Nice classic. Wish they would have had the original cover though for the anniversary...

Picture quality is not very good, considering 4K upgrade . Sound quality is good.

Classic brought back in 4K. The movie is fantastic as it is so you have watched it then you know what I am referring to. If you have not then do not cheat yourself out watch it at least once. Its one of those movies that will hold its own in almost any era. Now the 4k version was significantly improved from the original. Its a shame that the visuals we have today were not around back then. Having said that there is only so much they can do.

Old classic,but nice director cut scene I never seen before make you understand a lot

This is a pretty good blu-ray remaster. Some remasters really aren't very good (or they just show the movies age, and make the special effects in the movie lose their illusion), but this movie was remastered fairly well. The enhanced fidelity doesn't poke any holes in the film, and it really highlights how well they designed their sets and special effects. This edition includes both the original cut of the film, and the slightly more controversial director's cut—which is a nice bonus, but the original cut is definitely better.

The 4K transfer is a beautiful transfer of a sci-fi classic Highly recommended

Look, it's Alien... in 4K. What more do you want? This movie is every bit as amazing as it was when it was released. The tension, the fear, the exasperation. It is all there, except now it is in glorious 4K HDR. The sound, sadly, has not been upgraded, and uses the same DTS:HD 5.1 that was used in previous Blu-Ray release. It's not bad, but it would sound amazing in DTS:X or Dolby Atmos. Still, Alien in 4K. 'nuff said.

Just when I thought I'd never need to buy another copy of Alien, this came along and yes, it is THAT noticeably better. This is about as perfect a UHD image as I've seen and it's what sold me on the format. Shadow detail is insane here, and it's the absolute key to this particular movie's presentation.

Alien is a film that requires little introduction although, in the event that you haven't seen it, know that you're in for one heck of a ride that won't easily be forgotten. Taking the science fiction genre into the realm of pure horror, Alien truly impresses on every level imaginable, whether that be visually, sonically or thematically. This particular blu-ray release showcases the film looking better than it ever has and, as such, comes recommended most highly without hesitation.

What is there to say? This movie is a classic! But you are probably here to see if the 4K quality is any good, and it’s a solid YES! Is it as good as “The Thing” 4K quality, no, but it’s pretty close! An enjoyable experience and it contains both the theatrical and the extended cut. Enjoy!

Worth the buy. Visually amazing honestly. If you’re an alien fan. Pick it up!

Great detail in dark scenes. HDR not that impressive but excellent detail

this was an older movie that looked amazing on bluray being almost 40 yrs old

I thought this movie could not get any better than Blu-ray. Was I wrong. This movie on 4k is a completely different viewing experience. It was as if I was watching it for the first time. 4k shows the detail of the costumes, sets and models. Everything is in focus and watching it on an OLED screen enhances all of the colors. I would highly recommend this movie on 4k.

There isn't much to say about the movie Alien as it is a classic and redefined the horror sci fi genre at its time. What I can comment on though is that the transfer is incredible with its picture quality. If you have a quality UHD TV and a UHD Blu-ray player, you owe it to yourself to add this to your collection if you're a fan.
