The quality of the screen is nice but the screen itself is just unpleasant to look at. It seems like the colors are dull.

This monitor may be "okay" for video games but it certainly is not for actual work or any type of streaming. The screen is dull and colors muted. Nothing is crisp and no matter the settings attempted even using the "movie" setting it is dull dull dull. HDMI cord is being used as well. This particular size monitor was not on display when purchased in store and I trusted the sales person. It will be going back as soon as I have a new one delivered.

Piece of Garbage

This monitor is a piece of garbage. Sometimes it simply decides that it won't connect with my computer and there is no way to get it to recognize it again. My old monitor never had this problem, so it is not an issue with the computer.
Also a few months after purchasing a black spot appeared where some LEDs just stopped working on the monitor. Cheap piece of crap. Use your money for something else that will actually work properly.

Good Gaming Monitor

I found the ACER XF251Q Gaming Monitor to be a good value for the cost. It may not have all of the inputs and options of more expensive monitors, but it is better than average and comes at a very competitive price. First, it looks very nice coming out of the box. The bezel is very narrow on 3 sides of the sides, with an average bezel along the bottom. The stand has 4 legs, with 2 of the legs being parallel to the bottom of the bottom and the other 2 legs sweeping slightly backwards. The monitor is VESA mountable, if desired. The inputs are VGA and HDMI, and it was very easy to hook up. It was nice that it came with both a VGA and HDMI cables. It does support AMD Freesync through the HDMI input. Gaming looked very good on the 24.5 inch LED FHD (1920 x 1080) screen, as long as your viewing angle is fairly straight on. The response time is listed as 1ms with a refresh rate of 75mhz, and I did not experience any ghosting or flickering. Brightness is listed as 250 nits with a contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1. The viewing angle is listed as 170 degrees horizontally and 160 degrees vertically. Personally, I found that to be just a little generous with viewing decreasing noticeably as I sat to the side. That said, I do almost all of my gaming by myself, sitting right in front of the monitor, so this was not an issue for me. The monitor does have 2 speakers which I found to be about average for small monitor speakers, and I was pleased to find that the monitor includes a jack for headphones. You can find gaming monitors with UHD capability, more input varieties, and that are more friendly for wide viewing angles. But for the price of this monitor, with the features that it has, I believe this to be a very good FHD gaming monitor that will be excellent for a small to middle-budget gaming setup.

I am surprised. This monitor is actually very sharp picture wise and does not have any noticeable blur in games. Like the fact that you can plug in other things besides a computer into there. An XBOX 360, a Fire Stick if you wish or other HDMI Components. They all look great.
And , it's one of the larger format monitors that still remembers that users of computers with VGA ports need some love too and it includes one of those if you need it.
Speakers are built in and sound is kind of tiny at best depending on what you're outputting into device, best to use external sound. That's the only flaw I found on this.
Setup was a breeze. No tools needed to setup to be honest, the base has easy screws and the monitor snaps into place on the other portion of the stand so no problem.
I think gamers would appreciate the setup and quality of the build on this monitor and would make a good choice for their setup if they are looking for something budget conscious without sacrificing quality.

Very bad quality. The screen cuts off the image on the left side of the screen. I bought to use in portrait mode but that means it cut off the top of the screen, where all the icons are. I returned to the store asap.

This monitor is advertised as a gaming monitor, so obviously that is one aspect to focus on. In that regard, the monitor has some excellent features that make for a smooth gaming experience. The refresh rate is pretty crazy and the lack of glare on the screen is amazing. I have to windows in the room with this monitor that let in a lot of sun. No effect on the screen.
However, this monitor is also fantastic for more everyday use. The full HD resolution, anti-glare, and brightness all make for an excellent combination. Watching a movie on your computer just got a whole lot better with this monitor. And considering the features this monitor offers, the price seems very reasonable to me. It meets gaming expectations but doesn't have an over the top price which might exclude it from the more casual user's consideration.

