Great budget QHD Gaming monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Alienware AW2725DM monitor is a great budget gaming monitor for 1440p gaming. Max refresh rate is 180 hz with the display port. This monitor supports Vrr and has multiple response time settings for gaming. The monitor can reach 600 nits in SDR. The monitor will also do HDR but it is a little less bright about 400 nits max. If you use the HDMI on a PC it can only do 144hz at 2560 x 1440. On a gaming console outputting 4k the monitor will downscale to 1440p but at only 60 hz. I found the panel looked great gaming with my Nvidia card at 2560 x 1440, the brightness and response time was excellent using the gaming settings and fast response time settings. There is a dark stabilizer to enhance black levels while gaming. The monitor has DCI-P3 95% color coverage and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification making all those colors accurate and bright. The new 360 degree ventilation keeps everything cool while gaming. The supplied Alienware stand is really good. It has height, x and y rotation allowing you to get the monitor in just the right position. There is a cable management channel in the stand. The base is small and does not take up a lot of room while being very stable. The monitor has 1 DP1.4 ports HDCP 1.4 & 2.3 supporting up to 2560 x 1440 @180 Hz, HDR, VRR), 2 HDMI 2.1 ports (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3 that support up to QHD 2560 x 1440 @ 144 Hz, 10 bit, TMDS, HDR, VRR), 2 USB A ports in the built in hub one supports charging. Power is input with a standard pc power cord and there is no power brick needed. The ips panel has wide viewing angles. The semi-matt coating decreases reflections without decreasing sharpness like full matt coatings on other monitors. The monitor is good for general purpose office use but text is slightly blurred making it a better choice for gaming rather than office use. This is a great monitor for console gaming and will do Vrr with a PS5. Overall this is a great choice for 1440p (2560 x 1440) gaming if you are on a budget. Alienware has tweaked it to get the best out of this panel and the stand is very good. The Alienware AW2725DM is a solid budget-friendly option for 1440p (2560 x 1440) gaming. Utilizing DisplayPort, it achieves a maximum refresh rate of 180Hz, while HDMI on a PC limits it to 144Hz at 1440p. For 4K console output, it downscales to 1440p at 60Hz. The monitor supports VRR and offers various response time settings for enhanced gaming. Brightness reaches 600 nits in SDR and around 400 nits in HDR. In gameplay with an Nvidia card at 1440p (2560 x 1440) , the panel delivered excellent brightness and response times, particularly when using the gaming and fast response time presets. A dark stabilizer feature improves black levels. Alienware includes some gaming tools but I seldom use them. The included Alienware stand is highly adjustable, offering height and x/y rotation and tilt, along with a cable management channel. Despite its small footprint, the stand provides excellent stability. Connectivity includes two DP 1.4 ports, one HDMI 2.0 port, and two USB ports in the integrated hub. Power is supplied via a standard PC power cord (supplied), eliminating the need for an external power brick. 1 Dp to Dp cable, 1 HDMI cable and 1 USB Type A to Type B cable are supplied. Equipped with an IPS panel, the monitor provides wide viewing angles, and the semi-matte coating minimizes reflections without sacrificing sharpness. While suitable for general office tasks, text clarity is slightly compromised, making it better suited for gaming. It's also a good fit for console gaming, supporting VRR with a PS5. See the Table here for full support info for consoles: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000187148/dell-gaming-monitors-support-for-gaming-consoles In summary, the Alienware AW2725DM is a great 1440p gaming monitor for those on a budget. Alienware has optimized the panel performance, and the stand's adjustability and design is a significant advantage for a monitor at this price point.

Versatile, high-quality gaming monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Alienware - AW2725DM 27" IPS LED QHD 180Hz 1ms FreeSync and G-Sync Gaming Monitor with HDR is a great monitor at what I consider to be the perfect size. There are plenty of other larger monitors available on the market but I am a firm believer in the idea that 27” monitors like this Alienware AW2725DM monitor hit the sweet spot when it comes to monitor size, especially if you are like me and plan on using your monitor for both work and gaming. One of the things that I was pleasantly surprised by when first setting up this monitor was just how small yet sturdy the stand is. It is also tiltable and height-adjustable which really comes in handy when trying to find the perfect angle for your setup. As for connections, this Alienware AW2725DM offers the following wide variety of ports: 2x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort, 1x USB 5Gbps Type-B upstream port, and 2x USB 5Gbps Type-A downstream ports (one of which includes battery charging). Having both HDMI and DisplayPort connections is nice, and I especially like the inclusion of the two USB ports, making it easier to add additional peripheral devices. Included in the package are the power cable, an HDMI cable, DisplayPort cable, and USB Type-B cable. One of the things that expands the functionality of this Alienware AW2725DM even further is the fact that it is both FreeSync and G-Sync compatible. This means you can take advantage of advanced features that help prevent screen tearing in fast-paced games and all of the other benefits that come with FreeSync and G-Sync technology regardless of whether your system uses AMD or NVIDIA graphics cards. As for performance, I am very happy with this monitor. The QHD resolution (2560x1440) coupled with the 180Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time (1ms gray to gray response time) results in a high-quality picture no matter what I am using the monitor for. Overall, I am very impressed with the Alienware - AW2725DM 27" IPS LED QHD 180Hz 1ms FreeSync and G-Sync Gaming Monitor with HDR and I highly recommend it!

