The return of Ridley (Scott) makes this one gut-wrenching and spectacular sequel to his way under-rated Prometheus, and, of course the best Alien of all, the original! No need for more expensive 4K disc as this BD does it all, from a perfect picture to sizzling sound experience. Don't stream it (ugh!) BUY this even cheaper than streaming...hardware always looks and sounds so much better.

This steelbook is great the movie not so much but for the cheap price it's worth it.

The HDR of the 4K disc really shines, and impressive audio. The film istelf has the uphill battle of being connected to Promentheus while also trying to bring us back to more familiar "Alien" territory. Michael Fassbender makes the film worthwhile. Maybe enough is enough with Alien, but this was entertaining enough.

This is a point that many will disagree with. I'd rate this as the best Alien film to date. It's directed by the first Alien director Ridley Scott. The initial Alien film was exception. It was also the first of its kind. That, to me, is the primary reason so many view it as the best. Alien Covenant doesn't have the luxury of being the first or the second or the third. It still manages to keep you enthralled from beginning to end and the acting and effects are better than the first.

First off Scott is not a writer and it shows in all the movies he has made. This movie is no exception, and that hits this movies story issues right on the head, because apparently Scott is the guiding hand behind the screenplay. The original truly has an out of this world conception with imagery that is straight of of someones nightmares. But this story is nothing more then a predictable and boring rehash of every sic-fi cliche there is, right down to the mad scientist creating life. The movie should really be called DAVID, because the only thing AlIEN about it is that they are still milking the original H.R. Giger design. The 4k disc has excellent image and sound, if you are a sic-fi fan you will get a kick out of this first class production to bad the screenplay is below B-grade standards.

The alien storyline got so convoluted after the last movie debuted. We introduced a ton of new elements that didn't made any sense with the original trilogy. This one goes even further down the rabbit hole that is the Alien franchise now. It works well for standalone Science fiction movie though.

This is a return to form for what you expect out of a traditional Alien franchise movie. All the visual spectacle, dread and action is here. If you liked Prometheus you may not like some of the directions they took with this story, but I think it’s a solid correction on the previous film’s wishy-washy convoluted mess of a plot. Certainly better writing.

The cgi/effects/cinematography look outstanding watching this blu ray on my 4k tv. I noticed a couple newer Marvel movies don't look as good, and think of the money on those productions. I also think this is a very respectable entry into the Alien canon, even if it's technically a prequel.

Hey, I love Ridley Scott and this is as beautiful a movie as you'd expect from him. He does a fair job cleaning up some dangling plot threads from Prometheus but misses some as well as creates a few new ones. However, for eye candy alone this one is worth owning if you're a film buff. And let's hear it for the cool Steelbook case!

I really liked this movie but found that I needed to go back and watch the earlier alien movie (Prometheus) again then watched this version again. I thought the actors were good and this movie is good addition to the Alien franchise.

As far as the movie plot goes, it does help answer the annoying questions left behind by it predecessor, but then leaves you with more questions at the end. It is horrifying? at times yes. But if you are a fan of the original Alien, you may be somewhat disappointed. One hopes the Scott's third film does the final bridge to link all of this together

Movie itself should have been a little bit better but can't deny how beautiful the cinematography looks on this movie and the intensity it created when the facehugger and the Alien finally took center stage. David is as ruthless and unpredictable but the Neomorphs were a nice surprise! Definitely worth watching but the Steelbook is gorgeous!

Its wasn't as good as the other alien movies. I like the other movies better.

This film is definitely an interesting watch - I missed in the theater - but purchased the 4K Blu-ray - the look of the film is great, the story isn't exactly what I expected as what was set up in Prometheus didn't resolve itself exactly as I would have expected - especially with the fate of David and Dr Shaw - and how the Aliens came to be.

I was hesitant about getting this movie, because of some of the reviews. I'm glad I got it. You have to watch Prometheus first to completely understand the movie plot. IMO it is a ver good movie. 4K picture is excellent. Dolby Atmos mix could've been a little better. Failed to exploit the object base Atmos capability. Still very good sound.

There seems to be no end to amount of mileage Hollywood can get from the Alien franchise, but this installment seems even darker and more sinister the others. Familiar script and character types make it recognizable, but it stands on its own even if you haven't seen the earlier films. Great sound track and special effects!

Love the Alien series of movies including Prometheus. I had really high hopes for it when it came to the theater. It was ok, but could've been better. The 4K release of it looks pretty good. I've seen worse and better 4K releases in terms of Video quality. The Audio on this is really good if you can take advantage of the Dolby Atmos

Alien covenant is a pretty decent movie. It lines up nicely with Prometheus.

No better that its predecessor "Prometheus", good action scenes, great effects, but I think that something is missing or inconclusive...I hate the fact about that suspense at the end that basically is telling you that another chapter is coming, sort of inconclusive. I will say that I recommend it if you are a movie collector.

I don't understand the criticisms, people wanted more aliens and they got them with some swell action. You have to watch these new movies as if you don't already know all the information from the previous releases or you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Treat it as a reboot or standalone and you will not be disappointed.
