The best bang for your buck entry gaming monitor?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's important to have the right expectations when purchasing electronics. You can have the awesome performance of a TN panel or the amazing viewing angles of an IPS panel, but you cannot have both! For the price I consider this monitor one of the best entry level gaming monitors on the market. This is a TN panel, while the viewing angles leave something to be desired they are tolerable and are quickly forgotten. What you give up in terms of viewing angles you gain in faster reaction times and higher refresh rates. The stand that comes included rivals those that come with monitors triple the price of this one. This monitor also support Freesync over HDMI for both Radeon graphics cards and the Xbox One, One S and One X consoles for tear free gaming at any price-point! While this monitor does include speakers they aren't very loud, but they are serviceable and very welcome at this price point. There is also a headphone hangar that goes on the back of the monitor which is a nice added touch. The monitor brings a 3 year warranty, which is well above the industry standard. TLDR: Great entry level gaming monitor, feel free to ask me any questions about this monitor. Pros: Tasteful design High quality stand (portrait and landscape positions) Freesync for PC/Xbox One/ Xbox One S/ Xbox One X Acceptable horizontal viewing angles for a TN Panel 1ms response time 75hz refresh rate 250 nits brightness Includes speakers Great calibration options in the user interface Anti-glare coating is perfect Vesa capable 3 year warranty Cons: Low vertical viewing angles Can only enter monitor options with an active input device

Strong monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a strong monitor. It is larger for desktop computer use and midsize to larger for a desktop gaming monitor. It is not curved and has a matte finish. The colors are very vivid, deep and accurate. The monitor is very easy to assemble and configure. The stand’s base it larger than most other monitor bases I’ve used and should be considered when making sure you have the room on your desk/stand for it. The stand allows you to raise and lower the monitor’s height and tilts up and down to find the best viewing angle. The monitor has many preset picture settings that allows you to find settings that appeal to your liking. The monitor also allows you to customize your setting as well. The only real issue I have with this monitor is the stand itself, because it is rather large. The stand doesn’t detract from the overall quality of the picture and the performance.

Amazing Clarity
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Acer - XF251Q LED monitor is fantastic. The screen is bright and colors are vivid. Movies and games look amazing. I use this monitor for work and for watching entertainment. Streamed HD content looks perfect. Motion is not blurry, even with fast paced action. I would recommend to everyone looking for a great monitor.

Great monitor...but......
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome monitor. Really crystal clear picture and the stand is great as well. It allows you to lower the monitor and raise the monitor on the stand as well as tilt forward and backward. Perfect for what I need. The only reason it got 4 stars was because of the speakers. It has speakers, but you'll want to get external speakers if you want better sound. But it's a great monitor otherwise.

Great value on sale
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for $130 and it is well worth it. This is a great gaming or anything monitor at that price. I actually like the monitor stand. Excellent picture quality and really just built for a great 1080p gaming experience.

Nice monitor for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace an older monitor that was incompatible with my current computer. I just happened to have a couple of computer gaming geeks around that day (my daughter and her friend) when I was making this decision, so I asked them. I do not game on PC (other than regular graphics games), so I wasn't really too concerned about refresh rate and so on. Just wanted something better than basic without spending a fortune. This monitor was on sale for about $150, a price that was comparable to regular monitors. Apparently it has a super fast response time (faster than the gamer's monitors- haha) and a good refresh rate. What I noticed when we hooked it up was that I really liked the zero edge screen and it is really bright. It has very good anti-glare properties. The bonus is that it is an Acer and I have always had good experiences with their products. I would highly recommend.

Pretty good budget gaming monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good sized monitor that is connected to an Alienware m17 laptop being driven by a Nvidia GTX 2070 graphics card through HDMI. This is a freesync monitor so it will not reap the benefits from Nvidia's G-Sync technology. I use this monitor to play games and honestly only use the Standard setting on the monitor, although the monitor has plenty of other preset settings such as Gaming, Movies, Photos, etc. I find the color and sharpness is best for my eyes in the Standard settings. Very minimal next to no bezels on three sides makes this monitor look attractive sitting on my desk. Has 2 HDMI ports which I use one to connect my Nintendo Switch to. Comes with a nice "hook" that I used to hang my Astro A40 Gaming headset. For being LED, 1ms response time, you cannot beat the price of this monitor. Yes its only 75 Hz and not 144 Hz but since I am not a pro gamer and not earning money playing games or competing in tournaments, this monitor serves me very well for casual gaming.

Great Monitor Overall
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I initially bought this monitor for use with my Playstation 4 Slim and as a second display for my Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop. First off, the unboxing for this was harder than I thought, as there's no obvious way to get it out of the box. There's little to no instructions on how to assemble it, but I found out that you had to screw the stand to the monitor arm and snap it onto the back. Both the input lag and response time on this monitor are amazing. Since upgrading to this monitor from my 40-inch Sony Bravia, my performance in games like Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch have significantly improved. I haven't instantly gone pro, but I'm able to net more kills and respond faster. The picture quality on this thing is amazing, AFTER calibration. The calibration out of the box is atrocious, and I highly recommend calibrating the video settings using Tom's Hardware review. After calibrating, the quality can somewhat keep up with the likes of IPS monitors. I can still see amazing picture quality on games like Spider-Man, God of War, and The Witcher 3. While I still don't use it to watch videos or stream movies (which I do on my TV), it's sufficient if you just want to watch 1080P videos. The build quality on it is great. It feels solid and sturdy and I'm a huge fan of the swivel, tilt, and pivot on the stand. The extremely thin bezels are great. The buttons on the front are also solid and are great when adjusting settings. The included headphone stand falls off VERY easily and I'd suggest looking at some other reviews for DIY methods to keep it in place (one suggested velcro, which I currently use). The speakers on this thing are REALLY quiet. The quality isn't very good, but I use headphones most of the time, so it isn't much of an issue. If you don't plan on using headphones, I'd suggest investing in speakers or a soundbar. The speakers seem to be placed in the upper left and right hand sides on the backside of the monitor, and as such don't come directly at you. The ports on this thing are decent. I bought this one for its two HDMI ports, but I wish there was a DisplayPort. A VGA port is pretty useless in 2019, but it's good to have one there. I also love the fact there's no power brick, as it makes my cable management easier. There's also little features that I'm a fan of. I like the cable management hole in the stand and the appreciate the included VGA, HDMI, and 3.5mm cables. All in all, this monitor on it's own is pretty great if it's on sale. I bought it for $130, but I wouldn't recommend dishing out the full $220; You can get much better monitors at that price point.

