worked great for few months then battery died and computer crashed to screen of death during covid, when everything was closed and repairs were unavailable.

Great computer for the most part but then the Graphics card burned out turns out it was a problems with a lot of dells computers for this model so it was replaced bt other than that everything was good

Have decided to give Alienware a second try and ended up returning my Razer Blade 15 to buy the Alienware m17. This laptop has a few flaws but it’s still very well made and produced. Pros: Excellent build quality - I can pretty much put a dent in a tank with this laptop if I really tried! It is built extremely well and feels rigid. Great Performance - It can pretty much run anything I throw at it. Fortnite, Rocket League, Etc... runs like a charm! Cooler Temperature- No issues with overheating like with previous Alienware models. Good Speakers - Even though placed on the bottom, they still don’t loose their sound. Would recommend wearing headphones while gaming though. Cons: Battery - If I am lucky, I will get just above 3 and a half hours but it often fluctuates time when below 50%. Screen - Even though the colors are good for my taste. I still don’t like the fact it is a 60hz display on a gaming laptop! Especially at this price point. Manufactures like Asus and Msi are putting high refresh rate screens that are better for fast pace games. Slow For First Time Use - When first turning on this laptop and setting it up, it felt like it took forever to load even with an SSD! This was fixed however, by updating and using the laptop more. Activation - Had issues activating windows out of the box. Apart for these few issues. I would still recommend this laptop to anyone who wants to play casual games and do some video editing or other production tasks. I will still however, like to worn potential buyers of some side affects that come with this computer. Thanks for reading my review!

Returned it in less than a week, graphics would switch mid game

This computer is not worth the money. We had to return it the next day because we had problems with it. The fan inside this Lap Top is made of plastic. The fan over heats and melts.

This laptop has been nothing but a pain since I got it and I should have returned it the next day. It was an open-box and Geek Squad certified to work properly but I don't believe it. Everyday it is a struggle just to get it to power up. Now it won't even work and it will cost more than it's worth to get it fixed probably. NEVER GET AN OPEN BOX ITEM FROM BEST BUY!!

Laptop is great but if you are purchasing to able to play Halo Master Chief collection or Modern Warfare 2 Modern Warfare 3 or Black Ops 1 this computer will not run Max settings very poor graphics for those games it can only run on minimum settings the same for Halo Master Chief collection do not buy this laptop if you are buying for that reason but it does work well for or older games

This computer is pretty awesome. It’s got powerful specs that can run most of the latest games at high or better graphic settings. It’s great to have it on the go, although it’s a little heavy, but that’s the trade for a bigger screen. I keep my games on the SSD for fast load times. If name brands are important to you, then go ahead and grab this, but with Alienware you definitely pay a little extra to have their name on it. You can probably find the same specs for less money! If you love Alienware though, this laptop will not disappoint.

It is a small footprint 17” notebook. The new design is smooth and rounded. Very light and thin. And as usual the cosmetic design and engineering look good on the outside and pleasing to the eye. The shiny black plastic around the screen starts to make it look like a cheap laptop. I am not sure how they can release in this day and time a machine this expensive with a 60hz lcd. The standard right is 120/144 for a “gaming” notebook. Normal use (web surfing and normal daily task) it performs great. Call of duty 2 runs great! However that fame came out on 2004. Things quickly take a turn for the worse when you play new AAA titles such as BF V and BF4. The cpu temps consistently runs 95-100c causing some throttling. The gpu temps get up to 85-86c. The SSD is getting up to 85-90c. This will cause the ssd to throttle its speed drastically and reduce the life of the drive quickly. Even with a -120 under volt it still hits there temps and the PCH tempmis through the roof as well. This is a short review and quick overlook. I could go on with cons and pros. Overall as a daily driver it would be a good machine. As a daily gaming device I think you should look at other options. Something with better thermal design all around for the cpu/gpu/ssd.