I have had this product for a few weeks now and this is what I know.
Pros:
You cant complain about the price, with a high quality LED 24.5" screen with AMD FreeSync (tested on NVIDIA GTX 1060 GB card) is well worth looking at for monitors under $200.00. A+
Has 2 HDMI slots to plug in both your gaming consoles and get FreeSync to work as well as getting 1920 x 1080 @ 75Hz and 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz with VGA input. (Tested with 2 HDMI @ 75Hz). Tested with Metal Solid V game for a week set at 75Hz w/FreeSync and have been blown away with the speed of the refresh as well as overall gaming experience as the games details appear to be more vivid and fluid movement within the gaming environment. A+
The stand is high quality (however heavy) allowing to adjust vertically up & down, Horizontal Viewing is 170 degrees and vertical of 160 degrees. This stand also allows you to turn monitor 180 degrees to view document style viewing if needed is just easy as siting and adjusting viewing of a book or other media in a snap. B+
Cons:
The stand is heavy meaning taking this to your friend’s house is a bit more work.
The FreeSync only works with AMD video cards (Check you system first to see if it’s compatible).
Overall I am pleased with this monitor and its quality you can’t touch in this price range, so kudos to Acer for making this possible. I would recommend to anyone with compatible system.

This monitor is great for a work environment. My desk is not very deep so the 24" is no problem. I do not use it for any gaming currently. It is clear and crisp and I have had no issues.
It has built in speakers but take that for what it is worth. They work for sound but are not going to win any awards as no built in monitor speakers would.
It gets extensive use 8 hours a day 5 days a week and is still going strong.

One Sweet Monitor

This monitor is far superior to my two other monitors (HP 2011X and Dell 23 in LED). It came nicely boxed and was relatively easy to get mounted onto the quite versatile desktop stand even though the assembly instructions were somewhat sparse. That stand permits adjustments on all three axes: rotate left or right, slide up or down vertically, and tilt up or down. I did not use the provided speaker cable so I cannot comment on the sound that might be produced from the monitor. With the stand attached, the monitor is a bit heavier than my other monitors but with built-in speakers and power adapter, I guess that should be expected.
I really like the matte screen finish which reduces the amount of reflected light. The colors were quite vibrant yet realistic with very good and even saturation. However, I noticed some color differences between the bottom and the top of the screen when viewing the Windows 10 desktop wallpaper picture. It was a very gradual darkening of color from the bottom to the top, but with consistent color from the left to the right sides of the screen. I switched from the wallpaper picture to a solid non-black color and thereby revealed the color grading more clearly. It definitely was noticeably darker at the top of the screen than at the bottom. I did not see any blooming or leaking around the edges from the LED back lights as I did on my two other monitors. I thought it might be due to the viewing angle, but the resulting viewing angle was undesirable once the screen was adequately tilted to eliminate the color variation. If I changed the solid background color to all black, there was no longer any color variation from top to bottom and it really was a very nice, deep black.
The menu system is very intuitive and easy to use even though I did not need to change any of the default settings. When I viewed the display properties in Windows 10, I saw that the monitor was properly FREESYNCed with my Radeon RX570 Graphics card. Neat. I believe that the FREESYNC feature works only with AMD graphics cards but there are other monitors out there that will perform a similar function for those nVidia graphics cards.
Since I am not a gamer, I cannot offer an opinion about the monitor's advertised 1 ms response time.
I do not find the color variation mentioned earlier to make the monitor unacceptable - it might not even be noticeable in a gaming situation or when playing videos. Nevertheless, I would encourage prospective buyers to check the monitor out in a store somewhere before shelling out the money for one.

The first thing I'm going to mention is how well built this monitor is. The stand is one of the best stands I've ever used for a monitor. It tilts, swivels, adjusts up and down and looks great.
The picture quality is good. The colors are a little dull, but the response time is great. It does have built in speakers, but even on full volume, you can barely hear anything. This isn't that big of a deal, as most people have their own computer speakers.
Overall this is a very good monitor for gaming, and I would recommend it to PC gamers.

Incredible Gaming Monitor

The best LED gaming monitor of 2018 bwith inbuilt speakers and multiple inputs. There's so much about the Acer XF 251 to love but the dual HDMI input + VGA inputs means this is head and shoulders above other LED monitors I considered. I have this connected into my gaming laptop (Acer Nitro) and the other HDMI is used for my Nintendo Switch. The XF 251also has a VGA input but I haven't used it for that. Acer seem to have thought of everything. The monitor is frameless, can rotate on the stand in horizontal of vertical mode. And the rotation goes both ways, so I was able to have the controls on the right side, but if I wanted them on the left it would rotate the other way. No other monitor I tested came close. Acer also don't cut costs and have the decency to include HDMI, VGA and an audio cable in the box. Thank You! I don't get why everyone else doesn't follow Acer's lead. Audio from the inbuilt speakers is actually pretty good and a step up from my laptop. But there's an audio out jack if you want to push the audio (from HDMI pass through) out to external speakers. Very very happy!
