First bone conduction I have owned

Let me start by saying these are the first bone conduction headphones I have owned. I am more than impressed, I had heard that the highs were not very good with bone conduction headphones, but these really do the job well. I have a slight case of tinnitus that leaves a persistent ringing in my ears. This usually affects my hearing of higher tones. The bone conduction really seems to bypass that issue for me, miles may vary depending on your issue.
Overall the battery life is really fantastic, the box claims 6 hours but I have gone an entire work day using them for conference calls and still had battery left.
Comfort wise, they do take a little getting use to, but they are very comfortable after you find the best adjustment for you. I have a rather large head, but I am still able to pull them a little further forward to help with the comfort.
The mic works great, no issues during my meetings.
There are three equalizer settings, one for voice, one for standard and one for ear plug. You can use ear plugs if you are in a loud environment or just want a little more quiet. I like to use them when flying, so I am looking forward to see how these headphones work on my next flight.
In the package you receive a USB type C cable for charging, a set of ear plugs like you would find on the floor of any data center or factory and a carrying pouch.
Overall I can't find a issue with these and I really like them. Not having something in or over my ears is a new level of comfort, especially if you wear glasses.

FINALLY - bluetooth sound that I can use at work!

I've tried a LOT of bluetooth sound products, all of which were great to downright awesome, except for when I'm at work. It seems every time I put them on/in , someone would call on the phone, call me on the radio , or walk up to me and start talking and I wouldn't hear them. Even those that allow ambient noise in just never quite had the right balance between music and ambient noise - these change all of that!
They don't go IN the ear, they go just in front of the ear and then use your jawbone to conduct the sound into the ear, leaving your ears wide open for ambient noise but still striking a great amount of sound. By using the included ear plugs, you can block out noise if you're somewhere you don't need to hear, which makes the sound even louder and more full.
They're marketed mostly towards runners/bikers who need to hear while doing their excercise thing, but for us who live in an office environment, they're absolutely what the doctor ordered.
Battery life is as advertised - roughly 6 hours.
They weigh next to nothing. After a few minutes you forget they're even there.
Very nice product - I'll be watching this technology for any future releases, these really made me happy!

I'm really enjoying these so far. I like being able to hear the ambient noise around me as well as listening to my music while on my ebike. I can still have communication with my riding friends and listen to my music. Battery life gets around 6 to 7 hours of use and the unit is very light. USB C charging makes this even more attractive. My only complaint is that wearing them for extended period of time caused a headache. I confirmed that by wearing them for over an hour and experiencing more than one headache each session. Maybe I have a big head and they're just a little tight. Maybe your results will vary. Aftershokz include a grey pull-tie case and a two year warranty.

These are my first experience with “open ear/bone conducting” headphones and I’m really blown away. The fit and finish is top notch, they fit me surprisingly well (I have a big head), and have been comfortable to wear for extended periods. Whether I’m sitting at my desk, exercising, or doing yard work these things sit on my ears and don’t move. No matter what I do they stay put and stay comfortable. The sound is great and was odd at first without having something in my ear, but I was used to that after 1 or 2 songs! Sound quality is also impressive, they can get plenty loud!

I bought these to jog in and to use as opposed to holding my cell phone up to my ear...They do NOT hold a charge for very long. I can have them charging for an entire day or 2, but they will die out within a few hours... I am returning them to the store...

These don’t stay connected! I wouldn’t recommend these! When on a call and fully charged they switch and connect to my phone. Also when on phone and on a call and switch to another call they don’t stay connected for the second call.

Hey there! We're sorry to hear this is happening. We'd recommend a manual reset (instructions for this can be found in the user manual and on the help center on our website). If the issue persists, we have a two-year warranty on all Shokz and would be happy to assist you in filing a warranty claim. Thank you!

Not for me

Just not for me personally.
This is my first experience with bone conducting headphones. I didn't really know what to expect to be honest. I will say they just are not for me. The sound quality is just okay. Definitely not for audiophiles.
When trying to bring up the bass etc. you feel a weird pulsing that is not pleasant. You get a set of ear plugs to isolate outside noise and you get slightly better sound.
I will say they sound fine for podcasts, talk radio, etc. I think these are more designed for those who want a better awareness of their surroundings. Perhaps a runner, working out or sitting at your desk.
Comfort is again just okay in my opinion; I have not been able to get used to something resting in front of my ears. I also experience sound changing when moving my jaw etc.
Controls are very simple, simple 2 buttons and battery life is average at 6 hours.
Water resistance has a IP55 rating.
Multipoint pairing allows you to be connected to 2 devices at once.
Call quality is very good. Perhaps a little loud on the receiver end.
Bottom line – Good for walker, runner, biking etc. where you want more awareness of surroundings. Not for someone looking for high quality music etc.