Great monitor with all the features I need.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this monitor for a couple weeks and really like it. It's colors are great, the menus and adjustability are easy and the stand is very solid and convenient. I'll start with the stand. It's nicely designed, easy to assemble and feels very solid. the swivel and height adjustments are very easy and smooth. The stand base is not overly large for this size monitor which is nice, it's definitely on the small side without compromising being sturdy. I plan on using a Vesa mount and that is nicely located behind the stand. Should be easy to mount. The colors on this monitor are great. They're bright and accurate. The refresh rate is definitely nice for gaming and the g-sync was working smoothly on my 3060. I have been very happy with this monitor so far. The back of the monitor is a blue/navy color which I haven't seen on a monitor before but looks nice. The Inputs are well located and easy to access. Having USB ports on the bottom of the monitor is also very convenient for my setup as my desktop is remotely located in another room. This gives me a couple extra ports without having to run more extension cables or splitters. I think 1440 is a great resolution these days. I have a couple 4k monitors and they are great but the difference in visible resolution between a 1440 and 2160 is very slight, and the other use who wears glasses cannot really even tell a difference. The gap between 1080 and 1440 seems to be much more noticeable and visible by everyone. I don't think I'll ever by a 1080 monitor again and don't know that I'll spend the money on a 2160 monitor unless it's 32" or larger. Overall I would recommend this monitor. The size, color rendition, and resolution are all very nice.

Excellent monitor with great picture quality!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Alienware AW2725DM 27" IPS LED QHD monitor is a great monitor offering from Dell's Alienware lineup. A QHD (2560 x 1440 resolution) LED monitor that makes use of IPS technology to avoid some of LED's shortcomings and it actually looks amazing! With a 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time as well as being FreeSync and G-SYNC compatible makes your games look and run great. The monitor features an integrated standard VESA mount allowing you to easily mount this monitor in whatever way works for you which is great and should be universal on all monitors without having to buy an additional accessory. My only issue with the VESA mount is that there is a decent amount of the frame in the way so depending on how you attach the VESA mount you may need to use spacers. This is a very minor complaint and in now way affects my opinions on this monitor, as I still think this is an amazing monitor, but I feel like it is something to be aware of. Overall, this is a great monitor that looks and plays amazingly and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a monitor. The picture quality is great, the response and refresh times are perfect, and it looks great aesthetically making this a great choice for anyone looking for a monitor.

Resolution is superb, response and color also!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR: Alienware 27” gamer screen has superb 2560 X1440 IPS resolution, tilting, swivel & pivot (portrait) use, arrives with DP and HDMi cables, uses 25 watts, 1 millisecond response, solid base, cable management, VESA arm ready, great contrast for gaming or other use, web, spreadsheets, email. Base: This is a solid monitor without any of those shaky, flimsy slight vibration causing bases; this model is solid. The included base snaps into the monitor back with no tools required. It allows tilt up and down adjustment, raising or lowering the monitor, and pivoting around to use the monitor in vertical portrait mode for both gaming or use in long web page or word processing mode. Wires/Ports: Alienware supplies both a single HDMI cable and a single DisplayPort cable. There are 2 HDMI inputs. Also included is a 5gbps speed USB-A to USB-B upstream cable for activating the other on-board USB ports There is also a USB-A downstream port which supplies power for charging devices of 2 Amps as well as a 2nd USB-A downstream port with no power delivery. There is a normal 120 volt power cable (no power brick that creates a falling or containment issue). Display quality: These specs are from the Dell user manual: VESA AdaptiveSync Display certification minimizes graphic distortions like screen tearing and stuttering for a smoother, fluid gameplay. NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Certified. Supports AMD FreeSync Technology for tear-free, stutter-free, low latency gaming. VESA DisplayHDR 400. Color gamut of DCI-P3 95%. My conclusion: This Alienware monitor produces superb picture quality with no complaints in any regard when using it with gaming my laptop with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPU circuit. The flat display surface is matte anti-glare. There are no internal speakers nor is there an audio output port. The lack of a port won’t detract much from the superb visual performance but it would have made connecting a speaker system easier and neater. It is still recommended.

