    I found no difference in the service between mounting on a drywall vs over the fireplace. No difference in terms of any equipment nor effort. Very disappointed. Did not expect this of BestBuy. Felt ripped off.

      Thank you for sharing your TV mounting experience. I can appreciate wanting to get the most for my dollar when using Geek Squad service, and I apologize for any disappointment. My understanding is that there may be an extra charge for mounting to harder materials, such as brick, concrete, stone, cinder block and hollow block, such as those found with a fireplace.

    its april 2nd still wanting for tv to be mounted since march 3rd so far 3 no shows i dont know how many phone calls and one store visit bridgrwater nj store my advise? order from amazon and get a contractor to mount your tv

    MOJUNTING BY GEEK SQUAD GUYS WAS TERRIFIC - BUT WHY DO I PAY EXTRA FOR MOUNTING ABOVE A NON-VENTEDD FIREPLACE THAT REQUIRED NO SPECIAL EFFORT THAN IF INSTALLED ON ANY OTHER WALL??

    Agents failed to conduct an estimate prior to installation. Once they arrived on day of installation informed me that they were not capable of completing an installation above my fireplace. Unsatisfactory preparation, would not recommend.

    We had asked questions so that we would be prepared and were told that they would be able to hook it up. Then the day of the appointment they actually couldn't do it because the wires had not been completed as we originally thought even though told different.

    They sent 2 guy's that was contractors for best buy and I never saw a best buy employee. They didn't know anymore than I did and I had to hire another guy to come and remount and redo the entire thing. They drilled about 20 holes trying to just hit a stud.

    This is $99 extra (on top of $200 mounting fee) just because there is drywall above the fireplace - I don't understand why it costs more than if it were brick or stone or tile? Best Buy Geeks did a good job installing, but the mounting fees cost more than the TV.

    Geek squad did amazing job installing new tv! Not happy with them charging an extra 100.00 to hang above an electric fireplace on a drywalled wall. Should not have been any extra charge. Absolutely no extra work involved! Other than that, they did a good job

    The whole time they were installing our TV they bad mouthed the cable company. Also consider the customer and don’t try to make a buck. They had us buy a mount rather than use the one we had.

    This is a wonderful service if you want to pay $500 for exposed wires running down a wall & having to set up your own wifi tv. We had to completely rewire the tv ourselves. Complete waste of money. I would give zero stars if able

    The Geek Squad agents for unable to mount my TV They had no other options for me to get my TV mounted I had to find someone myself To do the job which did take me awhile

    Charged over $400 to mount over fireplace

    Why did it cost so much to mount and wires are still visible? They wanted to charge me extra to purchase wire covers but the more I think about it why did it cost over$400 just to mount a TV?!

      A TV mounted over a fireplace can have such a nice look. It is accurate that for a variety of reasons, mounting above a fireplace can cost more than mounting your TV in a different area.     The agent (not in geek squad uniform) mounted the TV then left. He did not connect to cable nor any other devices. Very different experience from 3 years ago when we received excellent service.

      Thanks for taking the time to share this with us. We appreciate that you choose us to mount your TV over a fireplace, but it's discouraging to hear we didn't finish the job. While it's our goal to get things right the first time around, we know that sometimes it doesn't work out that way. That's why we have a 90-day warranty on our work so and Agent can come back out free of charge to redo the service.     This was not used in mounting my TV. Vera determined it was not necessary. I was charged unnecessarily.

    It was such a bad experience I’m looking at changing all my services and further purchases so I don’t have to deal with terrible customer service from Best Buy’s contractors
