Best monitor I've ever used!!!

Best monitor I've ever used. OLED color reproduction and contrast are one thing, but the speed of this monitor or OLED tech in general just makes it perfect. I have mine in a monitor arm so it's not too close to my face and text looks just fine. I know a lot of people are concerned about the sun pixel layout but it's good enough for me! This is coming from a Samsung Odyssey G9 early adopter, I prefer the size of the Alienware AW3423DWF!

I picked this monitor up just before thanksgiving and it has such beautiful colors and is super fast. It’s a high end monitor with tons of features, make sure you follow the care guidelines for OLED panels so you don’t have burn in. If you’re looking for an upgrade, this is the way to go.

Product has performed excellently since I purchased it. The top left of the screen was messed up but it was an open box and it doesn’t affect performance as far as I can tell. My first ultrawide and I’m blown away.

This monitor has been exactly what I was looking for. A great OLED Ultrawide monitor. I watched plenty of review videos before purchasing and many different reviewers gave this monitor the crown and I got it for a great deal on sale.

The Dell AW3423DWF is amazing for PC gaming. It has a near-instantaneous response time that makes motion look extremely sharp, and it has low input lag for a responsive feel. It has a max refresh rate of 165Hz that you can reach over a DisplayPort connection, and it supports all common VRR formats to reduce screen tearing. That said, there's noticeable VRR flicker with changing frame rates, which is disappointing if your PC can't maintain a consistent frame rate. On the plus side, it's a great choice for dark room gaming as it displays perfect black levels in a dark room without any blooming around bright objects.

Love it, was a little skeptical at first due to this version not having the nvidia gsync module but it exceeds my expectations, gsync compatibility does still work for nvidia users, and after some tweaking with HDR 1000 it’s perfect.

i have been using this alien technology for about a month and i love it. it was packaged well and was delivered quickly, did not see any blemishes on the screen after taking it out of the box.
the colors from this monitor are very impressive and having an IPS monitor right beside it really shows the difference. this is the first ultrawide i have used. i like the 34" size and the slight curve. The light on the back side of the monitor looks nice too.
Taking precautions for OLED burn-in along with the automatic Pixel Refresh function. This monitor came with firmware M3B104.

Still an Excellent Monitor in 2024

Purchased this monitor to replace an older IPS Ultrawide. The picture and colors are excellent. The stand it comes with is sturdy and has an excellent build quality, but I replaced that with a Dell MSA20 monitor arm which requires no extra adapters the monitor clips directly on to the arm. My monitor was purchased as a "Like New" open box from my local best buy and other than missing the oem cables was perfect. After six weeks my monitor formed some bubbles underneath the screen and the Dell warranty covered a replacement which arrived brand new from Dell. I can not speak to Dell covering burn in on Best Buy purchased AW3423DWF but they did cover my issue.
My biggest issue with this monitor is that the Alienware app being installed prevents the monitor from sleeping and automatic drivers being updated through windows 11 must be disabled or the app will reinstall constantly. The Dell Monitor Manager software works with this monitor without issue though it can not be used to control the LED of the monitor, that will have to be done through the OSD or install the Alienware app, set the LEDs and then uninstall it.
Other tips to help protect against burn in: set a moving wall paper with Wall Paper Engine, set windows to auto hide taskbar, and set windows to turn off display after a set time of inactivity(I use 15 minutes)
This is a great monitor at the price, it goes on sale from Best buy once or twice a month so wait for the sale price. The the picture quality will not disappoint!

In terms of screen quality, it’s definitely high end but it does not play all the games in full screen. Would definitely recommend it for games with ultrawide accommodations but would not recommend if the games you play are not ultrawide support.

I have been very hesitant on purchasing this monitor, and finally pulled the trigger on a black friday sale. I got it for 730 and some change on a open box excellent status. I was feeling a lot of instant buyers remorse as soon as i got it. Then i plugged it in, and my god did all of that melt away. THis is by far the most beautiful display I have ever laid my eyes on. Absolutely worth the price- especially if you can get it below the 1100 dollar price tag. I believe i got it at a steal for under 800. If you are on the fence, let this be your message to go forward with it- you definitely wont be sorry.

OLED monitors are the future!

This is a fantastic monitor. I had purchased a Gigabyte 34" Ultrawide that was a VA panel and it was really nice, don't get me wrong, but this Alienware one blows it out of the water.
I always wanted an OLED monitor but I held off for so long because of price and burn in concerns, but I was previously a plasma TV owner and I never saw a thing burn in after years and years of playing video games for sometimes up to 10 hours a day. (Yeah I'm kind of a loser, it's ok.)
So I went for the monitor and I've had it for several months now and not a single burn in, response time is super fast and it makes every game you own look incredible. The black parts look like it's off. No more greyish-purplish glow when the screen is dark.
Totally worth it, do yourself a favor and grab one.
You won't regret it.

The Good and the Bad of the Alienware OLED

The Good:
This is by far the best monitor I’ve ever owned. The response time is extremely fast for all of my games, I def feel an advantage when playing competitive games. The black levels are unmatched. I game on PC. With PC, your system is only as good as the weakest part, this monitor keeps up with my powerful system. I’m telling you, as far as image quality and performance goes, you will not be disappointed.
The Bad:
The only downside I have is that, like all OLEDs, they have to be refreshed every 4 hours to prevent burn in. The refresh takes approximately 8 mins to complete, that can get annoying if you’re doing work on the pc, or gaming. Sometimes I forget to do it even with the annoying pop ups that come on the screen. But that’s just an issue with OLEDs in general, the performance you get from the monitor outweighs this one con in my opinion.

This monitor is excellent at what it is supposed to do, which is: Deliver ultrawide immersion while giving you a gorgeous HDR with true absolute blacks and popping colors.
The QD-OLED technology is definitely a step up from WOLED. Playing Cyberpunk 2077 on my C1 vs this monitor was noticeable. In fact it’s arguably rated as the current best OLED monitor at the market, and I’m not surprised one bit.
Here’s some take-aways,
Pros:
- QDOLED gets brighter than WOLED. HDR1000 has great brightness levels in peak highlights.
- Contrast is practically infinite thanks to OLED.
- Glossy finish makes the colors scream.
- 165hz for 3440x1440 is perfect. 4080/4090/7900XTX cards can push that resolution on ultra and utilize the refresh rate.
- 165hz 10 bit IS possible with a custom resolution (seek Reddit). Works flawlessly with VRR
- Freesync Pro is awesome and works well on any card.
- Instantaneous response rates thanks to OLED.
- No low frame rate ghosting, judder or overshoot (like some WOLED panels).
- Accurate color gamut out of the box.
Cons:
- Risk of burn in. This is easily avoidable. I’ve owned three OLEDs and never experienced burnin.
- No speakers, if you really care (I don’t).
- Okay SDR brightness (250 bits). I recommend Windows 11 in HDR mode all the time on HDR True Black and HDR1000 for gaming.
- Alienware monitor UI is.. okay. I love Alienware monitors but the UI has always been bleh.
Would I recommend it.. 10/10. Of course!