Great monitor for multi users in a home!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, so let me start by saying I am not a gamer. My son, however, is deep into all things gaming—and after his constant (and convincing) “suggestions,” we finally upgraded to this Alienware 27” monitor. I’ll admit, I originally thought it was a bit over the top, but now that we’ve been using it, I totally get the hype. Right out of the box, the monitor looks sharp—sleek black design, super clean lines, and the signature Alienware look. Even I think it’s cool. Setup was a breeze (which I appreciated), and it comes with both HDMI and DisplayPort options, which made it easy to hook up to both my work laptop and my son’s gaming setup. My son says the 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make a huge difference in his games. He plays everything from Fortnite to Call of Duty. He mentioned something about FreeSync and G-Sync reducing screen tearing—I’ll take his word for it. He has stopped complaining about lag and frame drops. I use the monitor during the day for basic things—email, Zoom calls, editing photos, and watching shows while I work—and I love the bright, clear display. The colors are rich without looking too harsh, and it’s big enough to comfortably split screen if I need to juggle tasks. The matte screen also helps cut glare from my nearby window. We watched a movie on it the other night, and the HDR really does make a difference—the picture was crisp and vibrant, almost like a mini home theater. The monitor doesn’t have built-in speakers, so keep that in mind (we already had a set of desktop speakers). It’s adjustable (tilt/swivel/height), which is great since we share it. If you’re a household that mixes work, school, and high-stakes gaming like we do, this monitor strikes the perfect balance. It’s fast, gorgeous, and totally future-proof. My son’s thrilled, I’m happy, and we’re both getting a lot of use out of it.

Great Gaming and Graphics Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For my review of this Alienware - AW2725DM 27" IPS LED QHD 180Hz 1ms FreeSync and G-Sync Gaming Monitor which I rate 5 out of 5 stars. Out of the box the monitor is very easy to assemble. Simply attach the stand neck to the back of the monitor chassis and then fasten the monitor base with the thumbscrew to the stand neck per figures as shown. The monitor glides well on the stand, up and down, pivots left and right and finally rotates from landscape to portrait all with ease. Under the Alienware logo at the bottom of the monitor yields a multi-directional control button to aid in your video set-up. On the underside of the monitor, you will find a 1.4 DisplayPort and 2-HDMI ports, plus 2 USB ports. This monitor packs all the features needed for everyday use, graphics design, and gaming. The 27” display is good to use in confined spaces or to pair with another monitor for dual monitor use. This IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel type monitor allows for great color consistency along with viewing from extreme angles. The monitor brightness at 400 cd/㎡ (or 400 NIT) is great for use in bright rooms without the need for shades. The response time of 4ms combined with the max 180Hz refresh rate allows for non-competitive gameplay with limited blur or lag in typical gaming scenarios. The icing on the cake making this a monitor to own is the G-SYNC (NVIDIA Adaptive Sync), FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) features. A small caveat is the lack of a build-in WebCam, but many users prefer higher specs of add-on WebCams offering greater features. You cannot go wrong with this monitor and highly recommend it. I hope you enjoyed reading my review and it aided in your purchase decision.

What an upgrade!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a HUGE upgrade to my gaming setup and is my first dedicated gaming monitor. In the past I would use TV monitors and I thought it was fine until I tried a monitor that was built just for gaming! The price of the monitor makes it a can't miss deal for me! My son realized the difference as soon as he turned his xBox on and he's asked why we didn't upgrade to an Alienware sooner. The colors POP on this and it's so much quicker that my old monitor! When I opened the box assembly was pretty easy! I attached the stand to the monitor in a few seconds connected the power cables and HDMI cable and BOOM I'm ready to roll! Fired up my gaming system and a collective "ohhhh" came from my kids as they watched and noticed the difference in the clarity and colors! The brightness, refresh rate and speed is perfect and you truly cannot go wrong with this monitor at this size and at this price! I'm not sure how much better they can get with a higher price point, but I will say that I will be looking for Alienware monitors going forward!

Can't go wrong with this one
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a few monitors on my desk. I have a 14" in portrait mode for my security cameras, I have a Alienware AW2724HF 27" and a 32" as my main screen. Adding the Alienware AW2725DM 27" Gaming Monitor really puts the cherry on top of my setup. I find it easily compares to my ASUS - TUF 31.5" LED WQHD FreeSync Gaming Monitor. The color profile, the brightness, the response time all sync up very well when mounted on top of last years Alienware 27”. The connection options are nice as well and Alienware / Dell included all of the cables for HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C. The monitor easily connected to my monitor arm for proper placement. I have found that games such as Fortnite, Rogue Squadron and Halo look great on the screen while movies and video calls are crisp and clear. Text is just about perfect for me and scrolling the web is relaxing with the balance between size, brightness and contrast. I will gladly be suggesting this monitor to others in a work from home environment or casual gaming.

