Looks real good, a classic movie for all time, recommend

Now... here it is.... lots of detail improvement but not perfection... hard to describe... just not quite ready to throw away my blu-rays.. and this was cheap at sale.. I would of course recommend for an upgrade... I can tell differences in Direct cut scenes that I don't remember noticing on blu-ray.... but still this still is one of the a best horror sci. fi. films ever made... and still looks purty nice... now if Disney would just hurry up (but take time to do it right) on the other 4K they're working on.. Aliens.. Alien 3... Alien Resurrection...

Always enjoyed this movie and it looks great on Blu Ray.

While the improvements in Fox's excellent 4K remaster of Alien is a little more subtle than most native 4K transfers I've seen, it does provide a very nice upgrade. While the director's cut is spliced together with some non-native 4K footage, I prefer to watch the theatrical cut anyway. Always loved this classic and it's wonderful to have a high quality 4K release.

In space no one can hear you scream yet in best buy people heard me scream when I saw this blu ray for only 4.99, I did not even plan on buying it, I was there for something completely different. This is a Ridley Scott masterpiece that is the perfect blend of sci fi and horror. The one that started it all and after 36 going on 37 years still works, is a must own. The blu ray looks great, you get the directors cut and some great features.

A classic movie updated to 4K makes for a great time!

Great 4k movie but the presentation was a little bland.

My favorite horror film of all time! In my opinion, Alien as a film has aged beautifully and is still scary to this day. I remember being terrified of this film as a child (particularly the xenomorph), and to be honest, that fear has never fully left. Which just shows how great of a horror film this truly is!

This is how I want to see Alien! The picture is amazing keeping the film grain intact with 4K resolution, however, the HDR makes this the best experience I’ve had watching this film outside of a theater. All the dark scenes have detail in them and the bright white scenes don’t feel washed out. Really a well balance picture.

Picture looks brighter!! Nice to watch in crisp 4K

I was shocked at how good this film looks in 4K. I grew up on the VHS and I've seen previous releases on DVD and blu-ray. Nothing prepared me for the clarity and beauty of this film in the new format. The steelbook is gorgeous and the price was incredible. Includes 4K digital code that redeems in 4K at Movies Anywhere.

Alien, Aliens, and actually Prometheus are my favs in these collection, but I couldn't find Alien on it's own for the longest time, only in a larger collection. I already had Aliens and Prometheus and am not a fan of Alien 3 and 4 so wasn't interested in spending more for the package. With the new Alien Covenant coming out I found the individual copy of Alien at Best Buy I was looking for as part of a promotion.

When I saw that this movie was available in a 4K steelbook at such a great price I did not hesitate to add it to my collection. Gorgeous-looking steelbook, amazing 4K restoration as well as a phenomenal soundtrack makes this a sure winner in my book. I highly recommend anybody who likes this movie to go out and purchase this as soon as possible

Good HD transfer in 4K of a classic! Need more films like this. More focus on tension and good story with believable special effects. Too much over the top cgi in films today. Looks too ridiculous. Reason why I keep going back to these type of movies.

This is the one that started the sci-fi thriller genre and it stay amazing after all these years. The gritty, lived-in look influenced many sci-fi staples of our time and gives a authentic appearance to the account of the crew members trying to survive an alien encounter. My only problem with this anniversary edition is that it is the same exact Blu-Ray you can get for $10 but dressed up with a little comic book and some art cards.

As soon as I saw this was available in 4k ultra I knew I had to get it, one of my favorite all time films and I am very happy I did, it looks amazing in 4k and did enjoyed the director’s cut also big plus it comes with digital copy:

I watched the unmastered version a few months ago at a friend's place and fell in love with the movie. It was my first time watching and for the time it was made the effects are really spot on. The action was tight, some things were a bit predictable but when you've seem a lot of movies, let alone sci-fi and horror, you can kind of know certain things by the set up. A must for sci-fi lovers out there you won't regret it.

Ridley Scott is a directing genius when it comes to film. However, Alien will forever be his masterpiece. Quite possibly the best Horror film ever released, Alien set up the franchise for ultimate success that still holds true to today. If you've never seen this movie, it is a classic that can not be passed up. While Aliens was more of an action and suspense movie, Alien keeps you at the edge of yours seat in true Horror movie fashion.

Hopefully you've seen Alien by now - it's a masterwork of filmmaking in using cinematic tools to create tension, drama, and horror. This is a 4K disc that does it's material justice. Beautifully rendered and full of film grain, this is an excellent release and a must buy for anyone set up to enjoy it.
