Think twice about Best Buy and Acer products

What was once a great company, Acer has fallen to shambles. The workmanship and customer service has declined immensely. When old computer died on us, we went to Best Buy thinking they'd be a good place to start... and it was. But that's it. We bought the monitor with what we thought was an extended warranty turned out to be a Geek Squad software package even though we explicitly wanted an extended warranty. Fast forward four months and it started having problems. The touch screen wouldn't align correctly and so we brought it into Geek Squad to get it replaced. They said they couldn't do anything because we only had the software package and to try and get it replaced with Acer themselves since the Best Buy employee mentioned it was still under factory warranty. This is where we lost all respect for Acer. After sending the monitor to Acer, they called us with the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard from a company. They said they see problem and it was a broken part in their merchandise but they wouldn't do anything about it. They offered to throw the thing away for us for free, but that's it. So now we're stuck with a $400 broken monitor and neither company will help us.
