Bought this night before Thanksgiving for $126.00. Big 27 inch for that price is a sweet deal. NO DEAD PIXELS. Would definitely buy again if it ever goes on sale again for that cheap price. :)

This was an awesome upgrade from my old 22" monitor. This acer 27" is super bright and can been seen easily even with some sunlight. It's full HD led, has a max screen revolution of 1920x1080.And has connection ports to make everyone happy. VGA,DVI & HDMI. I have been using it for movies, games and my surveillance station. Would be a good monitor for use in a duel setup. Which I want to do. Light weight and has a thin frame border.

    Daily Driver for 3 Years

I have had this monitor for about 3 years and it has been a solid daily driver. I definitely would buy another but sadly they are not available new, so time to move up to a 1440p monitor I suppose. I will stick with the same brand for sure. Well done Acer.

I am very pleased with this monitor. It's light weight and thin frame design is great for a dual monitor setup. And has connection ports to make every one happy. VGA,DVI,HDMI. The picture is very bright and crisp, with good color reproduction. Has a max resolution of 1920x1080 with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. This was a nice upgrade from my older 23" monitor. You can't go wrong with this one.

This monitor looks beautiful. The display is edge to edge with minimal bezels, and has a very nice clean sleek look overall. You can adjust the monitor viewing angle front to back, but not up or down. It accepts both digital and analog connections which is nice. Once out of the box and powered on you'll probably need to do a quick calibration. Colors were noticeably washed out and very light to me. Overall detail was good, but nothing spectacular. I was able to adjust some settings and get a pretty nice overall picture for general use. Software applications look fine (like MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.) very clear and detailed. Video and gaming looked just 'ok' which is fine, but I was a little disappointed in, especially since the contrast ration on this monitor is so high and with its 4ms response time. I could never get this monitor to deliver a nice, sold punchy crisp and colorful display overall. It is LED which is nice, but not IPS. The anti-glare treatment on the screen was also very nice, and the monitor does get pretty bright. This monitor is just fine to be a daily driver for those wanting sheer size and at least 1080p resolution for doing things like spreadsheets, emails and light web surfing. If you're wanting to do things like heavy video watching/editing, image editing or gaming, you would want to look elsewhere. With the super competitiveness in the 27" monitor space these days, this monitor is not priced competitively at all for it's features and display output that you receive. Lots of options out there these days for better displays with IPS LED at lower prices.

    great monitor for the price!

First of all let me say I only paid $99 shipped straight from Acer Ebay (refurb) - item came still with the protective plastic on all the shiny surfaces. So for $99, it was a no-brainer. Great display quality and very small bezels = WIN. I use it as an extended display for a laptop - only downside is that its only 1080p so fonts & windows are a bit too large vs QDH and UHD (Full 4K) monitors. You CAN fix this by downscaling the entire display but then the laptop display fonts get too tiny....but for me its excellent. I only use 1 day a week so hopefully it lasts a while! Thank you Acer!

This monitor is a nice step up from the sea of entry-level monitors on the market. 27" is a nice size upgrade from the more typical 20" or so variety. 27" is also a great size for full-HD resolution. I also like the all-black styling and thin bezel. Overall this monitor is a great value for the money.

Bought for a client who was having issues seeing his 21" screen that came with his HP desktop. This new monitor is crisp, clear, bright and colorful. Icons that were blurry on his old screen due to scaling issues with Windows 7 are now crisp. Setup was a breeze, and he is super happy with it.

I've been a great Acer fan for the past 15 years. The monitors are durable, reliable, and long lasting. The screen is bright and clear. It comes with all 3 ports, VGA, DVI or HDMI. It's a great product overall and the monitor is thin and simple. A great investment for your computer.

Make sure you calibrate this monitor before using. Otherwise, the default output might be disappointing. Definitely not recommended for professional use, but very good option for regular home use. Adequate backlit makes screen brighter and makes it easy to work on. I found this monitor is bit costly at its MSRP v/s feature, and quality. However, I will still recommend it for personal use.

Nicely Built but Picture Lacks Brilliance

The Acer S271HL Gbidx 27" Monitor is extraordinarily easy to unpack, assemble, and requires almost no setup. I used the VGA cable to connect to my Dell laptop and it was pretty much plug and play. I'd never really considered purchasing a monitor to use with my laptops, but I can now see the benefit. One thing that I didn't see was the brilliant color that I have on my laptop screen. This was disappointing but I'm fairly used to a lackluster display with my work monitors. But, if I'm purchasing something for my home, I want those brilliant and bold colors. I would love to use the monitor to add extra ambiance at my home work area and this monitor will do well for that. But as I said, it did leave me wanting for a little more and despite my attempts to adjust the settings, it didn't improve. In conclusion, setup is a breeze, it is light as a feather for a 27" monitor, and comes at a reasonable price. Is it going to blow you away with the colors? No. But it's not a bad monitor and does the job a monitor is supposed to do. Pros: -Price -Weight -Setup Cons: -Color Brilliance

Amazing for the price! Might buy another

I just bought this monitor since it was on sale and I’ve heard good things from Acer. My precious HP monitor’s stand died and I needed something to replace. By coincidence, this one is on a great sale at the price of a 23 so I tried it out. So far the picture is amazing and my favorite part of it is the small amount of space it takes up. If you want a large monitor that doesn’t take up space, this one is amazing. The picture quality is great.

