Alien: Covenant is much better than I thought it would be. The trailer looked entertaining, but you just can't really use that as an accurate gauge of how good a movie will actually be these days. For the most part, the MESS that was PROMETHEUS is all but ignored in Covenant, and that's a good thing.

It picks up well right after Prometheus. Left off. If fills in some gaps, but greats other hence no 5 stars. If sets up for a great remake of the original Laiens. It's work owning if you have the Alien collection like I do. The cinematography is great, the items seem like they want to jump off the screen.

I did like this movie, even though the characters can always have better judgement when dealing with odd/foreign/strange encounters (those artificial beings are always causing trouble of some sort). Picture quality was excellent, helps to have a TV that that can display good contrast & brightness.

Glad they're keeping this movie series alive but it's more about the robot now than the aliens. The aliens are cool but the timeline of their growth is unrealistic ( I know it's a sci-fi movie stop being so real about it ) but come on how does it fully grow in like 5 minutes. Overall very entertaining.

I was really not expecting much from this movie after some other reviews I read but I enjoyed it. It is not as good as the original two movies but better than the 3rd and 4th. We get more insight into David and his role in the whole saga. Just don't over-think it. It's still mostly a monster movie.

Movie was ok hope they make a third one to wrap it up

I am a long time Alien movie fan. This film is finally good enough to stand next to the original Alien/Aliens movie. I think this was Ridley Scott's way of apologizing for "Prometheus" There were a lot of audio tie ins to the original film with similar pacing. Character development could be a little better. Special effects were fantastic. I would highly recommend this to friends and family

As far as story goes, you may need to see Prometheus to understand. Otherwise a good movie with that old alien movie suspense. Although I do wish they would have shown the xenomorph some more, the overall movie was alright. Hopefully we see more xenomorph action in future sequels if any.

Overall incredible film from the master himself, Ridley Scott! A great follow up to the nearly perfect Prometheus that continues to bridge the "gap" from this to the original Alien. The 4K transfer is gorgeous.

Good movie quality is great And got it for a bargain

The movie starts out really strong, but it loses some of its appeal in the latter half, mainly because it posits lofty philosophical questions without really making much of an attempt to answer or explore them. Actually, I think the film would have been better without them, because the last hour is not so much about the meaning of life but more a graphic gorefest which fetishizes the myriad of brutal ways it can be extinguished. Of course, one would expect something of the sort in the horror genre, so in that respect, along with some good acting and cinematography, I think the film works as a credible prequel to the original Alien.

A lot of people have negative things to say on this film and I can get why. It completely changes the alien mythos by shedding light on where the beast comes from. Open your mind and go into this fresh. You'll find a well acted, beautifully shot, and haunting soundtrack of a film. My only complaint is them painting over the amazing practical effects with very bland cg for the creatures.

Another great addition to the long-running Alien movie productions. This, the latest installment, takes place out on a far away planet that wasn't even on the crew's radar until they found it by accident. The rest of the story unfolds after they land there and start making strange discoveries. A must have for your collection.

Alien Covenant is a very well made movie taking place before the original 1979 Alien. This copy comes both on blueray and dvd. The blueray comes with a bunch of extra goodies for more enjoyment, deleted scenes, commentary and interview with director Ridley Scott and more.

I love anything and everything Alien! They could make a movie about an Alien fighting a Predator and I'd watch it! Oh wait, they did that, and it was awesome!!! Seriously, after Prometheus, I was expecting something totally different to be going down in Covenant but wow I surprised! Oh and the missing 20+ minutes that didn't make it into the theater are on this release :)

Some Alien movies are campy, but who cares! They are all great and this one is one of the best! David is back again and up to his crazy android antics and without going into spoiler territory, if you liked David in Prometheus, you'll love him in Covenant. A visually stunning movie with a story that's complete, but you want more of. Watch this one immediately if you haven't already!

I loved Prometheus so I was excited to see this movie, I definitely didn’t think it was as good as Prometheus. My son loved it however. I thought they tried too hard to back track on explaining the history/relevance of Prometheus but didn’t do as well to integrate the new plot in.

The movie does a nice job explaining the back story of the Aliens we know from the orginal series. I'm just not sure if I like and maybe it was better left to the imagination on where they came from or why they were created. But if you love all things Alien, you will enjoy this movie.

Make sure you watch Prometheus before you see this film, but don't expect a film with the same tone - this movie is more of a monster hunt movie where you are left guessing who will die next. The 4K HDR disc was great - I wish Ridley Scott had filmed it in 3D, but the budget for this was lower than Prometheus before it. Hopefully the next film in the Aliens franchise comes soon.

This movie is meant for fans of the Alien series. Takes a few queues from the original Alien movie. This is also a definite improvement over Prometheus. Another great steelbook from Best Buy for collectors. 4K improves on the whites and contrast of the film offering brighter colors.
