The agents mounted the TVs perfectly but my wires weren’t concealed liked I requested. They are coming back out to finish the job.

TV was mounted above fireplace but not enough room was left for the sound bar to be installed on the wall (under the TV). I purchased all items at once and reminded them when they arrived to leave room for it. They placed the sound bar on top of the cable box and Xbox, which initially seemed like it may work fine but it blocks the sensor for the TV remote. Now I have to buy some kind of shelving system to place next to the fireplace. It's kind of frustrating considering the amount of money I paid for the installation.

We recently purchased a TV and sound bar with a tilting mount to be placed above the fireplace in our new home. The geek squad showed up, told me I needed a 15 ft HDMI cable, to the tune of a little over $100.00. I went on line and found a cable on amazon for $18.20. He said that his cable (the only one he had with him) would provide superior audio, and video. He further stated that the $18.00 cable would actually be about the same quality as his $100.00 cable since my tv provider is dish, however if I didn’t want to purchase the $100.00 cable it would be 2 weeks before he could be back. He then stated that it would be $ 80.00 to fish the line through the wall to the cabinet down below, AND if I wanted the blu ray hooked up guess what, another $100.00 cable and another $80.00 to fish an additional line. Very flippant attitude from the installer about additional expense and seemed to actually take delight in breaking the news. Not happy at all with the customer service, but couldn’t be happier with the customer service we received in the store for the actual purchase. Noah and Jack were a pleasure to deal with. Christopher, from the geek squad would certainly benefit from customer service training.

The tv was mounted too low on the wall which hid my sound bar. Need the tv raised so I can put the sound bar in front of the tv

    Questionable Installation Choice

Friendly and efficient employees, but for some reason, they installed the bracket where it almost completely blocks the electrical outlet. If I ever have to unplug my TV or try to plug in something else, I’m not sure I can. I can’t understand why they’d do that. An inch or two higher, and it would have been fine. Irritating and questionable choice on their part!

So I tried to get an in home estimate to scope out the work of installing my TV over the Fireplace. Unfortunatly unless I bought a new TV through Best Buy they would not estimate the work. I then went into the local store to speak with a in house Geek Squad agent. I wanted to make sure I understood the work. He explained that they would be able to hide the wires using a kit that they could sell me onsite. My concerns were appeased and I went ahead and ordered the work. When the technician arrived they told me that they could not put the wiring in the wall due to it being through a second stud. I completely understand that; however they should have been able to scope this ahead of time so that I could make arrangements to have an electrician in to get that work done first. Then once they installed the TV they did not center it on the wall and now it is a bit too low on the wall. They also made multiple holes in that wall without patching them at all. I would recommend looking into and pricing out alternate mounting services before going through Best Buy at this point.

The installation seemed ok, the 75inch TV -(Samsung-awesome TV) was crooked and the installers had to come back to fix that. This was in June- last week (March now) I heard a noise from the TV and it seemed to have come farther off the wall- on further investigation the original installer had only used 3 of the four bolts to hold the bracket to the wall and the weight of the TV appeared to be pulling the bracket off the wall. It seems like a minor problem compared to what CoVid is doing to our country, but I was afraid the 80 lb TV could fall off the wall and kill or hurt someone-like my dog who sleeps at the base of the TV. I spent 60 minutes talking to Best Buy and got rerouted to 5 different people who each gave a different answer to my options. And finally they found one person who could answer my question of whether the remaining 3 bolts would hold the TV to the wall. And was informed to call back on April 6th for a repair.

The agent mounted my TV and didnt discuss the height with me and my sound bar is to far back behind the TV that I have a hard time using the remote for the sound bar. We have expensive furniture and he put his tools on our furniture which was not appropriate or appreciated. I have hardwood floors and heard things being dropped on the floors constantly. On top of it him and his assistant kept going in and out of my house. Ive had the geek squad in another house and they had things on their feet just incase of tracking dirt or whatever into my house or on their shoes. This guy and his assistant were not wearing anything. I couldnt be more unhappy with this installation or the agent. If your going to have people going into people's houses they should treat your customers houses and furniture like they would want someone treat theirs. We did not renew our membership bc of this experience.

Originally drilled holes in the wall that would not have allowed for a flush mount. Had to remount leaving holes in the wall now not being used. Was told it would be a "box build out" that would fill the empty space. Basically ended up with a couple of 2x4s mounted to the wall with the mount attached to those. Luckily the TV fills the gap.

Congratulations on your new TV and thanks for taking the initiative to share this experience with us. It’s certainly frustrating if a service doesn’t go the way originally hoped. Every installation situation can be quite unique depending on factors like the TV being mounted, the surface upon which techs are mounting the product, and many others that may not be obvious until an agent is present in-home to assess the work area. I would advise to contact Geek Squad at (800) GEEK-SQUAD or (800) 433-5778 for agents to take a closer look at your situation and answer any of your outstanding questions and/or concerns about your mounting service.

The installers came to my house to install the mount and TV the day before the Super Bowl. However, the sales person in the sale never mentioned that we needed a site survey ahead of time. Therefore, the installers had to do that first and were unable to install the TV on the wall prior to the game. Would have been nice to have been made aware of this at the time of purchase

Spoke to your CSR, for Re-do. Told I would be contacted and placed on schedule. Charged for work that was not completed. T.V. requires an outlet. Wasn't told until everyone came out to install. Hired Electrician to perform job. T.V. must be taken down first. T.V. too low on mantel. Have yet to hear from Best Buy.

I purchased a Samsung Frame and had it mounted above my fireplace. The first installers from Geek Squad did were not able to make the mounting look good, so I had to hire my own people to come in and make it so that all the Geek Squad had to do was mount and plug in the TV. The person that ultimately came was supposed to be there between 8 and 12pm, but instead showed up at 1:30. That person then hung the TV, plugged it in, and then refused to do install the actual frame of the TV because "he didn't know how." Moreoever, I paid extra for the GeekSquad to ensure that the TV worked with my existing sound system... that never happened (nor did they even try). Instead, I once again had to hire other people to come over to get the TV and my sound system working together. GeekSquad install was not helpful for me. The extra $$ they charged me was also a waste of money.

I have never had so much trouble getting a tv hooked up as I did this time. I bought a tv and came back in the next day to set up installation. I was promised that it would be installed in three days. I was given a window of 7am to 4pm. I waited all day and no one showed up. I called and was told it was cancelled by Best Buy with no reason. I was then told they would come in another week. Again they did not show up finally after almost a month they came and installed. While this was all going on I couldn’t get any help from customer service. I’m so disappointed with Best Buy. I’ve bought all of my electronics and appliances from you and have never been treated this way. With all of the stores vying for my business maybe Best Buy is no longer the store for me.
