Akira still holds up to any anime in the market. The story is very complex, but there are three audio tracks to help with the comprehension of the story.

i saw this about thirteen years when it first came out on dvd i was amaze about the animation and the mature story telling for a animated film , a must have for any anime on blu-ray .

This to me is one of the best anime movies ever made. This version on blu ray is fantastic. The Japanese soundtrack sounds outstanding on a good surround system!

Excellent collector's edition. Akira is an anime classic, and I am happy to upgrade my old DVD. The only thing to note is that you have to request a replacement 4k disc from Funimation because it does not have HDR. Otherwise, this is great.

any cinephile or anime freak should watch this at least once, it pushed the envelope and still does with the amount of films it influenced regardless of geography.

Got this for my son. He didnt think I ever listened to him and he was surprised that I got this. Loves this movie. Recommend to anyone who is into Anime.

This is one my my all time favorite movies. When I learned that this collector's case was coming out I knew I had to get it. Everyone must watch this movie.

Epic anime! Not suitable for kids, very graphic violence for a "cartoon". Great story involving government, military, psychic power, and apocalypse.

The Anime classic finally has a collectors case worthy of its legacy. Embossed with a glossy format its a must for fans of Akira, or great classic anime.

Another cool throw back for anime fans for sure had to buy it and was cheaper on here than Amazon!!

The 4K picture is beautiful. The audio comes with the original 1988 English dub, which is what I want.

Long considered one of the best classic animes to date. Not a lot of changes with Blu Ray but looking forward to exploring all the special features.

Picture quality for a non-HDR 4k is excellent. Easily the best this movie has ever looked. However, Funimation promised HDR on the package, but shipped a non-HDR disc. They have pledged to ship a refactored 4k disc with HDR once it is created, if you send them proof of purchase etc, so they are working to correct the mistake. The package ALSO stated there was a Funimation digital code inside, which was not in there either... but Funimation is NOT pledging to correct THAT error. Truth of it is, I am a physical copy person, so it is not that big of a deal... but the entire advertising v delivery is pretty bad on this one. Excellent 4k transfer regardless.
