Customers value the SA230 23" IPS LED FHD Monitor's excellent picture quality, affordable price, and ease of use. Many appreciate the vibrant colors and good size, along with the convenient HDMI connectivity. However, some find the stand to be lacking in adjustability and the absence of built-in speakers to be a drawback. A few users also noted limitations with the refresh rate and tilt functionality.

The ACER SA230 23" Monitor has a matte screen. Although I was able to get speakers configured in the HDMI out to the monitor, the volume button stayed grayed out. After reading more on this I discovered this monitor doesn't support HDMI Audio, but a different model has an actual 3.5mm audio input jack. They used the same firmware on this model as one with audio capabilities, this is an over site on ACER's part. The volume option shouldn't even show up if no speakers are present. This in no way detracts from the overall quality of the monitor. No one I know uses the built in speakers on a monitor. The monitor stand is a round flat plate measuring 8.375" in diameter. The monitor is very light weight and thin. It does not have a VESA mount option. The monitor can tilt forward by 3.6° and back by 14.4°. It has 2 inputs, HDMI and VGA via D-Sub. Video color out of the box is set to "Warm" turning white into yellow. This is the new normal for monitors. It is easily changed to "Cool" making the colors correct. It also has a Blue light reduction setting. I'm not sure why people want this, it looks god awful to me, but people do want it and use it, and this monitor supports it. Assembly was easy, setup was non existent. Windows 10 didn't even ask to install drivers, it just displayed the correct setting and monitor model number. The control buttons are located under the right side of the bottom bezel and not labeled at all. Pressing the farthest one to the right turns the monitor on and off, any of the others will activate the OSD menu. The power light is blue, not a great choice because blue is a bad color to look at. They have turned down the brightness of the power light but your eyes still go right to it when looking at the monitor. A Sharpie will fix this. The monitor is a FHD display with no noticeable lag or ghosting. On a full white screen there is just a small amount of color fade on the right side. Red and green are also showing a very small amount of color fade on the right side. Blue is a bit more prevalent to color fading. On my other monitors this is not the case, but I'll be honest, they cost twice as much. This color fading will never be seen except on a solid color screen. I always run a full color screen test on a new monitor. It allows me to see faded spots, not usually noticeable while displaying a normal screen. But more important, dead or stuck pixels. This monitor shows only the slightest signs of color fading, and no dead or stuck pixels. I believe for the price you cant go wrong with this one, unless you really want speakers.

This monitor is the perfect size! It is not so big that you cannot sit in front of it. It is also big enough to be productive. I am switching to this from two 19in monitors to this single monitor. I am also very impressed by the depth of it. The monitor is sleek and skinny. The base for the monitor is circular and takes up a little space on the desk but as long as you have enough regular size desk it will be just fine. I tried to use the monitor with my MacBook but at this time I cannot get it to work. I think it might be operator error though. I plugged my PC into it using all the same chords and adapters and it worked just fine. I wish it was a little higher resolution but I have not complaints as it is still crystal clear.

The SA320 widescreen monitor from Acer is a quality, well built LED backlit monitor. It offers a HDMI and a VGA style inputs and is powered by an AC adapter as opposed to the standard AC plug, so you need to use the provided power pack. The performance of this monitor is pretty impressive, images are very clear and provides a high level of contrast. The monitor is very light and thin and includes the standard stand which is easy to assemble. Overall I am very pleased with this monitor. Pros: - light and thin - high contrast - performs well Cons: - powered by an AC adapter/power supply - stand is proprietary, would be difficult to use with 3rd party mounts or to use in portrait mode.

