Posted .Dear Valued Customer,
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your review. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing overheating and slow performance issues with your Alienware Aurora R13 gaming computer. Feedback like yours helps us improve our current and future products.
Below I have provided troubleshooting instructions with the full article that can help resolve overheating issues:
1. Update the system BIOS.
2. Make sure the system is in a well-ventilated area.
3. Use laptops on flat surfaces to improve airflow. Hard table tops are recommended and avoid using any type of cloth or any other soft material under the laptop.
4. For desktop systems make sure there is enough clearance around the system to allow the air to flow. If the system is in an enclosure try to move it to a more ventilated area for testing.
5. Check that the air vents are clean and that there is nothing obstructing them.
6. You can reset your BIOS settings to undo any changes that could be causing the system to overheat.
7. Disable NVIDIA G SYNC and run a stress test using SupportAssist.
8. Navigate to the Thermal Controls in the Alienware Command Center, which is found under the Fusion tab. There you can adjust the thermal control of system fans and change the status of active venting. This link is for the Alienware Command Center Quick Guide, where you can find a video to explain how to use the Manual Mode for the Thermal Controls: https://dell.to/3nZtYDm.
Alienware System Overheats or Shuts Down: https://dell.to/3nmRfiZ
To help troubleshoot slow performance, please follow these steps:
1. Run the automated tools in SupportAssist to ensure that the drivers are up to date and your computer is optimized.
2. Restart the computer
3. Run a hardware diagnostic test
4. Scan your computer for malware
5. Restore the computer using Windows System Restore
6. Restore the computer to factory default settings

Wireless issue right out of the box
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer had an issue right out of the box. You have to go through a set up process before Windows even loads where it checks your wireless connections and you can go online. Initially it found my router and I entered the password, but then unexplainedly it went through the procedure again. This time, however it couldnt find any wireless connections. This is a problem because if you don't connect on this screen, you are stuck and cannot advance or go to Windows. Tech support could not fix the problem. For a $2,000 computer this is not acceptable.

SCAM. Stay Away from Alienware/DELL
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Want to know how an Alienware (or any Dell) is built? Take any generic Dell/HP garbage tier, dirt cheap chassis from the 1990s, and strap a giant piece of plastic to it. So much for “environmentally friendly initiatives”, Dell. How is a propreitary motherboard/case AND power supply (you get with Alienware) good for the environment? These probably go in the dumpster when something breaks because the avg user wont want to spend hundreds at a minimum for a propreitary OEM replacement. With DELL/Alienware, youre effectively paying for an i7/i9/DDR5, yet you will get i5/i7/DDR4 performance (down a tier from which you paid) and a 120mm AIO WILL thermal throttle on anything higher than a non-k i5 or newer Intel chip. GARBAGE, TRASH, should not be legal for sale, frankly. As they’re selling you e-waste strapped to a 1990s chassis with platic strapped to it. If thats what you want to spend 2,000 USD on, more power to you?!? I guess. Otherwise youll be better off with Ibuypower, Cyber, Powerspec, Maingear, Digital Storm, etc.

Poor warranty service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dell won't honor the terms of the warranty. They refuse to send a technician to repair mine. They diagnosed the problem and said they'd send a tech -- I took two days off waiting for them and no show. Technician lied and closed said they did the work and closed my ticket. Now I'm fighting with Dell to get it fixed -- they want me to mail it to them to get repaied.

Trash PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.$2000+ down the drain. This PC shuts down on its on while playing certain games and then fails to display the windows screen. I’ve even had tech support come over and swap out graphics card and only worked for a couple months. I would never buy an Alienware again. Worst over priced PC’s and moronic tech support via phone.

Stay Away
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do yourself a favor and stay very far from alienware. The PC's are junk, poorly designed, only use dell parts, and customer service is poor. It will be much easier to build your own PC, and you will be able to upgrade it as well. I got an alienware in 2021. Never got it to work properly, waste of 2k.
