Super system ...when on sale.... LiQ cooled CPU Nvidia 1070 Smooth as butter system....Intel Optane makes SSD not necessary unless you really want one. Grab one when on sale...You won't regret it. I use it to help SETI research as well as other public projects when not in use...the 8700 makes everything fly extremely fast.

Addressing to some of the reviews I read online that it makes too much noise, it doesn't. This is one of the most silent desktops I have ever had. I would definitely recommend liquid cooling model. I play PC and Oculus games on it and they have been seamless.

I wanted to build my own PC but the specs of this PC was expensive. Finding this PC on sale at BB was fantastic. I have no issues with this PC, it plays all the top games a EPIC level of detail. It has extra fans to help keep the CPU/GPU cool. No issues, love Alienware.

I went into this looking for a good bang for the buck gaming machine. I read reviews on everything and finally settled on this rig. Correct decision! It's backed by Dell service and support, but it's also fully upgradable. Oh, and it's FAST, even on the highest graphics settings.

I was lucky enough to receive this desk top at a very good price. It works flawlessly and is very quiet. The desk top tower never exceeds certain temperature heats. The performance and interface and is very response and easy to use.

I needed to upgrade my old XP PC that I built years ago. I had planned on building the new one too but the Alienware R7 deal was just too great to pass up. I could not have built one with comparable specs for anywhere near the price of the Alienware. I purchased this primarily for digital painting with Adobe Photshop and using a Wacom Cintiq. I painted some huge resolution files and the computer did not slow down a bit. It rocks! I may consider adding an SD scratch drive and more memory since Photoshop runs best with them but... I really don't need to do it right away. I have not been much of a gamer (The last one I played on PC was MYST) but... I tried out some games (Batman Arkham City, War Thunder, MS Flight Sim X) at full frame rate and it was a smooth as can be. This is a great PC!

I use to always joke about how overpriced these were. Got it on a decent sale and wow, incredible rig. Not only is it incredibly fast, but able to run every single game out there. VR ready. Extremely quiet. Love the expandability.

This computer was a solid option for getting a decent graphics card through the crypto mining frenzy. Even after that you get great performance and the ability to upgrade in a compact, cost effective package.

PREFACE: I would give this 4.5 stars, but the rating system won't let me. I usually don't purchase computers with the most recent CPU's because they tend to be overpriced AND the previous generation CPU's are more than capable of handling my and my family's computing needs. This approach has served me well in the past, but finally caught up with me on my last purchase, a Dell AIO touchscreen with an AMD CPU. It was slow and clunky, and it drove us nuts. It could barely handle web-browsing, MS Office, etc., and there was no way my kids could play Fortnite on it. So, I decided to change things up and get the latest Intel CPU with the Alienware Aurora R7, and I'm really glad I did. PROS 1) The CPU is incredibly fast. Web browsing is much faster, and MS Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) load in less than 5 seconds. 2) The dedicated graphics card makes a huge difference in performance. Ok, so we weren't able to play Fortnite on our previous machine, but judging from the performance of other programs (websites, games, etc.), having a dedicated graphics card does wonders. You might be thinking, "Duh!", but even the average user who doesn't play games will notice a huge difference in performance. 3) Ports, ports, ports! There are a LOT of USB ports on this machine for all your connected devices, e.g. external HDD's, gaming headsets, etc. Seven USB 3.1 and six USB 2.0 should be more than enough to handle every need. 4) Expansion bays. There are two, 2.5" expansion slots in the tower if you ever want to add more internal HDD's. They're super easy to get to if you want to enhance the computer even more. CONS 1) Alienware software can be buggy. Just recently, one section this software stopped working properly. It doesn't affect anything else except the external lighting on the tower so no performance issues. The whole lighting thing is a little gimmicky anyways, but it is annoying that it's not working. 2) It's a big tower. I'd gotten used to the footprint of the AIO, so I had to dust off my old monitor and place the tower on the floor to keep my desk space. It's not a deal breaker, but just know that you have to accommodate its size. 3) Price. It's listed at $1,499, which is a lot of money for a computer these days. Considering you can get a laptop for less than $500, why would anyone spend 3X the amount for a desktop without a monitor? Heck, even Dell's own gaming model is $500 less. (By the way, Dell owns Alienware.) If you aren't going to play graphics intensive games, this isn't the computer for you. (Full disclosure - I purchased this computer when it was on sale. The $350 discount was good only for the week I went in, and since I could pay same-as-cash in 12 months, it was a good deal. I have yet to see this model go on sale since I purchased it.) (I should note that I also upgraded my router to a Netgear Nighthawk, which made a big difference in the performance of the Dell AIO. It still can't hold a candle to the Alienware, but the upgrade did help overall.) My family and I have really enjoyed having this computer for the last several weeks. Not only can my kids play Fortnite, but my wife can browse the web at super fast speeds, and I can work on Office documents without any delays. With school starting soon, having this as the main computer and the AIO as the backup will really help since people won't be fighting over computer time. This was a considerable investment, but because it's the latest CPU with the latest graphics card, it should serve our family well for the next several years.

I purchased this computer when it was on sale for $1,149. Just the GTX1070 and i7-8700 alone is worth almost $1000 at the current prices, which made purchasing this computer a no brainer compared to building my own. The PC is liquid cooled, and runs extremely quiet, even while gaming! I am unable to hear any fan noise at all, and I am amazed at how well this computer runs with absolutely no noise at all, all while keeping GPU and CPU temperatures at a max of 70C. Only thing that would make this PC fantastic is the addition of an SSD, however, even without the SSD, the boot time (10-15 sec) and launching frequently used applications is fast thanks to the Intel Optane Memory that's included.

I haven't built a computer in over 20 years and after owning pre-builts I wanted to build again, but crypto-mining drove GPU prices through the roof. I was about ready to buy a Cyberpower, but then saw this unbelievable deal for $1149. I knew these wouldn't last. I picked it up 4 days ago and they're already sold out in my area. So far it's performed flawlessly and taken everything I've thrown at it.

Powerful CPU and graphic card GTX1070. However, the hard drive is still a little bit slow even with the optane technology. Anyway, it is a great game desktop to meet your game needs.

First one I got ended up having a major issue with the software to the point even fresh reinstall of windows didn't fix. Luckily that was still within return date so I was able to get another....second one I have had major windows driver corrupting issues until I did a fresh install of windows without all the extra programs dell and Alienware put on their systems. Since then I haven't had a problem. If you get this tower I would recommend doing a fresh install of windows right out of the box.

THis PC does great with a 1070I and the cpu is great. Have been running this unit now for year and it is still a power house. VR is seemless on the unit. Other units do sell for more with lesser specs, so I would not go tat route, However with an i7 870 1070 and good amount of USB 3.0 for VR it does what I need and more. THe only negative I have is that my 1070 tends to get hot quickly. I do wish it had better cooling. And the unit is advertised as dual graphics ready. This is not true, as the power supply is only 350 watts. you need to upgrade this to be able to run dual graphics
