So basically the first one I bought got returned within a couple of days. The front fan/pump started to sound like a helicopter. The second system was much better but had an issue with the bios after a couple days, which I fixed but it kept making weird sounds as well. Also the system seemed like it came with alot of unnecessary bloatware. Stock keyboard and mouse was laughable at best. I know they're stock but it could have given you something a little better for the price you pay. The Alienware Fx editior seems like it also took up alot of resources to monitor the temps and change the color of the outer case. But it aslo came with another 3rd party temp monitor...so I don't understand the theory. Overall it did the job but you're paying for the name... Look elsewhere first. Make this a last resort and buy with caution.

    Waste of Money

When I first got Aurora R7, I thought it was a good buy for the money, but after only a few months, the computer did a software update and crashed. I talked with Dell tech support and the only solution was to completely reformat the hard drive and start with a new install of Windows 10. This would be okay, if is wasn't for the loss of about half of my programs, including the free Crew game that came with the purchase. I would recommend that you find another gaming system that isn't "Dell." Dell may have great technical support, but it is due to the fact that they get a lot of practice. I know I won't buy another piece of unstable junk from them again!

Thanks for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about the crash that you experienced. If you'd like to diagnose crashes in the future you can follow these steps:

      1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
      2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
      3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
      4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - https://dell.to/2O7l6KH.

Honestly it’s just okay the case isn’t durable at all having to replace two pieces due to the fact they will not go back on correctly after taking it apart to clean all the fans I think it is fast it hasn’t failed me internally but the case itself needs a massive overhaul looks killer but horrible design make all the taps more durable make it a thicker plastic or have it metal like the right side door all the way around and the reason I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend is because it will break when you go to take it apart and clean alll the fans out even if you follow alienwares instructions and I am still waiting on my reply from them because I am trying to order the two pieces that decided to break because of the poor quality of the case

This gaming desktop is really well built and has really good specs. I can play any game on ultra settings on 1080p or 1444p. The only thing lacking is the design. I feel like it is a little outdated and needs a more refreshing look.

    Hard drive replacement

This is my first gaming PC and I heard Alienware was a great brand so I invested in it. 3 months after owning the PC I contacted Dell because the computer crashed and could not repair itself. Dell was very helpful in sending a technician to replace the hardrive however I didn't expect issues so soon especially in replacing the hardrive. I thought the high price I paid was worth alienware's reputation of quality but all I have now is regrets. I'm worried about the future of my investment if I'm having issues this early.

If I could put zero star I would! OS problems after one month. Had to deal with Dell’s pathetic customer disservice. Toshiba Hard drive failure. I had to pay to replace the hard drive myself. Will never purchase Dell again.

Do not buy the Aurora R7 or any Alienware product

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

So I purchased the Aurora R7 about a month and a half ago. On the last day of my return policy (30 days) the computer would not load the OS fully. It would stop at the login screen for windows then power cycle. I spent 4 hours on the phone with Dell tech support and they told me that it would need to be replaced. I took the computer back and Best Buy was giving me issues about returning it. After spending over an hour in Best Best trying to get it exchanged they finally did it. After 3 weeks of having the replacement I just got a notification that the CPU water pump went out. I opened the Alienware Control Center and all of the fans and sensors are malfunctioning now.... I went online followed steps to try to resolve the situation. I contacted Dell support and received the same great experience (sarcasm) that I received the last time. I am about to head into Best Buy to get the computer exchanged for a different computer entirely... wish me luck!

Don't Buy IT if you are a youtuber!

I've never had so much trouble with a computer. I am on my second alienware aurora pc within a month and i just got home from work and it has the same problem as the last one did, it malfunction internally and will not display, or turn on equipment such as the mouse, speaker or keyboard. I got my computer 9 days ago and it already has crashed, the one before was 14 days. It is a great looking computer, but for working on and liability, I would rather go to the library than purchase this one again. I am a youtuber, I make youtube videos and post them to youtube, and my computer is the life source of my operation/career and this computer cannot withstand it. If you do purchase this, you are gambling. Make sure to get the extended warranty just incase so you can take it back when and if, it malfunctions like mine.
