interfaces are versions DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4, somewhat dated. * Viewing angles are poor, off-axis viewing makes the display look discolored. The Acer XB272 is a really good choice for a gaming monitor. The size hits the sweet-spot for viewablity, the 240hz refresh really pushes it above the crowd, and the price won't break the bank. One final note, both DP and HDMI came with 'deep sleep' enabled. This kept the monitor from waking when the computer came out of sleep, which was really annoying. Once the settings were disabled, everything worked as expected.

Strong 1080p Gaming Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now in the age of 1440p and 4k Monitors The acer Predator 1080p monitor does a lot right. It is not perfect and some information needs to made a bit clearer to us consumers would be nice. 1. The 240 hz in only through display port not hdmi. Not a big deal if your video card has display port and can handle 240hz. 2. The monitor is heavy 28 pounds give or take a pound. But I will say extremely sturdy. The colors are pretty good but will never be oled good. Not a knock just an observation. The ability to rotate the monitor on the stand is nice and even for such a larger 16x9 ration 27 inch. I have not had the chance to test hdr but I did play a few games and watch movies on my pc and leaps and bounds better than my lg monitor i am replacing. Also input lag is none existent. The price is pretty high for the acer but what you get for gaming performance on 1080p with a strong system is worth the price. Most of the newer video cards that can push 100 plus fps with shine on the monitor. Just don't expect 4k level clarity.

Less than a year and bad pixel
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Annoying bad pixel already on my gaming monitor. Everything else performs well that is why I did give it 2 stars. Something should not fail this quickly especially for how infrequent I use the monitor.

Great for Gaming
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to connect to my laptop so I had a bigger screen when gaming at home. My son had a different idea and seems to have confiscated it for his Nintendo Switch. FortNite and other high intensity games look great on the screen. I fully understand why they say it has smooth gaming action. Does have small speakers but tend to keep the headphones on instead. When I don't use headphones, use a nice set of Rosewill speakers, instead. Very easy to setup. Just be careful and not drop when connecting screen to base. Awkward button "labeling", where buttons are on bottom right back when looking from front. Their labels appear on screen and you kinda just have to figure out what each label represents. For the first person shooter gamer, you won't be disappointed.

Really nice if...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....you have an NVIDIA card that supports G-SYNC. I'm assuming you do if you are looking at a monitor that costs this much. Let's go ahead and get the bad out of the way. As others have said, the speakers are really bad. Why they bothered including them is beyond me. Fortunately, they also included a 3.5mm jack on the monitor for your headphones or some better speakers. Also, the resolution is 1080p. 2560x1440 would have been nice. It's a TN panel, rather than an IPS panel, which means viewing angles are not as good, but if you're a gamer you probably won't be needing to view it at an angle anyway. Now for the good. If, in fact, you do have an NVIDIA graphics card that supports G-SYNC, you'll be blown away with 240hz. No, really. It makes that much difference. You know how when you're in a game and you quickly pan and everything just kind of goes blurry? That doesn't happen with the XB272. All you see is glorious 240hz--silky smooth. If you are a high end gamer and demand high quality, and you have an NVIDIA card that support G-SYNC, this would be a great addition to your gaming rig.

$600 but no 2.0 HDMI port
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Youd think for a $600 monitor that the HDMI slot would be capable of at least outputing 144hz but no they cheaped out on that and put a 1.2 HDMI port.

Awesome Gaming Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a TN Panel this is a great gaming monitor. Its smooth and I've been enjoying multiple games at 240hz fluidity. Well in honesty very few games can push the 240hz but with G-Sync even though my 1080Ti can't hit the frames in games (since I turn on all the details) the game play has zero tears and I didn't notice any ghosting in Doom/Destiny/Final Fantasy XV and a slew of others. If you have a nVidia card and what a good monitor this is a choice. Normally I'd have gone for a 24" panel for 1080p, thinking 27 too big, but after an hour I can't imagine going back to my 24" monitor. I also like the addition of a few USB3.0 ports since I'm always needing them, and while not 100 easy the headphone hanger you can add to back of the monitor is a nice bonus. It has a speaker, but don't bother. Setup was easy, and the base it comes with is a nice solid one without taking up to much desk real estate. It was a little odd with the buttons on the back, but actually they are very easy to use, if just a tad odd. Really had no issues with getting my PC to recognize it and detect it was a g-Sync Panel on Windows 10. It got that it could do 240hz and took the setting without an issue. It does have a few "gamer" features like an onscreen reciticle and a few image profiles for different games, but honestly I'm not using any of them. For a TN Panel angle of viewing seems fine for me and the colors work for me. If your used to IPS, that might be an issue but for me it seems fine, and in fact I'd take a little color TN Panel issue for the smoothiness of 240hz. If you want a fast 1080p Panel can't go wrong with this monitor.

Monitor buttons don’t work anymore, don’t buy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Almost 3 years of ownership, the buttons on the monitor no longer work. I don’t recommend this product. Super fast and clean display!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Speed! Most monitors cap out at 60Hz, (they refresh 60 times per second) but the faster the refresh rate the smoother gameplay looks and 240Hz is very fast. For optimal viewing you need a FAST gaming machine. Both sturdy and attractive, it stays where you position it (you can also mount it on a VESA mount). The monitor has slim bezels. It has multiple USB ports that can be used to charge wireless headphones etc (it also has a headphone hook on the top of the monitor stand. DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 ports are easily reached from the front. The Acer Predator XB272 offers both regular buttons and jog buttons along with a very usable menu system. It has a reasonable viewing angle, good contrast, good color gamut (75 percent of the AdobeRGB color space) and reasonable color accuracy. I would like it to have 4K.

Posted .Dear Gamer,
We are sorry to hear your Acer monitor has a stuck pixel out of the box. Acer does have a pixel policy that you can read here: https://www.acer.com/ac/en/IN/content/dead-pixel. In brief, it would take more than two bright stuck pixels to qualify for warranty repair. But since you just received the monitor, you might check with the reseller for your return/swap options.
We appreciate you taking the time to write this review.
