*This Review Contains Some Spoilers* Read at your own risk Most people who I talked to about this movie were not big fans. It seems like most people don’t like when reboots are too close or too far away from the original films. In the case of covenant most would say that Ridley Scott went too far off course from the originals. I disagree. I very much enjoyed the philosophical approach that Ridley Scott went for with this follow up to Prometheus. The reason that I did not give the movie 5 stars was for two reasons. 1 it is just a little too far fetched that the Covenant would redirect off the intended course. Second, I thought the movie could have spent some time exploring and giving closure to Elizabeth Shaw. Otherwise a good movie that I would recommend watching.

Alien and Aliens are two of my favorite movies of all time and are widely proclaimed to be two of the greatest films in history. But as we all know, the follow ups over the last couple of decades have largely been disappointments. Alien Covenant did not disappoint. This film connects the prequel, Prometheus, with Alien and I think it does a good job. Some reviewers wanted more Prometheus story here, but I honestly don't know that there's a lot to tell there and I like the way this film got to the point and what we are all here to see, the Xenomorph creature. I felt this was a good thrill ride and has moments as memorable as some of the best we've seen in these films. Plus Michael Fassbender is excellent. I would rank this film third best in the franchise overall behind Alien and Aliens. As for the product, it has amazing art on the front of the steelbook and I love the minimalism present on the covers. And this is an extremely good price at this point in Aug. 2017 for a 4K steelbook as most others cost far more than this one at $26.99. This is a good buy and definitely recommended.

I understand the need to still cash in on the alien franchise and keeping the prequels to Alien going, but this seems like the same sort of overdone story. It’s a good for what it is, just wish the franchise would offer up something a bit more fresh.

The 4k picture quality this film has is amazing. Would definitely recommend viewing in UHD.

This was a cool Aliens film. I hope they continue.

If your a fan of the series then this is a must have.