Excellent monitor for general or gaming use!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this monitor cause I needed it for a new gaming PC. I was hesitant at first because I thought it might be too small for my desk but it's actually a really good size! Ample amount of screen room. I am able to get hours of screen time without wearing out my eyesight or making me tired. I'm not a hardcopre gamer and mainly use my PC for browsing the web and listening to music. The built-in speakers are really handy but I couldn't rely on them to be honest. They're not too loud and the quality won't be the best, but hey, you can't complain about built in speakers! Now, I'm about 3 weeks in and I have noticed a stuck, red pixel. I'm hoping I am able to fix this because it really is annoying playing certain games.

Good quality for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this item December 2019 on Christmas sale. Used to add a second monitor to my laptop. I'm 60+ years old, not a technical person and don't play games. Only used for spreadsheet and other general home / home office use. Easy to set up. Color and clarity are good. Does have speakers but the sound quality is marginal at best. You can continue to play the sound through your computer or external speakers.

Don't waste your time and money.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a budget monitor and thought this one would work out. After setting it up, and open FIFA, the ghosting and color quality quickly became an issue. To clarify more, it was reverse ghosting. After trying adjusting the settings, turns out that there's no way to turn off the Overdrive feature which causes the ghosting. Had to return it to bestbuy. 2 stars because of refresh rate, a nice stand, and freesync.

One of the best impulse buys I have ever bought.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is pretty nice for the price. The picture is super clear and vivid, and totally customizable. It raises about 6 inches, tilts forward and backward, spins about 150 degrees, tuns 90 degrees (TABLET MODE), and even has a built in speaker. With it only being 75 Hz the price is a good match. However, It is a perfect size, and only 1ms response time, MAKING IT PERFECT FOR GAMING!

great picture, but boy is it heavy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I wanted a reasonably priced monitor for when I work at home, and this one fit the bill in terms of price and screen size. I figured that the picture must be pretty good since it qualified as a "gaming" monitor. And it is. But this thing is SO HEAVY, and the base takes up a ton of room, compared to other monitors I've seen recently. Would I buy it again? probably not... but only because I tend to work at my kitchen island and I like to put my monitor away when it isn't in use... and this base makes it hard to move. But my college-aged son is dying for me to let him take it to school so that he can use it in his dorm for gaming, video editing, etc... meaning that a different user with different needs would probably rate this 5 stars.

change my perspective of a TN panel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Acer XF251Q gaming monitor had change my prospective of a non-IPS panel. With my years of using an IPS display technology, having to downgrade my viewing experience to the 2nd display that provide a little better viewing experience than a TN panel but let face-it, if it’s not an IPS panel, then it’s a TN panel. With me having to return or exchange my 27-inch Dell monitor which happen to be an IPS panel, I manage to grab an monitor that from built from , “judging from my personal experience”; to be a reliable brand in gaming monitor, I decide to pick up and paired it with my Acer 20-inch IPS panel for a dual monitor setup. With me having to purchase a 4-years products replacement plan for both monitors, due to my past shopping experience with a retail the known to be a “wrost buy”, not having to warry about the monitors for the next 4 years’ worth the additional twenty bulk. As a tech savvy users, I know that technology is not yet to improve in the qulity control department but at the time of doing to exchange, the woman “whom shall remain anonymous” kind of refuse to do the exchange despite of knowing I had the Geek Squad 4-years exchange plan until I saw her the footage of the problem that lead me to return it and explain “for the second time” of the problem. Within less than one-second she told to grab the model that I want and it over and she will do an exchange. After spending couple minutes of “window shopping”, I did not find the model that I want so I was about to give Dell a second change until I saw the Acer XF251Q gaming monitor. Despite from be 2-inch smaller than the model that I return, the price different draw my attention and interest to pickup it up. Once I got home and hooked it up, without any adjustment the setting; the display does not seem to blind me but since it’s not an IPS, the white seems to swift slightly enough that close resample to the color-yellow. So, is it’s worth the time waiting in line for a simple exchange? Yes, in a way. Is it worth the time and patient of shopping at Best Buy, maybe of if you don’t forgot to ask for a paper and/digital copy of your purpose receipt and make sure the purchase is posted on your Best Buy account.

Could not resist the sale price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 10 year old Viewsonic died and I found this at Best Buy for an excellent price. I am not a gamer but really like that the screen moves up and down AND tilts forwards and backwards. A nice touch. Also, the set up was super easy. Hooked it up and it was ready to use.

Solid 1080p monitor
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At the sale price I was able to grab this monitor for, it was definitely worth it. It doesn’t have the most stellar colors or picture, but it does the job! I use it as a second monitor while I’m gaming and it serves its purpose. If you can grab it on sale, I recommend it. It’s best used for general work, but can be used for 1080p gaming if needed.