Surprisingly Good!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a surprisingly good monitor. When I was selecting this monitor, it said that it was an IPS panel. I thought it wouldn't be a very good monitor and was worried about color accuracy. However, this is a fantastic monitor. I have a tri-monitor setup: an IPS FHD 165 Hz on the left, an OLED QHD 480 Hz in the middle, and (now) this IPS QHD 180 Hz monitor on the right. Its color accuracy is surprisingly good, even next to the OLED. Its 180 Hz refresh rate and QHD resolution mean that I can even use it for gaming or watching videos at higher resolutions. It also has HDR and DRR (Dynamic Refresh Rate), which is nice to have. Its also has Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync compatible. This ensures that screen tearing does not occur. The response time of this monitor is also relatively low, at an average of 1 millisecond. Overall, I'd recommend this monitor for anything looking for a decent resolution monitor at a higher refresh rate. It's various features and fantastic specs make it a great option for gamers.

Perfect Size amazing display
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alienware - AW2725DM 27" IPS LED QHD 180Hz 1ms FreeSync and G-Sync Gaming Monitor with HDR (HDMI, DisplayPort). Oh the size! I completely love it not to big or small the color is awesome make some adjustments and it was perfect to my taste. Even with the low blue light solution it helped with less eye strain without taking away from the color. Images are nice clear and sharp. I was effy about the stand size at first thinking due to the small size the screen would not be sturdy but it was perfect not cheaply made. It comes with 1 power cord, 1 HDMI cable two HDMI slots, has slots for one USB Type-A and one USB Type-B, a joystick slot and a security lock slot. How really like how the ports are neat and straight across the bottom middle back of the screen with cable being all face down for an easier better look & on the display stand it has a slot to put the wires through to make it look even neater. Has a 4 millisecond response time with an LED screen. It isn’t touch screen but for me not a big deal, what is a big deal kinda it does not have a speaker! It also doesn’t have a webcam which I don’t care about but just in case someone does for the cost of the screen you would think they would have come built in, would highly recommend purchasing it’s perfect.

Absolutely WONDERFUL! - Compare to LG Omen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a WONDERFUL monitor! I've used a variety of standard HD (1080p) monitors, and I've used a 34" Samsung 4k monitor, but 27" at 1440p seems to be the sweet spot for productivity monitors (I'm not much of a gamer, but the clarity of the image is fantastic as well). I do have an LG Omen which was about $700-800 originally as well, and I must say that this Alienware monitor is very comparable for about 1/3 of the price. I can say that the clarity of the image/text is just slightly less than the LG Omen, but still absolutely usable for productive work and reading text at 1440p. Very clear and easy to read, but just a quarter-step behind the LG. For the refresh-rate, this is honestly more dependent on your computer. I'm using a Surface Go 3 at the moment, and any monitor maxes out at 144 Hz refresh rate. From that perspective, there is absolutely no difference between this and the LG, so spending extra money on a monitor that can go to 240 Hz is absolutely not necessary. If you do have a dedicated gaming rig, it may be worth considering, but the science is honestly still out on whether the human eye can perceive the difference between 144 and 240. This is a great monitor, and if you're even considering the LG Omen, I'd say you're better off getting two or three of these with a docking station and setting up a full command center rather than a single monitor. :)

A great gaming monitor from Alienware
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this monitor to go with a recently gaming pc that I built. This monitor is amazing and is great for gaming. The Nvidia G-Sync works perfectly. The display is smooth, the backlight is great. No issues at all with setting this monitor up for the first time. It was easy to set up and connect to the pc. The menu is easy to navigate and configure everything to what your preferences are. There are no speakers on this monitor, but as with most gaming monitors, there aren't any, most gamers are using headphones to listen to their games anyways. As with most items from Alienware, this monitor is a little more expensive than some of the other monitors available on the marketplace today. But, the quality is there, as is typical for Alienware. The build quality is superb with no issues found on this monitor. Be sure to dial in this monitor to the game that you are playing, the colors are superb, crisp, and clear. This monitor has 2 HDMI ports, 1 DisplayPort, 2 type A USB ports and 1 type B USB port. Overall, I am impressed with this monitor and will be playing games on it for a long time to come.

Specs are solid. Only thing i dont like is it has no rgb lighting on the back compared to the older model that did. But its not a big deal. From shooter games loke Fortnite to story games loke The Last Of Us everything looks great on it. So far so good.
