You can lay in the all the way back, and it is stable. the armrests are adjustable, they slide forward and back and can twist inward or outward. it is a decent chair, I purchased it on sale.

They move inwards and outwards but you dont have to push a button release in order to move it. so every time you bump into them it moves and you will find yourself constantly adjusting them. the price for these chairs are ridiculous as are all computer chairs. get them on sale. otherwise, I would not recommend this to a friend.
