loved Aliens movies. some may not measure up to the original, but its a collection must have.

As a human male who wasn't born until 1987, the year after James Cameron's seven-year-later sequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 masterpiece debuted, I was never overly inclined to invest much of my adolescence in Xenomophs or the lore of the talented Ms. Ripley. As someone who would unknowingly be lumped in with the millennial generation I didn't grow up with a fondness for those original films and thus they never became a critical part of the cultural landscape for me until much later in life. It might even be difficult for viewers with older tastes and dated perspectives to understand how such a film as restrained and measured as Alien might play for today's ADD audiences, but despite the fact I didn't end up seeing Scott's original film until a college screenwriting class doesn't mean I didn't understand the how and why of its effectiveness. Still, because of the life experiences that shaped who I was up until the point when I saw Prometheus in the summer of 2012 I didn't mind that it felt completely different from what Scott had established as his Alien universe in the past. Like with music and most things in life if something works and people crave more of it the artist must find a way to strike a balance between what has come before while also reinventing themselves so as not to repeat the same old shtick over and over again. While many complained about Prometheus for being too heady and not so reliant on thrills or action Scott, along with screenwriters John Logan and Dante Harper, have seemingly course corrected for the sake of the fans with Alien: Covenant as the film more or less meshes what Prometheus started and what fans seemingly wanted in a new Alien movie. That isn't to say it all melds seamlessly or that Covenant is all the better for attempting to strike such a balance, but rather that it wants to have its cake and eat it too. As an individual who has no vested interest in continuing the Alien franchise as it once was, but who really dug Prometheus, I was slightly disappointed the more philosophical aspects of the film were traded in for more formulaic action beats and scares, but while Covenant may be a safer movie than Prometheus as well as a less effective film than Alien it is still very much an entertaining one that does enough good to earn its place among the ranks of a series that seems to be more well regarded out of nostalgia and a couple strong entries than a consistent quality in the films overall.

Good movie but better looking steelbook. I have the original and had to have this one in 4k.

I have the regular 4K disc but when I saw this artwork I had to have it. Same disc as the other release. Good for those who like to collect steelbooks.

I recently started my steelbook collection and this is one I enjoy. Would recommend.

huge fan of the alien series and this one did not disapoint in my opinion michael fasbender is such a great actor and carries this movie

this is part of the alien series, but its part 2 to promethius, so its a prequel to alien

Actually not bad. I had to watch it several times before deciding to buy the 4K version.

This is a reasonably good follow-up to Prometheus but still not as good as Alien and Aliens.

Good Horror/Alien Flick! Hard to compare to original Alien Movies but still did a good job!

Even with some of it flaws Covenant is a good film to follow up Prometheus. Its at a good price for it being in 4K and in a Steel Book.

Could little movie for the alien franchise but could have been a lot better in my opinion

My wife watches this movie all the times. She loves all of the alien movies and we recommend giving this one a go if you haven’t yet

Another good movie to add to the franchise collection. True fans will not be disappointed.

The 4K Steelbook is really nice although I feel they could have chosen better artwork. At the very least, I would have swapped the back cover artwork (xenomorph head) with the front cover artwork (neomorph baby). The blu ray and 4K picture and sound quality is excellent. As for the movie itself, it really baffles me how much negativity some Alien fans express towards it. To me, Alien: Covenant is one of my favorite films of the year and ranks in my top 3 Alien films of all time. It's the best film in the franchise since James Cameron's Aliens in 1986. I really enjoyed Prometheus and the more philosophical themes it explored along with the Engineers so I was really happy to see director Ridley Scott return to the Alien franchise again with Covenant. To me, Covenant is the perfect blend between, Prometheus, the original Alien, and Aliens while also feeling like a modern film and giving us the best-looking alien creature designs and scenes yet. I feel that those who disliked it just wanted a straight-up rehash of Aliens and never even gave this movie a chance based on its own merits. The story is nostalgic yet fresh, the cinematography and directing is stunning, the soundtrack by Jed Kurzel is eerie and atmospheric, and the movie is a dark and entertaining sci-fi horror film worthy of the Alien franchise. What I love about Covenant is all the risks this film takes. This 4K set gets my highest recommendation!

A nice BB Steelbook exclusive for another great sci-fi film in the great Alien franchises

I loved this movie and in high def made it even more awesome!!! Movie is such a great addition to the “Alien” family and continues the story.

A nice addition to the Alien franchise. My son loved it so much, that when the dog bit into the isks, I had to buy the movie a second time.
