Solid return to sci fi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After watching the previous installment, Prometheus, I was a little skeptical over Ridley Scott's new installment. But overall, I was very pleased. Just like every film in the Alien series, Covenenant is stunning to look at. Excellent cinematography, fantastic creature and gore effects, and dark oppressive set pieces all work well to establish the film visually. Solid performances from the actors, especially from Michael Fassbender. Although, not all of the plot points from Prometheus are carried over very well. It's still a solid movie, and an effective return to form.

Alien: Covenant
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, you have to see Prometheus(2012) beforehand. David's plot line is pretty confusing audiences with Walter's one. Audiences can not say which one is David or Walter. This is the biggest issue of this film positively and negatively. In the 21st. century, the good is weaker than evil like in this film. The story starts when the new captain takes initiative to distract the planned course of a colonial voyage. They are forced to go to an unknown planet where evil David and his creatures are waiting for the victims.

Worst of all the movies in the series.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love the whole series as well as Michael Fassbender, however I have little appreciation for Covenant other than it is part of a story line I'm already invested in.

A movie that fit nice in the Alien saga.....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alien Covenant seems to fit nicely in the reboot of the Alien saga starting over with Prometheus. Just a lot more victims involved this time and a return of the "bad" robot causing most of the trouble. The sets for the ship is outstanding, and the place they filmed the exteriors was extremely otherworldly. What's nice, and I hope I am not giving anything away, is that it is open for a followup movie to add on to the whole story!!! Our fav monster buddys are all involved. So let's get ready for maybe a whole new set of movies stemming from these 2.

Alien Franchise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you grew up watching Alien and Aliens, then you will love to see the origins in this new trilogy that date prior before the original franchise began! Ridley Scott is amazing, and I wouldn't doubt his ideas and inspirations! He will forever be the director that put countless movies on the map that are now coming back in sequels or prequels! The action, casting, and storyboard are great! I'm happy to see the movie shows you different possibilities and remains unpredictable. If you want prediction, watch any of the fast and furious movies.

Another Alien movie kind of the same same
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you can't get enough of the Alien movies, this is another one of the creature popping out of people's bodies and getting killed by Aliens type of a movie.

"Alien" goes back to it's roots (sort of)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a huge admirer of Ridley Scott's filmmaking from "Blade Runner" to "The Martian", and I was excited for this movie, as an "Alien" fan, and because I'm one of the few people who liked "Prometheus". I enjoy this movie very much, it's thrilling at times, it's beautifully shot, has great performances, and the score is a really cool throwback to Jerry Goldsmith's original cues, but it does drag in the middle, and the script is a bit sloppily put together. But overall it's a fun movie, and the Blu-ray quality is top-notch.

GOOD AT THE THEATER, BUT AT HOME NOT SO MUCH
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Viewing experiencing at theater way stronger than at home. It's usually the opposite, in my home theater, (8 foot screen), that I discover the true worth of a film when viewing at home. But, this version of Alien, seemed predictible and not all that interesting when I viewed it at home. I usually find little gems of the plot I missed when at the theater, viewing for the first time, when revisiting the movie at home. Not this one. It lost ground once viewed at home. Unexpected & unfortunate really, but there it is.

Really good!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The blu-ray disc is excellent, producing both high-quality images and sound. The movie's itself is much better than reviews would indicate. It is solid and well-paced. I want more of the mystery and back story explained or at lease exposed than this movie provides, especially in consideration of the plot of Prometheus. The color-palette matches Prometheus, but comes off as more of a copy than original. The alien ships and setting designs are very nice extensions of the original movie and Prometheus.

Suspenseful, intriguing, but in a different way
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You have to go into this movie not expecting the same experience that you get with Alien or Aliens. I recommend you watch Prometheus first before this one to get the sense of what is happening. We have here is an origin story to one of the most frightening creatures in Sci-Fi. Because of this we have a schism within the Alien fan base. I would say to keep an open mind about the movie and it’s prequel. This movie reintroduces the Xenomorph beloved in alien movies, but at far less screen time than die hard fans would like. I love the movie for diving into the lore but I can’t say the next nerd will feel the same way. Watch it with an open mind and expect a new experience.

Surprisingly really good!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this movie to buy my first 4K blueray. To see what’s the big deal about 4K. And aside of looking great on my new tv, the movie was surprisingly good. No spoilers but the story was pretty cool! And makes the old movies sorta connect to the new one and give it an orgin story that makes sense. And it wasn’t cheesy about it! I would have given it 5 stars but the movie didn’t come with any making of or more background story. I guess I wanted more content. But other then that, great movie.

More details given
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After watching Prometheus again during the lockdown, I wanted to know how the sequel turned out. I checked Best Buy and they had/have it on sale for a great price. Answered a lot of questions about the storyline. I read that they were making another in the series to explain what happens after Covenant, but that may be up in the air since the world changed. I'd like to see it, but until then, I might watch Prometheus/Covenant again.

Passable sequel to Cov.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately this series is getting a little long in the tooth, an ok story I just wish more practical effects were used. Worth it for 7-10 bucks.

Ok movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s an OK movie the special effect is good but the story plot revolving around an AI is ridiculous that took points away from the movie

Solid sci-fi/action!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dueling Michael Fassbender androids could be a movie unto itself. Throw in the threat of conspiracy, new & exotic strains of our favorite long-headed alien & a mad scientist plot and you've got quite an entertaining flick! This entry in the series doesn't beat out previous entries (in my book), but was great fun start to finish. Ridley Scott is developing his own mini-universe within the established ALIEN realm that his original film began & it's not a bad thing!

A Good Movie About Aliens...Or Is It?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Basically, this works to give us something a bit better than what Prometheus did for the Alien series. Does it succeed? To put it lightly, yes. It manages to keep the formula of space horror going in many ways, harkening here and there to prior installments. Yet it is just another good (not great) entry into the series as a whole. I am willing to treat it as a step in the right direction from Prometheus if it gets the Alien series back to quality.