Nice 23" IPS monitor for the average home PC

I have been struggling a little with how I should rate this monitor as it is a little expensive for the size and the category that this is built to compete with but with that said, it really isn't overpriced for what you are getting which is a very thin monitor with the exception of the bottom 3" with a very nice picture in a hard to find IPS monitor that is affordable and I personally believe the picture is better than the same size 1080p TN monitor that most screens in this price range are built with making this monitor an all around better value than other cheaper models. One of the reasons they could make this screen so thin is because it has an external power supply which could be seen as a pro or a con depending on how picky you are with having to find a place for it to sit out of the way. Which brings me to the cons which aren't huge but I do feel there are enough to dock it one star. The biggest is the lack of ports as it only has a VGA Port or an HDMI port which should be enough for most but I wish they would have replaced the VGA Port with either a DVI or Display port which would work much better with newer video cards and I also wish they would have included an HDMI cable but unfortunately they only included a VGA cable so you will need to get an HDMI cable if you want the best picture possible from your new monitor. Secondly several reviewer's have complained about the stand not being adjustable which is not true as it does tilt from -5° to 15° which isn't much but it is enough to get a good viewing angle. #3 is that in order to make the screen so thin they could not include any VESA mounting hardware or options which could be a major issue for some. This last one in which I don't believe is a con but other's might see the 4 Ms refresh rate and 60hz as a little low or the refresh rate a little faster but honestly I don't believe most people can even see the difference in 3 Ms but whatever and if you are looking for a monitor that can be over clocked to a faster refresh rate than 60mz then you should be looking for a higher priced gaming monitor as this monitor was not built specifically for gaming or pro video editing but it will work for casual gamer's or just hobbiest video editing. In closing, this is a nice monitor with crisp text and a beautiful screen that would be perfect for any home or office user that wants a better than most picture in a moderately priced monitor and can live with a few small deficiencies then you should definitely consider the new Acer AS230 BI.

My impressions were exceeded on this monitor! The frame is non-existent, about as thin as a OLED panel, has great color, has a sturdy stand, and just works great. Everything is crystal clear, I used this as a primary and secondary monitor, and at odd angles, and it looks great all the way around. I love IPS panels!

    Beautiful IPS Monitor

This 23" monitor is beautiful especially at the price point. I've got several monitors and this one is almost as sharp and colorful as the more expensive ones. Another characteristic is it is so light. It is easy to move and that brings it into play as a second monitor. It does not have speakers and has VGA and HDMI input. It is IPS and I noticed that it has an excellent viewing angle just as advertised. I gave it a test with a Dell desktop with Windows 10 and the colors were bright and exact. I like to test by doing things that are 'normal'. I use the Chrome browser type in 'limes' then select images. Repeated with the words lemon, apple, color spectrum. The colors were very nice and correct. I attached this monitor also to a laptop and tested that it could act as a second monitor - that went fine. It does have the normal adjustments underneath the right-side bottom-edge. I also verified that text in various fonts displayed perfectly. I would recommend this monitor as a solid, bright, light-weight and economical choice. Really quite nice.

HD monitors are a dime a dozen these days, so it does take a little more to be impressive. This one is average at best. The screen itself is very bright, the colors pop nicely like LED does, and the display itself is thin at the top, but carries a bit of thickness at the bottom where the I/O is located. Speaking of I/O, a lot is to be desired here. DVI and HDMI is all you get. For some this may be all you need, but a Display port would have been a nice addition just to open up the options. The ports are located facing out the back, so finding and plugging them in are easy but no real way to cable manage just outside of zip-tying them to the stand. The on screen display menu is fairly easy to navigate and gives you some neat options, like blue reduction and different display modes for gaming or movies. No built in audio though for this model. All in all if you need a FHD LED monitor with a bright screen and quick response time, this will serve the purpose, but not a lot of focus on the details puts this in the middle of the road for me.

This monitor was very easy to set up right out of the box. The monitor is very thin and has good clear color display. Was disappointed that the only connector included with the monitor is a vga cord which will not give the HD display the monitor is capable. It does have an input for HDMI and DVI but the cords are not included.

I had been using a 24 inch 1080P TV as my computer monitor for years. I didn't realize how much of a difference and improvement it would be when I switched to this Acer monitor. The text on the desktop icons is so crisp and high quality. Viewing websites and doing daily tasks do not strain my eyes. The only reason I previously used a TV as my computer screen was because it had built in speakers. However, the quality of this Acer monitor easily overshadows the lack of speakers. I just had to add my own cheap set. There are also a variety of setting to adjust the screen image to your liking. Overall, this is a nice monitor for everyday daily tasks or gaming/videos with fast moving scenes.
