As with all of Disney's Diamond Editions, this is just the next one in line. And, as with all of them, this one is superbly remastered. The audio sounds amazing in 5.1, very room filling. The picture and animation quality is up to date and modernized. If you've never watched Aladdin before you wouldn't know it's from the early 90's by watching this Diamond Edition. Probably my own opinion when I say this but, personally, I don't think any other past Disney movie will ever have the same quality as The Lion King. To me, that's the best restoration to date. Also this movie is a plus because my wife loves Aladdin and has been waiting for this Diamon Edition for a couple of years now.

Most people contemplating a purchase of this blu ray are probably already familiar with Aladdin. It's classic Disney animation from the early 90s, done using hand-drawn animation, with some computer animation enhancements from the team at Pixar. If you have the previous DVD release, I feel that this blu ray upgrade is certainly worth it, as the picture and sound benefit greatly from the newer format. The new bonus features on the disc are entertaining enough, though certainly not as in-depth as you'll find on some other movies. But in this case, the movie itself is the real star of the disc, and in that regard, you can't go wrong with this purchase.

I will not review the movie, but will make a comment on why the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray is better than watching the movie on a streaming service. The Blu-ray uses lower compression and a Wide Color Gamut (WCG). HD TV was designed in the 90s for CRT TVs and uses a limited color gamut. Movie theaters display movies that were recorded using the DCI-P3 color space (WCG). If you own a 4K TV that can display the DCI-P3 color space you will see a notable difference. This is a movie where the difference really stands out.

Another beautiful 4K presentation of an animated classic from Disney, although for the first time I found the steelbook artwork rudimentary at best.

This amazing steelbook features the best artwork for any home media release of Aladdin since the original VHS release in 1993. The new bonus features created for the Signature Collection release are substantial and informative, even for people who already know a lot about the making of the film from other sources. If you're a fan, the "Aladdin On Aladdin" feature is worth the price by itself. The standard release features all of the same material if you missed out on the steelbook.

This is the first release of Disney's Aladdin on Blu-ray. The picture and sound quality are excellent, and a step up from the Platinum edition DVD. The DVD packaging and inserts are better. Disney has really cheaped out on the Blu-ray Diamond-series releases as compared to the DVD Platinum releases. All the DVDs had nice inserts describing the contents of the discs, but the blu-rays have none of this. All the old Platinum DVD extras are included on this Blu-ray, along with a couple new extras exclusive to this Blu-ray. The Blu-ray package includes a DVD of the film and a digital download, so you really can't go wrong. It's an excellent film.

Aladdin in 1080p + Digital Copy. I actually still prefer 1080p over 4K, so this was the right choice for me. But no Digital Copy that's lame!

A Disney Classic! Love Aladdin. The quality of this film is excellent. The color is vibrant. This movie makes you miss Robin Williams and appreciate his comedy. He plays the role of Genie and when he breaks into impersonating some of Hollywood's great actors, it is classic. The music makes you want to sing along. The audience flies along with Aladdin and Jasmine on their magic carpet ride. It makes you wish Disney offered in a 3D version...

What else is there to say, it was a great Disney movie with a stellar Robin Williams performance. Too bad there were issues between Williams and Disney that caused him to keep them from using any additional content. However, there was a nice tribute to Williams on this this edition, well worth watching. The film itself stands the test of time and the blu-ray edition increases the video and audio quality to superb levels. Well worth a purchase (especially on sale) and a very happy addition to the movie library.

This is a beautifully packaged Diamond Edition of Aladdin and it's the first time it is on Blu-ray Disc. This film is an animation masterpiece with the genius of comedy, Robin Williams, giving great laughs as the Genie. The only negative thing I will say is that this edition, while it lists lenticular packaging, is simply the regular Diamond Edition and the lenticular part is only on the slipcover. The slipcover is not the same as the actual DVD cover. It is still a very nice collector's edition of the film.

The 4K remaster of this film is remarkable. The color was incredible and stunning. Not only the audio comes alive, the effects are more pronounced. Obviously the Steelbook made it an instant collector's item. The new bonus material was very entertaining. How can one forget the zany performance of Robin Williams which really brought this animation to live! This is a MUST HAVE in your collection.
