The silver portion is actually black plastic covered in a chrome material that will show wear over time. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

It looks high quality, feels great in my hand with plenty of "grip" to provide security even when I'm out jogging with it on occasion, and has provided sufficient protection for the phone (although I have taken care to not drop it -- so far). Couldn't be happier with it.