Good Headphones, One Size Fits Few

AfterShokz “open ear” OpenMove headphones are a new tech I had heard of but never seen anyone use or that had tried before. I was super intrigued to get a pair and try them out. In the box you get the headphones, a user guide pamphlet, a card to setup bluetooth, a storage/cleaning instruction guide, a carrying case pouch, two foam ear plugs (for some reason), and a charging cord. The box itself is clear so you see the headphones right from the get go and everything else is behind the cardboard displaying them.
Functionally these are very nice, I found the sound to be plenty adequate and when I removed them could not hear any sound leaking out (so 12 inches or further you won’t disturb your neighbor on the bus). I expected that since it conducts the sound through your ear bones that it would vibrate or have a “weird” feeling but that simply wasn’t the case. It rests just below your ear, its shaped to go where it’s intended, and gave me no sensation of oddness or vibration at all.
My complaint however is that I don’t see that they come in any other size and I found no way to adjust them smaller or larger. Out of the box they loop around the back of my head and rest below my ears with a huge gap behind me. They droop down during walking, putting the ear pieces at an awkward angle so they aren’t great for traveling. When I sit on the couch or in my recliner the back of the band is pressed into my head and the ear pieces pop forward making listening while sitting impossible unless you have space behind your head. Its mind boggling that these offer no adjustment at all, and without that I’d say their use is slim to none.
Beyond the neat sound and the impossible fit the headphones also offer typical features of a wireless headset: bluetooth calls with built in microphone, volume up buttons, volume down, etc. It doesn’t really matter beyond not being able to wear them.
They make a smaller size but the pictures look like its designed for kids, not sure that's right either. There are better adjustable headphones out there, unless you really want bone conductive audio you may wanna shop around first.

Very Impressive and I'm a convert!

I do lots of outdoor sports where hearing my surroundings is important for safety. My solution has been to use just one side of a pair of earbuds. But after using the OpenMove headphones, I’m a convert and I’ll be using these from now on for my outdoor activities.
The sound that comes out of these, for not being in-ear headphones. is so surprisingly good. It really took me by surprise how well bone conduction works. More on that in a second...
The controls are convenient enough to use. There’s a multifunction button on the left “earbud”. This button performs a lot of functions from play, pause, skipping songs, and answering calls.
On the right side of the unit, there’s a power button that also doubles as a volume up button, a volume down button, along with the USB-C charging port that’s covered by a little rubber door to keep sweat out.
If you press the volume up and down buttons at the same time, this changes the EQ and here’s where these earbuds impressed me.
The standard EQ is a good, general setting. Clarity is great for being open ear but there isn’t much for bass response. Again, these are open ear so there’s no driver into your ear canal. The vocal booster mode is great for content like podcasts. Then there’s an earplug mode. This is the mode that took my surprise. After inserting the included earplugs, this is the mode that delivers a surprising amount of bass. So you’d use this mode for situations where you actually don’t want to hear your environment and want isolation.
They are also very secure while doing activities like running, biking, and other gym-based activities. I can wear these for hours on end and they remain comfortable.
The construction of these headphones is very good. I thought for a $100 pair of headphones there would be some corner-cutting but these are constructed well.
Super impressed and highly recommended!

Amazing technology

I've always seen these on display, but never tried them. I'm glad I finally did. This is amazing technology. I'm sure the physics/biology behind them makes sense, but I'm still in awe every time I use them. For someone who has always had problems with ear buds either fitting in my ears or staying in my ears, not having to worry about that problem with these headphones makes a world of difference.
Yes, you're not going to get the same sound quality as in-ear buds, but for the casual music listener and, especially, for spoken audio (audiobooks, podcasts), these can't be beat. And, to be able to stay aware of ambient sounds while listening is a plus.

After owning 2 pairs of Aftershokz and both pair breaking in a odd way (rubber ear conductor came of first pair, speaker broke off second pair) I swore I wouldn't buy another pair but here I am with my third. i was hoping that this would be the charm but alas it isn't. First, the good. they have very good sound and the amount of bass is almost overbearing at times. I've only had them a couple months so I can't speculate on the build quality. The bad. They are fairly pricey and the battery doesn't last nearly as long as either of my prior sets. As far as open air, You may as well have full on/over ear headphones on because you can't truly hear anything outside of them once you have them on.

Once these are adjusted correctly with the ear plugs and pods placement they sound really good. Strong bass and crisp highs. Vocals were clear and not muddy as other in the range. The only real problem I had is that they are very finicky to get positioned for optimal sound. You can use them without much effort but they sound pretty bad, however as stated before when you get them set up they are pretty good. Set up right they are 4-5 stars, not set up right they would struggle to get 1 star
