If you purchased the first run of the UHD version, make sure you visit the Funimation website to request a true UHD copy. The original run had an error in the production process that left out the Dolby Vision feature in the USA. *DISCLAIMER*- this is not a film for young children to see, very mature content and themes presented... It's taken me so long to be introduced to this film, but better late than never! One of the most unique and beautifully animated films I've ever seen! A masterpiece.

You should get this amazing anime and watch it with many many friends you can and keep watching it on all your tvs it was a good anime to watch

I recently saw this classic anime for the first time and was blown away, I had to get this 4K version. This is the later release with the corrected HDR

I read about this anime and had to check it out, I bought this with out having seen it and I don't regret it this is one of the best anime movies I've ever seen. It was made back in the 80s but the blu ray version looks like it was just made it looks and sounds great

If you have not seen Akira yet, please do yourself a favor and watch it. This is a staple movie to own/watch for any lover of film. Even for those who don't dig animation very much, this is beautifully done. The score is amazing and every single frame is hand drawn.

I originally saw this film in theaters during its first US release. I've never seen an animated film with such skill. Although current computer generated assistance to animation does improve some quality issues, in my opinion this film is the finest of its era.

This is the version that has not only the Japanese dub, but both the Streamline and Geneon dubs, so you can watch it three different times and get a slightly different experience each time. Also, undeniable classic; might be the best anime ever made. Highly recommended.

This looked so good! It's like they went through and recolored everything for 4k. Amazing clarity of both picture and sound. This film still holds up.

The 4k transfer is awesome for this movie. The colors are nice for this movie will get a lot of attention in my theater.

What a classic! The fantastic art work, haunting music and story. It was translated well from the Manga and hit most of the important steps from it. If you like Anime, you can’t go wrong with this awesome movie!

This is my favorite anime movie of all time, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy the 4K release of this classic film. The only problem is that the 4K disc is not HDR and you need to send an e-mail request to Funimation so they can ship you out a 4K HDR disc replacement which may or may not take a while. Other than that, I'm happy with my purchase.

The sheer brilliance of the work put into this masterpiece from Katsuhiro Otomo is everything animation could be. This is the birth of great anime, all the inspiration from today's work comes from this AKIRA movie and manga series.

Akira is an incredible movie and this 3 disc Collectors steelbook is just as incredible. The iconic imagery combined with some seriously awesome embossing make this a must have for fans of the movie for Steelbook collectors in general. A must have!

After more than 25 years Akira is still one of the most exciting Japanese anime films I've ever seen. This 2 disc Blu-Ray edition looks better than the previous DVD, and includes both English dub tracks as well as the original Japanese track. Very glad I bought it.

Glad to see that Akira was restored & also releasing the original 1988 dubbed version with the Blu Ray version. Any anime old school person that remembers this anime well should get this cause it brings back the memories. ----" I Am Tetsuo"---(Final words said in Akira movie)

I remember the first time I saw this outstanding anime back when SYFY channel would show uncut anime movies on Saturday mornings. It has stuck with me ever since. This is the anime of all animes, great animation still to do this day and great storytelling!

Akira is a classic and for me, a must own. Like a lot of people, it was the first Anime I ever saw and was back in a time where you couldn't find this stuff online. It's over 2 decades old and people still refer to it... and everybody can recognize that motorcycle!