Just got this monitor today for the office room! This monitor is just stunning and the picture quality is beautiful. Having used 23 inch monitors before, the size of 27 is plenty and feels great too. The picture quality is perfect even when watching movies or entertainment. Always liked Acer's monitor displays and this one does not disappoint.

The big issue for me: No tilt

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It's been okay as a monitor and there is nothing disagree with in these reviews, but I have a concern: The Best Buy write-up says it tilts and some comments say it tilts a tiny bit, but other comments (and my own) say it does not tilt at all. That has been a big negative for me, but I can only blame myself for not checking it out on the display shelf. But I alsoI have to wonder if all the models were labeled correctly. The sticker on the back says S271HL Version Obid (zero?) as does my receipt, yet I wonder if some units were sent out with a tilting mount? Even if it tilted back by 5 degrees, fine, but totally flat is not cool.

I bought this monitor to replace a 6 year old 20" HP monitor for my work computer. The screen size and clarity of the monitor were impressive and working at 1920x1080P was a huge improvement over 1600x900. For 3 months I had been using this monitor with the VGA port. 3 days ago I connected a second computer to it using an HDMI cable as I had to switch inputs during the day to complete tasks on the second computer. Yesterday the monitor flickered and then lost the image and left me with a black/grey screen with vertical bars/lines on it (see image). I had no problems whatsoever using it for 14 hours a day on the VGA connection, but once I started using both inputs, the monitor apparently failed. It's going to cost me $27 to ship it from California to Acer's Texas repair facility for warranty service. While it may be a coincidence that the monitor stopped working once I started using both inputs, I am not sure I will be purchasing Acer products in the future as I was shocked to have a monitor fail so quickly.

    Perfect

Model: S271HL-GBIDX with manufacturing date of September 2017 ... This was the perfect size for my son's desk. He has a PS4 connected to the HDMI input and a desktop computer on the DVI input. Setup was a breeze with connections clearly visible on the back panel and a base that slides in using a single mounting screw. The monitor base has adjustable tilt. There are no speakers built-in on my model but a headphone jack on the rear allows HDMI audio to pass through to your own speaker system. Overall design is very attractive with almost no bezel around the sides and top. The menu system is easy to navigate. There are plenty of tweaks available without being overwhelming. The brightness out of the box is eye searing and will need to be adjusted. Using the windows built-in calibration procedure, I was able to get a very nice picture that works well with both movies and desktop applications. After a few days of hard gaming, my son has given it a thumbs up. There is no perceptible lag or motion blur. Text and graphics are crisp and clear. He said his scores have actually improved since moving from a wall mounted 42" TV to the monitor. I couldn't be happier with the sale price and performance of this model. I'm sure $300+ on something fancier will net a few improvements in color or response time but I'm not a monitor snob and this Acer gets the job done.

Very sharp image once the right driver intalled

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The image was very sharp once I downloaded the right driver. Acer doesn't have a driver for this monitor for windows 10, so I went out to NVIDIA and they had a updated driver for my video card and the update also updated the driver to the monitor so the image went from stretched out to what is should be for 1920X1080. Looks good now and the games my kids play work great also. One draw back also is that this monitor only comes with a VGA cable. So I went and got a HDMI cable. Overall very pleased.

Great panel! BUT Power switch LED TOO BRIGHT!!

This monitor is great, it's big it's thin and super bright! I do recommend it if you are on tight budget and want a big screen. My BIG issue is that the power switch is lit by a very bright blue LED and it is very distracting. There does not appear to be any way to turn off this blue light. And the pictures on the box and on the website DO NOT represent what the power switch looks like when it is turned on. My solution was to put a piece and black tape on the switch which did work but one should not have to do that. However given that one bright glaring flaw the panel is otherwise an great value. Some other items to note if you think you can deal with the power switch light issue... There is no DisplayPort of any kind on the back, and it comes with a old school VGA cable only. The back panel has VGA, HDMI and DVI ports. One really GOOD thing I did not expect was that the panel DOES have VESA screw holes in the back, so that is a plus if you want to use a custom mounting system. Please also note that the panel is normal HD 1080P so if you sit close to the monitor its going to look more grainy, this is normal. You need to look at this display from a greater distance than you would a 24" display for example. I compared this panel to a high-end gaming 24" display and image quality is pretty similar except that the pixels are bigger on the 27" panel; viewed from the same distance the smaller panel looks more crisp but again this is too be expected. Anyway, one big flaw you can fix with tape, includes VGA cable, basic stand, great display, plus VESA mount holes. Catch this one on sale and it's an amazing value!
