Lo and behold, the screen has a crack. That apart from the fact that I'm pretty sure I received an "open-box" item because the documents looked like they were already opened. So, now to spend precious time jumping through hoops to get a full refund. I am so disappointed at BestBuy and the whole Alienware brand right now...

Unfortunately, both Alienware's hardware and customer service left me VERY disappointed. Brand new out of the box, one of the USB 3.0 ports didn't function properly (very necessary for VR-ready machine). Alienware sent out an independent tech, replaced the I/O board, then it stopped working again shortly after the tech left my house. Additionally, the top left corner of the keyboard was very loose and buttons didn't work properly. Then the screen completely freaked out displaying random pink and green rectangles. After a couple more unsatisfying chats (phone and online) with Dell customer service, it was obvious this machine wasn't worth keeping. Overall, just a very disappointing computer. While exchanging for an equivalent MSI gaming laptop (which is much better quality), two customer service reps (one sales, one manager) mentioned they have received several returns of this exact machine and were also disappointed with Alienware's quality. The slightly more expensive MSI was a much better option.
