The film 10/10 the transfer is about an 8/10 worth it but there’s only so much you can do with animation

This is the best version of Akira that has been released here. It includes both the original dub and the newer one. The picture quality is outstanding and it's great to see a blu-ray release of this anime classic.

A very good movie. That looks very nice in 4k. I would recommend it highly to anybody that likes anime.

I don't watch a ton of anime but I have always heard good things about Akira. I was completely blown away by this movie. Within the first couple of minutes I was totally on board. It even made me want to go back and read the manga.

Clean remaster well worth the watch. If you liked watching it online... get this so you don't have streaming compression.

This movie hit like a bombshell when it was first shown in arthouses and colleges back in the 1980s. It is still powerful, and this edition is definitive, with both the original English soundtrack and a newer one from 2001.

Akira is synonymous with the anime genre and one of the greatest anime motion pictures ever made. A two hour classic fever dream style movie and a must purchase. Audio and video are spectacular. Highest recommendation.

Awesome Anime and ahead of its time. It still feels current and not dated. This version comes with the DVD and Bluray discs with surround sound. It also has a special features disc for even more added entertainment for the fans of this anime.

Awesome movie but I am reading that the 4k release of this film is not hdr and funimation will offer a free 4k hdr disc come February 2021. I deducted a star because of what I just mentioned other than that it looks better than ever and the packaging is great. Akira is one of my favorite movies ever so I always recommend everyone see it.

What can I say that hasn't been said about this groundbreaking work? Leaps forward in animation, philosophical dives into the nature of humanity and our evolution, and a mind-blowing ending. (literally!) Well worth your time

This is my Greatest Anime Movie Of All Time. This Blue-ray comes with a great box cover. Of course you will not be albe to stop watching this multiple times.

Amazing! Akira looks and sounds better than ever in this 4K restoration. Comes in beautiful packaging with an awesome slip cover and a book about the making and history.

I had an old DVD copy of Akira that was not quite up to standards of newer audio and video equipment. This fresh transfer was the right price and looked and sounded great on my equipment. Highly recommend this product.

Huge upgrade compared to the previous release on bluray. Crisper clearer deeper image quality. Sound is way better too. Highly recommend!

Picking up Akira in 4K UHD was a great spur of the moment decision and loved seeing it in this format

What a fantastic film! It's THE GODFATHER of anime, and I simply had to purchase this for one of my graduating seniors. Anime and manga are very popular with teens today, but they all seem so ignorant that this film even exists.

No Akira? Nothing but Disney films and films for kids and teenagers. Akira started a whole genre of adult themes and complicated stories in animation. And the PQ/AQ is amazing. A must buy for your library

Akira was the anime that kind of popularized anime in the US, in the early '90s - classic - still holds up - great animation and great story - this package has the original version with the original dubbed voices (which I prefer)

This is the granddaddy of anime, the one that put the genre on the map. Visually stunning, fantastic sound, and it has never looked better! Great transfer to bluray. Also has the option of listening to the original English dub or the newer one. While the newer dub is a bit more accurate in the translations of the dialog and carries more the original meanings and subtext, I still prefer the voice acting of the original English dub. Great great movie, highly recommended!
