    Beautiful Color Monitor

This monitor is one of the nicest monitors I've ever owned. The monitor is fairly thin (and lightweight) which makes it portable and easier to fit into tight spaces. I found the colors to be quite crisp, bright and vibrant.   Once I unpacked the monitor it required assembly to the base (two screws). This took approximately 1 minute.  I suggest that you place the monitor on a flat surface during this process.  EASY!   You will immediately notice the size of this monitor.  It is very impressive and you will love the expanded viewing pleasure that it gives you. The connection to my computer was uneventful with no connectivity issues. When powered on, the power button is quite visible and there is no mistaking whether the monitor is on of off.   From the second that I turned the monitor on, it was nothing short of stupendous. My new monitor didn't need any calibration adjustment, as the display was picture perfect.  The only adjustment that I had to manually tweak was the screen resolution (which was a Microsoft issue). There are no built-in speakers supplied with this monitor, nor is there a Web-cam.  So, for those of you planning on listening to music or using SKYPE/FaceTime you will have to purchase a Web-Cam and a set of external speakers.  For me this wasn't an issue as I already own external speakers and a Web-cam as they are relatively inexpensive. I thought that I would mention it, as I know this might be a selling point or a deal breaker for some consumers.   What I found a little cumbersome was the adjustment of the viewing angle for the monitor.  Being very honest, when I first assembled the monitor to the base, I attempted to adjust the viewing angle and tilt the monitor to a comfortable angle.  It did not budge an inch since I wasn't applying enough pressure to successfully adjust it. The ability to tilt this particular monitor forward and backward was very stiff.  When I applied enough pressure it adjusted as necessary. Overall this is a very nice monitor. With its borderless 27 inch viewing area, photo-editing becomes easier, watching movies becomes more pleasurable, video gaming comes alive, etc. The Acer monitor is fantastic.  Happy Viewing!

    Acer warranty worthless

I purchased this monitor from Best Buy before vacation on sale for $169 in July and upon returning 3 weeks later noticed a black spot at the top of the screen. Best Buy said there is a 2 week return window and suggested using it with the black spot (very small). Unfortunately the black spot has continued to grow ever since (1" down, 3" across) and so I contacted Acer warranty service on Monday, Oct. 14. I was encouraged to mail it in at my expense ($40) for warranty repair, which I did. There was no mention that black areas on the screen automatically are not covered by the warranty. Today (10/16/19) I got a call from an Acer employee saying it had un underlying cracked screen that is not covered, and I can either pay them $149 to repair it, or have them send it back unrepaired. It was delivered to them at 9:33am this morning (10/16/19), so the idea that they disassembled the monitor and discovered a cracked underlying screen is hard to believe. They offered to repair it for almost the purchase price of a new one ($149), which of course I declined since the original was probably damaged in shipping to Best Buy to begin with, and they could just refuse to cover the repaired one with the same excuse. In the future I will always purchase the protection plan from Best Buy, since they have more clout to get problems like this resolved. Very disappointed in Acer, thought they were a reputable company that would stand behind their product.

Resolution doesn't seem as high as it says, and settings seem difficult to manage but the monitor looks nice, powers on and does what it is supposed to....for the price

This monitor is okay for the price, but I think its ppi is not high enough for high load work. If you need a large monitor for gaming, I would look elsewhere.

Picture quality is not the best for heavy text usage. If screen is not expanded to full capacity it’s very sharp, otherwise it leaves a good deal to be desired.

Great Display with a Thin Bezel

This Acer 27” monitor is a great value for the price, and it provides an excellent viewing experience. Because of the thin bezel and nearly edge-to-edge display, it would be well suited for a dual-monitor setup. There is also support for a VESA mount on the back to further assist with multiple monitors. I really like the matte finish of the display as well. It works well in working conditions with a lot of background light that might otherwise cause reflections on the screen. Setup was simple, as you would expect from most monitors. There is a single power cable with an AC adapter that plugs into the back of the display. Acer only ships this display with a VGA cable, but there are ports for HDMI and DVI as well. I connected it to my laptop via an HDMI cable and was able to use it as a secondary monitor at 1080p resolution as I expected. I did not find myself needing to change any of the settings out of the box, but there is an available on screen menu for making adjustments. The color and brightness were great, and they matched the display on my laptop. I use an app to reduce the amount of blue light from the display in the evenings, and the color was able to adjust without issue. Overall, I was very satisfied with the performance of this display as a secondary laptop display. I think it’s a great value for the price and most users would be very happy with the purchase of this monitor.

Power cable not covered by warranty

Although Acer claims that there is a 3 year warranty on parts, it would not cover a power cable that broke in only a year's use. Seems like an integral part for the monitor! Acer did "offer" to let me buy a replacement cable for $46. Just terrible customer service. Monitor when it worked was okay but not great.

I have got this unit last night and I am very impressed!. The clarity and the resolution are amazing, it feels strong and durable but at the same time it is extremely light, with a solid Mounting base. It uses an external power adapter, which I think is a great idea, so what is around the monitor is pure DC current, instead of AC that could interferes with the quality video. The black colors are much deeper than my previous Monitor, which was a View Sonic. There are not built in speakers on the monitor, however I have always thought that speakers should be a separately device, video quality is important and I think that the less you have incorporated in a monitor the better, so it doesnt interfere with quality. The HDMI input is the standar nowadays, so am vey pleased with the images and videos I play on this monitor. Overal a very good quality resolution, sturdy but thin, and feels durable.
